So, as I was saying before my original thread got derailed and wrongly moved, proving the point I was trying to make.

I don't think it's a good idea for forum mods/admins to be able to move,delete, close threads that they start or that they are the topic of or involved in. And especially able to edit posts or dms at will with absolutely no time limit on when they can be edited. It is a huge conflict of interest. When any kind of conversation or discussion can be endlessly manipulated. This is even more egregious as far as forum dms go. More so when the forum mods are also room admins. These are staff that users and fellow staff are told to message and come to with any issues. And those messages can be edited or outright deleted to change the narrative of the conversation. How is any user supposed to be able to trust and feel safe having any interaction with someone that has the ability to do all this.

It completely shuts down any meaningful discussions or the ability to come to any proper resolutions at times.

I would go so far as to say the forum staff should be completely different to any staff in the rooms to easily avoid this kind of conflict of interest. I apologize to any forum mods that do the right thing and treat their positions with the respect it deserves. It's a shame bad apples can ruin the experience for everyone.

Oh, so you're that asshole Polaris in Gen chat has been talking about for two years? Look, Tommy Tough Nuts, every time you mess with him, we gotta hear about it. Leave the man and his eye balls alone.
 
I just don't get this . There's been many times Gen Chat has been without any staff to cover the vulgar , sexual in nature postings from the so called " Adult " users that seem NOT to care about underaged minors so they post the crap anyways but , if you report it there's no point in that being there's NO staff to respond to the reports . I sit here and watch over Gen Chat like I have been for the last hour right after Apple Pie left guess what the flood gates of filth opened up when she left . Way to look out for the children that come here to visit and chat . There are rules set in place for a reason but without anybody to enforce those rules what's the point right ?

Hi, this is something that happens in most rooms. Once ******** see there’s no moderator they post things that violate the rules. I would argue that it’s still very important that you report these violations because once a moderator does log in they will see the report and can take action. Yes, it’s after the violation has taken place, but it still allows us to not only be aware of who is doing it but also to take action against their account.

It’s challenging to staff a room 24/7/365 but just because it’s difficult doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t have that as a goal. In Adult and Sex chat we have increased our staff numbers and also have staff from different time zones and (I feel) we do a pretty good job of having almost 24 hour coverage. Are there still gaps? Of course. But we do our best as a team to close them.
