I like them both. We have a little Pomeranian called Cookie and Brazilian shorthair called AliceThey get along quite well and I love to watch them playing together. For sure dogs are more "high maintenance" but I can't say I like one more than another.

I have to go with dogs. I have a black lab. But think of this; someone breaks into your house, your dog starts barking and maybe even attacks the thief and saves your life. On the other hand, someone breaks into your house and you have a cat and all your cat does it look at the thief and be like, "they're in there, now let me sleep". Yeah, I'm going with dogs.
