I slowly picked myself up off the floor. I leaned against the lockers for support. Then I carefully placed one foot in front of the other, walking slowly and cautiously towards the group. I winced with every breath, every step, every movement I made. Man, I was going to kill whoever did this, it hurt so bad.

I got to where the group was standing, and looked at Seeker with a flurry of emotions over my face. Anger, confusion, frustration, sadness, the feeling you get when someone judges you wrong, the bunch.

"I......I am not.....with Eve. She asked me.....but I never gave her an answer......yet." I said between winces. I had no idea what to think, join Eve, stay "good", or just continue to be neutral.

"I thought you guys......knew me better than that." I said with distrust. "I guess not."

My breath came easier now, and the pain lessened. I was able to walk a little easier and quicker. I left them, and without turning around, went to my room a few meters down the hallway of which we were standing in. I collapsed on my bed without even bothering to shut the door. I stared up at the ceiling, thinking. Eve thinks I'm on her side. I might be, I don't know. The group thinks I'm on her side. So bascially the only friend I had now was some nut trying to get everyone else's power. And she offered me my powers. But she could be lying, but even when you know they are lying, sometimes you still reach up for the last light you have.....

But it might not be my last light. But I always was able to fall back on the support of my friends. I had to leave mine behind when I came to this place to start a new life. I was hoping to make some new ones. But even those here who share my element, though few, are very competitive. Darkness isn't the brightest crayon in the box to have. But now my fallback-support was seemingly gone.

I rolled over and stared at the wall.

While Seeker was waiting for Joe to answer, a shakened Kairi came round the corner. Her face was bleached white and she was swaying quite a bit as she came to the group. She opened her mouth to say something, but nothing came out. She stood for a moment to get her breath back before continuing. "I......I am not.....with Eve. She asked me.....but I never gave her an answer......yet...I thought you guys......knew me better than that. I guess not." She winced as she said those words and before anyone had time to reply, she turned around and left.

This sudden twist of events left the group dumb-founded. None of them knew what to say. Something must've happened to Kairi to make her act like that. Seeker was the first to recover.

"Well." Said Seeker. "See. I told you. Kairi's in it with Eve. She even admitted that Eve had asked her to join, and the fact that she didn't refuse out-right just proves that she's considering joining the evil b.itch. We can't trust someone as volatile as that, now can we? I mean, who knows what she might do. Judging from her behaviour so far, I wouldn't be surprised if she's mentle or something. So we have to regard her as the enemy for the time being. We can't afford to take any chances. Kairi might still decide to partner with Eve, and we need to be ready for that."

Seeker then turned her attention to Joe. She folded her arms across her chest and glared. "I'm still waiting to hear your take on this whole screwed up situation. Are you, or are you not with Eve?"

~Keikoa looked at Seeker, then sighed~ "Well... we shouldn't just disown her Eve, may be behind all of this but we still need to find a way to stop her. We have to do something, we can't let everybody lose their powers. Or Eve will get her way."

"killing eve is not going to solve anything. And we are not evil so we can't do that. But we do have to stop her from going through with this." Keikoa said.

"Well...only you and Jack can stop her. We know the who, but not the how. But I still say we go with the 'killing' MO. It might be harsh, but it's either she die, or us. Sometimes we need to be cruel to be kind. We just can't afford to let Eve succeed. The sooner we start, the better. What do you say, Jack?" Seeker turned her attention to Jack. If he agrees, then it's 2 against one, and they would have to go with the killing routine.

I went outside. The day was warm, and the sun was bright. I walked past several people, who looked at me like I was an alien. I ignored them and went over to a solitary tree and sat down. I leaned back against the tree, not bothering with invisibility. I mean, no one was going to talk to me anyways. I looked up when I heard a group of guys laughing and talking, one of which I knew had Darkness.

"Yeah, you should have seen it, she couldn't do a thing I hit her so fast. I knew she was too weak, she's probably not too smart either." He said, laughing as the entire group laughed. "Yeah, that Asian freak can't even do her own power!"

This was it. I had been pushed over the emotional limit one time too many. I hurriedly put on invisibility, got up quickly, and shoved my way to the center of the group, where the boy was still bragging. "That's not the way it happened, now is it?" I said in his ear. I knew for a fact had super speed for his ability. I ripped off the invisibility and scared the hell out of the group of guys. I stood back as they all crowded together facing me.

"You think you're better than me? You think it's fun to attack when your enemy's back is turned? You think that makes you something special, to be so cowardly as to not face me head on, in a fair round of Dark war? I don't, so we're going here, and now." I said.

He looked at me for a moment, then told his friends to stay back. He waited.

"You strike first, as is traditional in Dark." I said.

