Too much of any type of pill isn't good for the liver (took Tylenol PM for 4 years straight and I quit when a friend of the family died from liver damage due to an overabundance of Tylenol) and I'm too lazy to research whether or not marijuana has any harmful effects on the liver.

No reasonable person would want drugs to be legalised, unless they're druggies themselves, or close friends to druggies. Why? Because drugs make you do stupid things, and it completely ruins people's lives. Thus, it's frowned upon by society, thus I take people's pro-legalised opinion's with a grain of salt.
People like Jeremy here, for example. He did not represent a single VALID fact, apart from the third fact which is partly true (it has been a contributing factor to many other death related cases.) The difference between marijuana and poison ivy is obvious, just because it's a part of nature doesn't mean they are even remotely similar. Comparing and contrasting them to make your point stronger has no effect because it doesn't matter in the least. Even if marijuana were legalized, corporations would get their hands on it, and brands would form. Who wants that? Plus, legalizing it would make it more dangerous than it potentially can be. The drug being illegal doesn't mean people don't smoke it. We all know they do. But if the police see it, then they're in deep ****. Meaning we won't see people driving while smoking some weed. Maybe a few morons are already high while driving, but it being illegal is altogether better for society and weed smokers. Who wants weed made by a company, anyway? Besides, we won't need to worry about no weed sections in restaurants. Lol.

Marijuana IS a plant.
It is a plant that contains THC (Tetrahydrocannibinol), which is the psychoactive drug you're referring to. That would explain why it is commonly referred to as "Cannabis".
Now, if you want to play the wikipedia game, a drug by it's definition is "..any substance that, when absorbed into the body of a living organism, alters normal bodily function".
