New Member
Just joined, trying to get oriented… have spent a couple hours working on getting webcam active with no luck (external camera, not phone or tablet camera). Is it a limitation for new members or are there instructions available? Advice much appreciated!

Hello and welcome to the site! If you Goo؜gle "online webcam test" you will find a site that allows you to test your webcam to see if it works through your browser at all. If that doesn't work, consult your user's manual to see if there's any drivers you need to install. Also ensure that Chat Avenue has permission to use your camera in your browser settings. I’ve been trying to use the sex chat room, but another problem I’ve been having is that it’s not accepting my login details, give me an error message “ incorrect, username or password“. Which doesn’t add up because it’s the same username and password I used to log into this forum. It’s the same login right?

Then it's your webcam, when HOLY SH!T ITS HAILING OUTSIDE, anyways it's your webcam because you didn't push the permission button for it to work lol
 
Most platforms allow the user to select the front or back integrated camera as a WebCam, but some also allow the user to configure an external camera so it appears in the same menu as another WebCam choice, or on a platform like yescams, they have an RTMP address and a unique streaming key for each room, and lots of iOS apps are able to make use of them. So far here on Chat Avenue I’ve only seen the integrated camera as an webcam option — on iPad anyway.

Lots of platforms have support for external cameras - iOS isn't one of them. iOS apps are able to view them, but I don't believe you'll be able to broadcast using one.