He bent down in attack position, and threw a large orb-like round of electric Darkness at me. I dodged it easily, and retaliated fast. I brought up the Darkenss and thrust it at him as hard as I could, in a very wide-scale. He tried to dodge, but still was hit. He fell back on his feet. I stood, waiting for him to get back up. He got up with super speed, and became only a blur running around me in circles. I tried hitting him with darkness, but he ran right after them. He closed in, and I had a brilliant idea. I turned invisible, and stepped slightly to the side, putting my foot out. Without being able to see me, he could not know where I was to keep me in the center of the circle. After a sharp jerk on my foot, I heard a thump, then a groan. I turned around and saw him lying on the ground. I ripped off the invisibility, and then brought Darkness down on him again, but not electric, it was pressure. He was being pressed to the ground, and I held him there. One of his friends tried to intervene, but with my other hand, I knocked him back with an elementary dark technique. In my moment of weakness, the boy sprang up and sliced the darkness that was holding him.

I gritted my teeth. He preformed some weird sort of hand motion, and suddenly a whip of dark slashed me, knocking me off my feet and back several feet. I heard several cheers. I looked up and saw his friends and other onlookers cheering for him. I also noticed several teachers running out to stop us. I had forgotten the "no fighting in the courtyards" rule.

He grinned at me, and I glared back. No way was I letting him go now. I raised my hands up and brought them down fast. A large area was now in a Dark orb. Just me and him in the center. I smirked at him. Now he looked slightly frightened. He had no fall-back support. His friends were locked out of the circle. I stood there, completely still and silent. He looked around and saw nothing to aid him. "Can't we talk about this?" He pleaded.

".....No." I said quietly. I sprang intot he air and pushed with all my strength. The summoned Dark was pushed at him with the force of a tidal wave. He cried out, and got up shaking to his feet. Then his face lit up. He pushed at my dark orb, and found a weak spot. His friend was standing right there. With his own Dark, he pulled his friend in. His friend, who's name I know is Devon, had flight and fire.

"Ha, and you think this is fair?" I asked. I looked outside of the orb, trying to look for someone I knew who I could get to help me.

-Jack looked at Seeker. He nodded. Then looked back to where Hariet was standing. She was now gone. Hariet must have thought she was out numbered.-
" I think we should kill her. If we don't then she will kill us instead. There is no use talking about it. I'm going to go get Kiari." -Jack said without telling them why he was going to get Kiari. He sprinted down the hallway and turned left sharply. He slid to a stop his shoes making a odd sound. He looked through a window and saw Kiari outside. Jack jumped from the stairs and flew to the door. He flew above the crowd, making himself noticable.-
-Jack caught her eye.-

((Is Eve coming back? Haven't seen her in a while))

"Right." Said Seeker to the Keikoa. "That does it. We kill Eve. End of story. Now I'm gonna go find Jack and Kairi. Are you coming?" Without waiting for an answer, Seeker quickly ran after Jack. If she waited too long, she might lose him.

Seeker turned the corner and slowly caught up with him. He suddenly screeched to a halt and just there, in front of them stood Kairi and she facing off a couple of deady looking guys.

"What should we do Jack?" Whispered Seeker.

" I'm not sure." -Jack said without losing eye contact with Kiari. If it got out of hand then he and Seeker would probably have to try and stop somebody, whether it be the guys or Kiari.-

I looked up and saw Jack havering above the crowd, he made eye contact with me, and spoke to Seeker. Suddenly Devon blasted some fire at me, and i stumbled out of the way, loosing my eye-contact. The flames licked my arm, but nothing too serious. I got back up slowly, and took in the two guys. One could fly and had fire, the other superspeed and darkness. I had invisibility and darkness. Invisibility couldn't block attacks, it just made you unseen. I could use Darkness as a shield...and on attacks. I dodged two more attacks made by both of them. Then I had an idea. I looked back up and saw Jack. I opened a hole in the top of the orb, and made eye contact with Jack. I raised up my arms, both to bring down an attack, and to give him the idea.
The attack hit Devon, but the other guy dodged it.

Kairi motioned to Jack, asking for help. Just as Jack was about to move, Seeker put a hand out to stop him. "Wait. We don't know if Kairi's with Eve or not. What if she is? What if this is all part of her plan? What if those guys are working with her and that they're planning on fooling you into thinking Kairi's in trouble? Look, lets just wait a while OK? If Kairi really needs assistance, then I'll go and help her, but not you. We can't afford to have you hurt, and that's exactly what's going to happen if you intercept them."

I saw Seeker stop him. For the first time, a flitter of fear crossed my face. Devon noticed, and threw more fire at me. I dropped to the ground and it sailed over my head.

I gritted my teeth. If I didn't have Jack's assistance, I was going to have to do this myself, and it was going to cost me dearly.

