An Italian boxer abandoned her bout at the Paris Olympics after only 46 seconds on Thursday, refusing to continue after taking a heavy punch from an Algerian opponent who had been disqualified from last year’s world championships over questions about her eligibility to compete in women’s sports.

The Italian boxer, Angela Carini, withdrew after her Algerian opponent, Imane Khelif, landed a powerful blow that struck Carini square in the face. Carini paused for a moment, then turned her back to Khelif and walked to her corner. Her coaches quickly signaled that she would not continue, and the referee stopped the fight.

Khelif, 25, was permitted to compete at the Olympics even though she had been barred last year after boxing officials said she did not meet eligibility requirements to compete in a women’s event.

A female who had trained her whole life for this moment just got her dreams crushed and humiliated on a global stage.

Congratulations

She got destroyed by a man.we know what happens when 'trans women' 'compete' in women's sports they smash records, now they are literally smashing women's faces in a boxing ring and getting paid for it.

A few years ago when people said it's only a matter of time until they are in women's boxing they were called 'hateful transphobic bigots' 'hateful rhetoric ' etc. Louize made a thread about this last night but I think it got deleted. When they infringe on women's rights they call it 'inclusivity' and it's not just in sports.

Thank you @Bread. for posting this interesting article about the outcome of a boxing match in the sports section

@EYES is, as usual, and for reasons known only to her - ranting about trans people and her BS post is completely off-topic as well as being transphobic. This isn't even the debate forum and EYES decides to wade in. Talk about being delulu 🙄

I contemplated whether or not to comment on this, and if I did what would I say? Ultimately I felt I should. Also, Id like to point out this statement is just for the topic and not for support of the OP.

First and most importantly, my heart breaks for Angela Carini.

That comment deserved it on line in my opinion. Now on to the meat of the statement. I myself am transgender (MtF). Interestingly enough there was a thread made about trans women in sports to which I gave the same sort of opinion Im about to give now, which was about trans women specifically in womens combat sports.

I think there MIGHT be an argument somewhere out there for inclusion with some sports, but not any sort of combat sports. Thats just simply wrong in my eyes. Why do I say this? Personal experience in my every day life. Monday-Thursday Im at the gym for around 5hrs a day, some of this time is put into MMA style training with various martial arts. Obviously not full go UFC or anything, haha.

A lot of the time, the fighters take pretty big weigh cuts which help keeping them "bigger" than their opponent, making strength a key factor. Im no super human or anything, but I know my capabilities and strength when it comes directly to utilizing them in a combat sport and I will say right now there is absolutely ZERO chance I would ever become physical with a cis woman or ever dream of trying to enter womens combat sports.

I believe the Olympic Committee really got this one wrong, especially with this particular fighter. I believe in equality. I believe we are all one, we will bleed red, and we all have as much value as the next. I just think this was putting someone above another where it didnt belong.

As always, much love to anyone reading this whether you agree or disagree with my statement. Stay safe out there and never stop smiling 💜

And there we have a perfectly articulate and reasoned comment on the subject of trans people and sports ❤️

Khelif isn’t trans though

I wasnt sure to be fair, read a lot of different things and "answers", gotta love the internet 🤣🤣

Hopefully the overall message is things can be done differently and this wont lead to more so what my statement was spot on about.

Also I just like to talk, so 🤪

Check the title of the thread and the section of forums it’s in. It’s a sports thread, talking about a woman fighting a woman (as stated in the title). There is another thread in which you can express your views on trans people. You’ll also find some info in that thread to avoid you having to use g00gle.

The title says Female boxer destroyed by Woman.

Well haven't you made a fool of yourself again.

@Inkandtatts' response was aimed at Eyes, not you. He actually thanked you for the posting an interesting article.

Now, about who's been owned here...

Why are my posts deleted? Is it now 'offensive' to state facts about biology? Another biological male will be 'competing ' in the women's boxing event at the Olympics tomorrow. Taiwanese boxer Lin Yu- Ting.

I can’t speak for the UMs but it could be because it’s off topic. There is a designated thread for this type of chat.

I believe your posts are being deleted because neither of the boxers you’ve mentioned are trans. They’re biological women.

Genuinely never heard of the syndrome (if that’s polite?) until Louize posted so thanks for that. I get they’re are manly looking females and really girly looking men (no offence- the terms I’m used to) and to me she just has a really masculine physique and. I did think she was trans also at first until I read.

I think she would have been better fighting someone more of her calibre. Sometimes when the bigger they are, it’s harder for them to fall.

tl;dr- the committee accountable

Edit I think I’m in wrong thread 🤨
