When raising a complaint or query about a kick or a ban from a Chat Room, there is some key information you will need to provide to enable Staff to assist you:
- The name of the room you were kicked/banned from
- Your username in Chat
- Is your account registered or guest?
- Are you raising an issue about a kick or a ban? *
- When were you kicked/banned (date/approx time)?
- What was the reason given for the kick/ban?
- Why do you believe that the kick/ban was not justified?
*A kick can last from 2 minutes to 2 hours in all the rooms and from 2 minutes to 6 hours in Kids Chat. A ban will say that you cannot enter this site. A reason is usually stated on the ban screen. If no reason is given, please see below

How to raise a complaint
You can send a Private Message (PM) to the room Admin directly, with the relevant info listed above or you can choose to create a thread in forums. A full list of current Admins can be found
here. If your complaint is about a ban, only an Admin can issue and reverse bans.
If you choose to raise your issue in a public thread, you should note:
- This is a public forum and you are choosing, by making the complaint public, to give anyone (including non-staff members) the ability to comment on your complaint
- Some Admins require complaints to be sent to them privately and, in that case, your thread is likely to be closed and you will be advised to contact the relevant admin privately
- You should tag the Admin in your complaint post and, if you know the name of the Moderator that kicked you from the room, it is worthwhile tagging them Moderator so that they can be alerted to your complaint
To tag someone
Use the @ symbol and then start typing the person's name. It should appear and then you can click/tap it and it will turn blue (see below)
How long will it take to resolve the issue?
All Chat Avenue staff are unpaid volunteers with lives away from CA. Your complaint is likely to be addressed the same day but this is not guaranteed. We are a global community and as such it's likely that staff members will be in time zones that differ from yours so you should also consider this when raising your complaint.

If you see ban screen without any reason it doesn’t mean you’re banned. It means your IP is blocked until you’ve changed it and refreshed your page. Some of the reasons why your IP might be blocked:
- You’re using a VPN - the sites are blocking these. Often used in attempts to bypass bans and other suspicious activities
- Your country or state is blocked and/or it’s blocking the site
- An alternate account of yours has been banned
- The host might be blacklisted
- A bug. Try clearing history/cache
Once you’ve managed to solve the issue, your history won’t be affected. These temporary bans never show up in history. Sometimes there’ll be an automated kick instead, these won’t be included in history either.
However, anyone caught using VPN without a proper reason might get dealt with, kicked or banned.
To resolve this, message the room admin of the room you’re banned in with your IP Address ready to have them see the proper reason of the ban or to resolve any glitched/unknown reason for the ban page.
