For or Against Marijuana

What I'm wondering is that how they could possible know for sure that marijuana is a direct effect on reduced traffic deaths. Oh, right! They don't. They make that judgement based on the fact that alcohol was overall a less involved factor.

Here is a rather contradicting study made by Columbia University.

https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2011/10/111006173453.htm
I was wondering the same thing. The study only decided to pin the cause of less accidents to marijuana use. That's really not that scientific, which is usually the case with these kind of statistical studies.

Do they really think that the percentage of accidents will stay the same? The world isn't static, it is the result of others choices. What ba person does behind the wheel is what truly affects car accidents, not marijuana use.

What a bunch of crock!

Marijuana is no more dangerous then cigarette. Legalize mary jane! 😱k:
Actually, it's a well known fact that marijuana packs a bigger punch. By "bigger" I mean worse effects. Tobacco is only made worse by the chemicals added on to them by companies, which would probably also be the case with marijuana if it became an advertised substance.

I'm a minarchist. I think we would have less drug abuse if all the drugs were legal, but there was no safety net in society. 15% of American recieve help from the government, 9% of Americans are addicted to something. Maybe if we forced people to take responsibility for themselves we wouldn't need so many laws.

What do you think of marijuana? do you for it or against it? for me i am for it and always will be for it. here are some facts.

4th fact:
Marijuana has NO affects on a persons mental OR philosophical health

Wrong. Marijuana can trigger psychosis and even schizophrenia in certain people. It also can cause anxiety. It also kills motivation and can lower libido.

While I am a marijuana user and advocate the legalization, you are completely wrong that it has no negative mental health effects. As for physical, there are studies that show it has more carcinogens than cigarettes (all government studies, coincidentally). But these government studies don't provide you with all the information and they like to twist the truth. THC is known to kill cancerous cells and slow tumor growth, cancelling out a lot of those carcinogens. The cancerous effects of smoke are increased by nicotine, while they are reduced by THC. Also, heres another piece of information for you: "The cells of lungs and the respiratory passages are lined with nicotine receptors, but do not appear to carry THC receptors. This explains why cannabis smoking has not been associated with lung cancer."

It's hard to know which information you can trust these days, but the fact is, marijuana has not been related to any type of cancer or significant physical health problems and there has NEVER been a death from it.

Also, I lol'd at "philosophical health". Yet another stoner making the pro-cannabis argument look silly.

If it was legal, what age...18 like tobacco, or 21 like alcohol? (USA)

Is it easier for a 15 year old to wait outside a gas station and ask someone to buy them tobacco/alcohol, or contact a drug dealer and get marijuana / illegal drugs?

if it became legal, i think it would increase in use by underage teens because of its availability, and open use of it by adults.

Jesus Christ, just let this thread die already.
You always bump it again.

As much as I hate potheads they should make it legal. Everyone does it now anyways. What's the point of regulation?

It's already common in media and society, but on a much larger level than any other drug.

I don't accept marijuana use, but I also don't accept smoking, and yet smoking is legal.

People use other drugs too, does that mean they should be legal?
:hmm:
Rape happens everyday too, does that mean you should make it legal?

But in the end Marijuana is not legal.
So debating it on a chat forum will do nothing, just like the other marijuana threads before it.

People fling smoke in my face when I visit my father. Should that be legal? I don't agree, but it is.

People will do what they wish no matter what the law restricts. I don't agree with legalizing meth, or heroin, but marijuana use is equivalent to cigarette smoke.

It's about as annoying and nasty.

If people want to destroy their health and dull their mind like fools they should be allowed to do as such.

Chances are most of the anti-marijuana people posting in here use alcohol and alcohol is the worse drug ever - bar none.
That has to be one of the most ignorant comments I have ever come across.

A sip of wine has absolutely no effect on the mind. Besides a feeling of relaxation, a cup of wine does little.

Now, drinking a couple of beers will result in a huge difference.

Show proof that alcohol isn't the most destructive drug known to mankind or that alcohol doesn't kill more people than all other ILLEGAL drugs combined.

Proof? Do you honestly believe that alcohol causes more deaths and crime than all of the other drugs combined like meth, heroin, and crack?

You must be trolling.
