Guest lock out feature

I noticed on 321 chat (another chat site like this one) they have a feature mods or admin can implement that locks out all guests. Since this site, especially in general chat, has such bad guest spammer issues.. can chatmaster look into getting this guest lock out feature for this site also?

This site- offers guest accounts, and the relative anonymity they provide as a feature- privacy wise. It' is unlikely they would want to lose hundreds of users from a room, simply because of some spam now and again.

Most of the users in General Chat enjoy the room, and spam always seems like a storm to some- but it always blows itself out.

The most notorious spammer in gen chat right now goes on for hours... It won't be inconvenient for anyone to lock out guests for just a little while to get the one bad one out. And you can't even be bothered to block it because they just create a new guest account instantly after being muted or kicked.

oh a temporary delay? your initial post said "lock out all guests" That user was being managed quite well, I think its obvious if users had used "ignore" he would not be spamming. He has a temporary Ban per CM rules and the spam will stop when he's out out the chat hoosgow.

Banning them does nothing since they roll their IP.... And ignore feature is useless since as soon as you ignore the one account another rolls in almost instantly. But if y'all want to take good suggestions and throw them out the window instantly that's on you.. I tried at least. Maybe CM will read this and keep the guest lock out feature in mind. I doubt it but hey.. I can dream for a better chat experience at least.

To Clarify-- the management of specific users is much more nuanced. Your initial suggestion said to "lock out guests" Im just pointing out- dropping the room numbers significantly, to deal with a spammer that can be managed isn't helpful for my room. A short delay for guests- suggested before-(and perhaps that is what you really meant) might, but only helps if there is mods in the room. Thanks for your suggestion.

Thanks for the suggestion. This suggestion has been mentioned before many many times, by users and staff alike. Ultimately, it is up to the owners of the site to implement something like this or not. As of now they have chosen not to.
No one is dismissing your suggestion. Samwise gave you several well thought out responses. ✌🏻
