Hocus and Pocus

(And yes, this means I'm back.)

He who fights the monsters must be careful, lest he become a monster, too.
And if he stares into the abyss long enough, the abyss will stare into him.
-Friedrich Nietzsche

Mr. Swan is a charming man. He has a charisma about him that cannot be matched by anyone else. His past is shrouded in mystery, but it is most certainly a long one. Mr. Swan's eyes are the colors of torturous lust and fleshly sins. His skin has the texture of lies, and his hair flows like blood.

Mr. Swan is an Incubus, and the founder of Hocus and Pocus.

Originally a school for magic in the early tenth century, Hocus and Pocus has turned its attention to the study of otherwordly beings, their habitats, and every aspect of paranormal research. Thus far, Hocus and Pocus' research has been very successful.

You've been invited to a ****tail party on a yacht. You graciously accepted, because who would pass that up? Mr. Swan will approach you and engage in conversation. Mr. Swan will ask you if you would like a job.

If you believe in that which hides in the mirrors, the whispers of the walls, and the corner of your eye, you will be wise to accept.

Keep in mind that this will take a moderate amount of research and a basic understanding of some mythology. Really, it's nothing you can't learn in two minutes on ******.

As an employee of Hocus and Pocus, it will be your job to hunt down, study, capture, and most likely kill the paranormal.

Everyone will be in up to four different departments (any number of people can be in the same department) and that will dictate what you do at Hocus and Pocus. The departments are listed below:

1. The Secrets That Pose Threats Department (Demons, Corrupted Sorcerers, Possessions and Violent Hauntings, etc.)

2. The Secrets That Hold Answers Department (Angels, Ancient Spirits, Artifacts, etc.)

3. The Secrets That Must Be Contained (Giant Sea Monsters, Griffins, Unicorns, Chimeras, etc.)

4. The Secrets That Will Become The Future (Weapons Research, How To Detain/Kill a Demon/Werewolf/etc.)

5. The Secrets That Have Corrupted Man (Religion and the Finding of Religious Figures, etc.)

Departments can and are encouraged to work together. If you come up with another department, by ALL MEANS work in it.

Mr. Swan can and will be in more than one place at once. He is more of a manifestation of your character's mind than he is a palpable being. How you choose to portray that is up to you, but he must be charming as all hell, mysterious, and calm at all times.

Some additional information regarding Hocus and Pocus:

1. Mr. Swan is the president, founder, and CEO of Hocus and Pocus.
2. There is no board; he handles all of that.
3. Mr. Swan is, excuse my language, a badass motherfucker and can fuck your shit sideways.
4. Mr. Swan is very intelligent and can easily find out about any mutiny within the company. This has happened before, and he dealt with shit. However, being the gentleman that he is, he will avoid conflict until the rebelling party confronts him, in which case he proceeds to fuck the rebellion right up and down.
5. Mr. Swan can be sent to Hell just like any other Incubus, and the details of such a banishment will be detailed below.
6. If you want a promotion or to propose the birth of a new department, Mr. Swan is all ears.
7. Every department handles its own paperwork, so if you burn a witch you'll have to file a report detailing how you did it and why she deserved it.
8. Hocus and Pocus has business rivals, and by that I mean that there is a group that doesn't particularly like mofos looking into otherworldly subjects.

HOW TO BLAST ON A CRANKY ASS SUCCUBUS/INCUBUS
Step 1: Light some candles and pretend it's for sensual effect. Since most escapees from Hell don't know anything other than how to die in Hell, they won't know what the fuck you're doing.
Step 2: Dip those fingers in that candle wax, dawg.
Step 3: PLUNGE THOSE MOTHERFUCKERS INTO THE EYES OF THE SUCCUBUS AND WATCH THE BITCH BURST INTO A COMBINATION OF FLAME AND ASHES
Step 4: Clean up the mess.
Step 5: File report.

Important Things to Know About Killing a Succubus:
•Glade scented candles won't do the trick. You need to use plain white candles that are meant to be burned and not smelled.
•Before the Succubus burst into flame and then falls into ash, it will revert back to its original form, which is an ugly ass old lady demon with floppy tits that will lunge at your neck. To avoid death, grab it by the hair and hold firmly.
•Some Succubi WILL know what you're doing, so be aware of that.
•While you attempt to kill it, it will be attempting to get in your pants and drain your soul. Simply plunging your fingers into its eyes is no easy feat, as you will also want to let it take over your body and ride you all the way to oblivion.

Character Sheet:

Name: Nolre Aperrelous

Age: Older than the times of Earth's chaos.

Appearance: Nolre is average height, with eyes the color of ashes and matted hair to match. His skin is pale, and his teeth are a very bright white. Hidden in the white part of his eye is a tint of yellow. Nolre is dressed in the clothes of a homeless alcoholic and has an unchanging five o' clock shadow at all times. Nolre's voice is the song of dead babies and suffering mothers.

Background/Personality: Nolre just happens to be an Incubus, which may be the reason for his job at Hocus and Pocus. He has known Mr. Swan for ages, but the two are complete strangers although they seem to be good friends. Nolre gravitated toward illegal activities on Earth (brothels, assassinations, etc.) but after the fifties he turned to a life of dirty alleys and drug dealing. Nolre is very handy with guns and musical instruments, as he has had a lot of time to practice with both.

