Has anyone else noticed how much their pet affects their mood?

I never really paid attention to it before, but my pet has become a huge part of my daily routine. On stressful days, spending even a little time with them seems to help me calm down and take my mind off things.

It actually got me curious about emotional support animals. I started reading about the difference between simply having a pet and having an ESA, especially when it comes to housing and the need for an ESA letter. I also found some useful explanations from My ESA Therapist that cleared up a few things I had misunderstood about the evaluation process.

It made me realize how differently people can experience the bond they have with their pets.

Do you feel like your pet has a noticeable effect on your stress or emotions? What do they usually do that makes you feel better?

When I lived with my parents, I had a dog. A Golden Labrador that I loved with my whole life. I was always way happier when I was with her. When I moved out, the thing I missed most was her. I think pets definitely have a huge part on your mood and how you feel.

I have a 6 year old tuxedo named Jynx. This dude walks me to the door when I leave for work, and he's waiting by the door, looking out of the window when I come home. Nothing, and I mean nothing, makes me smile more than that. He's been with me through some of the lowest parts of my existence, and he's brought me nothing but joy.

Pets, or fur kids, may not be for everyone. It could be fish or other creatures, even books for some, but they really do improve the quality of ones life.
