Essential Eye Care Tips – What’s Your Routine?

I’ve been thinking a lot about the importance of eye health and wanted to share a few simple yet effective tips that can help keep our eyes in top shape. I’d love to hear if anyone has their own routine or additional tips to add!

Here are a few basics:

  1. Follow the 20-20-20 Rule: Every 20 minutes, take a 20-second break to look at something 20 feet away. It’s great for relieving eye strain, especially if you’re on a screen all day.

  2. Wear Sunglasses Year-Round: UV rays can harm your eyes even in winter, so wearing sunglasses that block 100% UVA and UVB rays is essential.

  3. Healthy Diet: Foods rich in omega-3s, lutein, and vitamins C and E (like leafy greens, fish, and citrus fruits) are fantastic for eye health.

  4. Regular Eye Exams: Even if your vision seems fine, an annual check-up can catch issues before they affect your sight.

  5. Practice Good Hygiene with Contact Lenses: For those who wear contacts, proper cleaning and storage are crucial to avoid infections.
Does anyone have their own tips or habits for eye care? Or has anyone experienced noticeable benefits from incorporating these or similar practices? Let’s share!

There was an eye surgeon professor, he said close your eyes, count to 20 then open them again and must be done couple times a day.
Eyes get lot of restraint and that works as a refresh button.

These are such great tips for eye health! I love the 20-20-20 rule—it's a simple way to give our eyes a break during long screen time. I also try to eat more leafy greens and fish for those nutrients. I’d love to hear what others do too! Sharing experiences can really help us all take better care of our eyes.

My essential eye care routine includes wearing sunglasses to protect against UV rays, taking regular breaks from screens to reduce eye strain, and using artificial tears when my eyes feel dry. I also make sure to eat foods rich in Vitamin A and Omega-3s to support eye health. For supplements or eye drops, I’ve found Canadian pharmacy to be a reliable and affordable option.
