Does anyone know what video game I'm thinking of?

So, I've been racking my brain for the last 25 years trying to figure out what game I cannot think of that I played when I was a kid. I will give you the low down, and maybe someone here can help.
First thing, it was between the years of 1986-1990... the console plugged into the tv and had a gun. The game was almost live action filmed inside of a haunted house. The console did not have a controller but a gun. The game started with a friendly ghost ( like Casper but not ) who was caught inside this house with other ghosts. You were to clear the house of ghosts, but when you would finish a level or part etc, the friendly ghost would come out and guide you. I remember when you fired the gun it looked like a camera flash and a little circle of light would hit the tv and "shoot the ghost
I don't have much more information than that seeing as I was 9 years old and haven't see this game/product since. If anyone in the world could help I figured I could find them here.

It was probably the Action Max which used VHS tapes for its game. The game in particular you are talking about sounds like the Rescue of Pops Ghostly. A friend of mine had it but we didn't play it a lot because it was a one trick pony in a time of nintendo and Commodore 64 games.
One thing I didn't know was that the system had a Blue Thunder game based on the movie which is kinda cool.

Looks like Dota 2. May be mistaken though ) but most likely I'm not as I spent myriads of my free time playing it, even use AI to win
