Dog thread!

Found my puppy, Duke... curled up into a ball on a cold evening...When I brought him home, he was a tiny, dirty thing...bathed him and was worried that the would make the night...

My dad did not know the first night I got him... now he loves Duke the most... Duke has nearly grown twice his size... HE is teething and bites (and sometimes I suppress my immense desire to throw him out of the window...)

And he will not eat unless fed by hand...

So , yeah there is my kid...who is an absolutely adorable douche... 😛

:weed:

I had an amazing dog..a blue chow chow..he was independent..wild..I couldn't do a thing with him..

He made me laugh every day..would only eat the best of everything..would jump into my car..(I had to open the window wide)..stick his head out of the window and blow snot all down the side of my car..

Hated vet's..and as he grew older..he suffered from blindness..cancer..

When I took him to the vet..he said..''It is kinder to put this dog down'' I begged him for just one more day..

I fed him salmon..he sat next to me..and as it was summer he went out to sleep in the garden..(No-one got past him!)..He would sleep under an old apple tree.

Next day when I got up..he was dead underneath the tree..

He saved me the horror of taking him to be euthanised..a gentleman to the end..:heartbeat

My black lab is my best buddy. He's 8 so I guess that makes him middle aged. The thought of not having him gets me all ready eyed. Such s great dog.

I have to tell you about my Irish grandfather...he spent a lot of his time in a pub..and now and again someone's female dog got out..had a casual affair..and the rest as they say is history..

However my ''Grandy'' in his inebriated state would agree to take one of the pups..

A while later..to everyone's surprise..especially Grandy's..he would come home..pup under his arm..my Grandmother would shout at him..then soften and hold the puppy..and feed it..

We called these animals ''The pub dogs'' and each and every one of them was dedicated to my Grandfather..sharing his dinner..jumping on the couch with him..and falling asleep...

Dogs are amazing animals. My dog is so gentle and friendly. Always happy to see me and very, very playful. Although he likes to go out and explore (grrr!), he always comes back, so it's never too hard to find him.

One male whom is ill, "Prinţ" which translates to "Prince." I fear his time is near. :crying:

Thing is, I dont think they are bad dogs, but rather they see it as "protecting" their territory. On the other hand - Im no longer comfortable walking my dog in that area - I want to get some mace poor dogs if I do have to spray themDoes mace work on dogs?

Just mix up some vinegar with water in a spray bottle, probably work just as well ?? I put pepper in the garbage can to keep our dog out of it. He hates pepper haha 😉
