For those of you who think Chatmaster actually cares about you or this website, consider this.

A user has been posting my picture for over a year, I have sent numerous photos to @Chatmaster. After a year of trying to get action, CM responded with contact the police. I feel that is a bit much, but I can file a claim with Breads local police department, but I am considering contacting his father instead.

Any suggestions? Perhaps from the staff? Maybe CM himself, I am in a bit of a pickle here, and I would prefer suggestions before I act, as this has been going on for over a year, and I would be lying if I feel I might be swayed by bias. Lol.

The thing is, what exactly could he be charged with? The police will tell Soup to block him, get in touch with the site owner (which he did) or not come to the site. If he could file for harassment, he's going to never engage with him because when he does, it's no longer considered harassment in the legal sense.

Is online bullying a crime? I don't even know, seems a call to the parents might be more effective.

At this point he is harassing and bullying, which is against the law.

the hell yes you can report them.
1) look up your local pd online. they most likely have an internet crimes division already established. file a report. sometimes you can go to them. sometimes they make you call emergency ( which is stupid , no ones dying) to come take a report. then they get with regional federal authorities and make a case. have your screen shots and proof pre calling. including the response from the person responsible for this website.
2) look up laws in your area, many areas have laws that using and posting your pictures is illegal, some are fines some are arrests and jail time .

4) MAKE YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA'S PRIVATE - i cannot express this enough. do not use personal pictures as your profile pics, change your display name. currently fb is the only platform that you can search up profiles by url ( fb makes profile names part of the url) and if it continues you can go one better and abandon the ones already out there on c/a and create new all private from the get go if friends/family still need to see what your eating for dinner.

it is TIME CONSUMING you may not hear anything for months. and some may become bigger than just your pictures online. this does not mean they arent doing anything if they are slow . and you are free to call and ask about progress. and yes some with not enough info does indeed get closed and goes no where.

If a user has spammed your picture for over a year though, and the website refuses to react, the website should be held responsible.

By your standard, I should be allowed to use your photo found in the forums as my photo, and then spam it in VGC for a year.
 
Users can be banned for disrupting rooms/spam. But the site can't stop evaders. (no one can otherwise evading would never be a topic)

This perhaps isn’t the best advice?….. did he ever blame the site? 🤔
He’s asking for advice, the least we can do is provide, not blame. Most trolls in VGC from my experience as admin there go directly to social media and stalk/search for users and get information and pictures from there. They then go as far as to call users jobs/family members. It’s obsessive and ridiculous.

I can see how calling familly work etc is harrassment, and going to the cops etc makes sense for that. The site would cooperate if asked. I was merely making a general point as OP seemed to be referencing the site- not VGC (or in his poll)

I dont think its blaming anyone to suggest personal responsibility. No one is suggesting anyone "deserves " harrassment. My point was more of the lines of, if you don't want to be mugged, dont walk along down a dark ally in a crime infested hood type thing.

And how does that help him particularly? The damage has been done. That advice is for someone that hasn’t had this done to them.

As for the answer to question how do you deal with doxxers considering doxing is same as blackmail or Extortion it is also something people get arrested for all the time in rewl life here should be no exception as Doxxing is a Crime

But hey its not the ******** job to ban and report a doxxer to authorities thats the job of admin admins do their jobs in other rooms and report them to authorities if they commit crimes but johnny doesnt whats that tell you?
 
It seems glob has a answer on what to do:

Johnny every other admin on chat avenue listens to problems that ******** have and tries to help and tries to listen to suggestins and improve the chat for better chatting experience all you do is silence them and do nothing are you really fit for admin? Every other admin seems to dissagree

I said the same thing- if the cops see actual criminality the site will assist as required.
 
And thats where johnny breaks law even if cops saw activity they wanted dealt with johnny dont care he has seen many criminals and bad people in chat and let them do whatever when someone asked if he was gonna deal with them he just responds ok and leave it alone

There’s a lot of bad people in chat. If you are referring to ILJ having a criminal record then report that to the police.

Hold the F up.

It is not a mods or admins job to babysit.

There are a lot of things that we will report to the authorities on behalf of those that can't protect themselves and we do spend a sh!t ton of time doing this in our own free time as part of our voluntary roles which involves screen capping conversations, compiling reports, submitting reports and then over the days, weeks and months, spending time on the phone with authorities providing them with more information etc.

But there are some things that ******** themselves can do if they feel there is an injustice, and when it comes to that, most mods and admins have the empathy and the desire to actually point you in the right directions and offer you the support and best advice possible to get your justice and the best advice on how to protect yourself in the future..
 
Really then why does it say on every room any predators or illegal content will be reported to authorities and banned

Because its admins job in each room

If you look at adult chat for example predators when mods and admin are on they are immediatly caught by them admin is alerted and they get banned and police get involved same with other rooms