I raised my hands over my head, closing the hole I had made in my orb. I brought my hands down slowly, causing the orb to shrink. The boy looked up at me, and recongnition crosed his face, he knew what I was going to do. I shrunk he orb more, and more. I could feel it's energy grazing my back. I stepped forward to let it shrink more. I was going to close it in on us. And it would mean defeat for the two guys, but since no one in Dark history ever did this, closing it in on themselves, I had no idea what it would do to me. I began to shrink it very fast, and soon all three of us were pressed in the middle. I closed my eyes, gritted my teeth, and threw my hands down to my sides. It took a moment for the orb to react to such a fast command, but then it shrunk to nothingness, our bodies forced to pass through it. I heard the boy and his friend cry out in pain, but I felt nothing. I didn't think I would, seeing how it was mine. But it had to have done something to me, it had to according to the Laws of Darkness.

I looked over and saw the guys unconscious. The crowd in front of me was completely silent, just staring at me. I pulled on invisibility, and planned to run so no one could look at me, but the invisibility didn't work. I stood there dumfounded. I had done it a million times! I tried it again, and again, it wasn't working. I looked up at the crowd and saw Seeker and Jack standing there with the rest of them. I tried to bring Darkness....it wouldn't come. I summoned every Dark thing I could think of, and it didn't work.
I stared at my hands, nonchalant. My powers weren't working. I looked back up, then turned and ran from the crowd.

I sat down in the arena, on the other side of the school. I was at the bottom of the stadium, sitting on the empty bleachers. I tried and tried again to summon the Darkness and pull on invisibility, but it wouldn't work.

I sighed and hugged my knees.

(🙂shock1: Holy crap! What the heck happened Kiari?))

After speaking with Jack, Seeker turned her attention back to Kiari. Something weird was happening. But what? It had something to do with Darkness, something Seeker knew nothing about. Just then, the energy surrounding Kiari disappeared. A flicker of fear crossed Kiari's face, and before anyone could figure out what happened, Kiari turned her back and ran.

Glancing at the guys, they were definitely out of commition. So without waiting another moment, Seeker went after Kiari. She found her sitting by herself inside the duelling arena, hugging her legs and rocking back and forth. Seeker took a deep breath and said, "Ok Kiari. What happened. You have to tell us. We need to know who's side you're on. If you haven't decided, then it's best that you do it right now. It's not too late to turn down Eve's offer. Come back to us Kiari. We can help you."

((Kiari...you'd better make up your mind about who's side you're on. We can't keep on assuming everything.))

-Jack saw the fear across Kiari's face and he immediately regretted not flying past Seeker but he did see what Seeker was saying.-

-Later, he joined Seeker with Kiari. He walked slowly, thinking. He waited for Kiari to answer Seeker's questions.-

I took a deep, shaking breath. "I want to be on your side. I was only considering Eve's offer, because she offered me my powers should they disappear. But they already have."

I raised my hand half-heartedly to show them. I summoned darkness, but a flit of light emitted from my hand.

"What happened? I'm not sure yet. The energy field was only supposed to close in around my enemies, that's how it had always been. Since I couldn't get out, I had to close it on all of us, resulting in this."

((hehe, sorry. Tension makes me feel weird, and right now, I'm in the middle of a lot, soo, I can't really concentrate on roleplay, but I'm trying my best, it's fun.))

Seeker sucked in her breath. "So it's happening." She then looked down at Kiari, and asked, "But I thought there was supposed to be some sort of potion involved. I mean, isn't that what Eve said? The first drop immobilize us while the second drop will enable her to take our powers. Maybe your loss of power is just a temporary thing. Maybe it will come back after you're rested." There was a hint of hopefulness in the tone of her voice, but deep inside, Seeker knew that that was unlikely. Powers don't just disappear like that. They can get weak, yes, but not disappear.

A sudden shiver ran through her body, and she shuddered. They have to act soon, or who knows what could happen? One of them has already lost her powers. It will only be a matter of time before the rest of them start losing theirs too.

"So Kiari, did Eve mention exactly how Jack and Keikoa can stop her?"

" More importantly, When will she do it?" -Jack said looking at the sky again. Something caught his eye. He saw someone on the roof but he wasn't sure cause the sun was right there. He blinked and the figure was gone.-
-He looked back at Kiari for an answer to both of thier questions.-

I bit my lip. "No. Personaly, seeing how I never said yes, she wouldn't have said so anyways. But if it's a potion, I might be able to help. And when? As soon as possible." I said to Jack.

I tried to make darkness again, and instead of light, some light grey smoke formed in the air. I found I could control it, and began to swirl it around and around.

"Well, I may not be able to fight with my powers anymore, but I'm still physicaly able, and I can entertain myself at least." I said, trying to sound cheerful, but my voice cracked.

"We might want a plan of action too, before we just charge ourselves around." I said, determined not to let self-pity take over me. "I'm sure I can be useful. Like, maybe if I could create enough of this stuff, I could make a distraction, or a screen of some sort." I said, referring to the wisps of smoke I was now twirling under and over my fingers.

I looked up at Seeker and Jack. I attempted a smile.

" Well, we need to find out where she is first. She would want to kill me and Kiekoa before she put in the potion. So basically, Me or Kiekoa is the bait." -Jack said, looking at Seeker hoping she could come up with something.-