Department(s):The Secrets That Pose Threats Department, The Secrets That Will Become The Future.

Talents: As said before, Nolre is well learned in the ways of music and gunfighting, as well as a list of languages that have long since been forgotten. Seduction comes naturally to his kind.

Additional/Misc. Information: Nolre is a *** addict.

?Do you believe in reincarnation, Mr. Aperrelous??

The boat swayed lazily on the ocean's waves. The other guests drank their champagne and conversed amongst one another while Mr. Swan and Mr. Zoller talked by the railing. Mr. Swan's face was flushed a dark red, and his eyes shone like the ice that chilled his brandy.

"Are you going to tell me about it?"

"Well, I don't know anything to tell just yet. But you seem like the kind of person who would. Am I right?"

"Well," Nolre started, taking a drag of his cigarette and exhaling it into the salty air, "our kind certainly believe in banishment. And I suppose that being sent back to hell and returning can be seen as reincarnation. But for humans, I don't think they get second chances. I think they rot in the ground and that they've fabricated religion and eternal life as a means to cope with such bleak truths."

"Now, see, I don't think that's the case."

"Well, you're drunk, Mr. Swan. I'm sure you're not thinking straight at all."

"I think, even though I'm slightly buzzed on man's-excuse-for-liquor, that man needs no such lies to cope with bleak truths. Mankind has always been exceptionally skilled in the adaptation of unfavorable conditions, whether they be snow, fire, or wind. I think that a body so sturdy is equally matched with a mind just as strong, and that--since they so easily grasp the concept of space's fastness and things--they should have no problem adapting to unfavorable situations, whether they be cancer diagnosis, or death by fire, snow, wind, et cetera."

"It's an interesting concept, I suppose. But I kill things with either guns or heroin, Mr. Swan, and I've most certainly never seen a man come back in another body. Is that why you've called this party together? Are you having this debate with every guest?"

"No, no, not at all. The reason for this little gathering of rejects and failures is much darker than idle conversation about reincarnation and how your sister is doing."

"She's--I don't know--somewhere in ****in' Brazil or something."

"I didn't ask, I was simply making a point. Now, as I was saying, much darker, idle conversation, the uninteresting is uninteresting and there's no way to change that so I avoid it. But, and do try to keep your mind open, Nolre, reincarnation is what I'm studying right now--"

"And you want meat puppets to kill and watch them come back in another form?"

"Oh, goodness, no. The eighteen thirties are over, Nolre. One notices one's absence nowadays. But these spiritual studies that challenge God's physics are very extensive studies, indeed, and I have regretfully come to the conclusion that I will be fucked over a splintered barrel if I do not gain more employees."

"Oh, you mean you want foot soldiers."

"No, I didn't--"

"Something else to throw into the fire."

"Now, let's not--"

"Martyrs, is what they should be called."

"That is enough."

A cold wind came up from the waters, and Nolre's cigarette went out. Mr. Swan finished his brandy and threw the glass over the side. He bared his teeth for a second and then ran his fingers through his oiled hair.

"I've been doing this for a long time, Nolre--"

"So have I, man. This business isn't a simple, 'Fuck up and you're fired' kind of deal. One little mistake and you could open your own vein. One little mistake and word leaks out about this or that and man flips shit, no matter who promises that they have control over the situation. You've hired demons before and even they lost their minds."

"It's time man saw between the fingers of the hand they so comfortably hide their eyes behind."

"That hand has been there for a reason. The Heavens--"

"Man's belief in such biased things has started more wars than even the most vicious abominations," Mr. Swan said sharply. The yacht fell silent, and Nolre lit up another cigarette. Mr. Swan's fingers gripped the railing, and he watched the yacht's wake.

"We will provide proper training and equipment. And I doubt any of these men and women aren't looking for something... important."

Nolre took a long drag and welcomed the burn in his throat. He exhaled through his nose and rubbed at his sore eyes. The sea wind ran its fingers through his hair, and Mr. Swan watched him through the corner of his eyes. Nolre grew nervous; Swan seemed to be studying him intently. Nolre rested both hands on the railing and spat into the ocean.

"Please don't do that, Nolre. We'll be meeting something very large and dangerous in a few moments, and it lives in that."

Name: Gabriella Breeze (Ella)

Age: Just over 400 years old.

Appearance:
SPL_08__Kinky_Chichi_by_ravenskar.jpg

Stands an inch over 6 foot, with an extremely atheletic body. Normally wearing tight linen trousers and a v-neck tshirt.

Background/Personality: Sidhe Fae. Is calm and reasonable as her race is; but has a reckless side that is very rarely seen in the Fae. Is picky about manners, having grown up as she has in the courts of Italy during the 17th Century as her parents decided that was best for her. Like a few others of her kind, she did not return to her own realm when modern life became too much but stayed in the mortal world, enjoying life as much as a beautiful, magical being could. Despite the fact she is never surrounded by family, she has attracted many supernatural beings and humans and is never lacking in company. This is how she came to Mr Swan's attention.

Department(s): The Secrets That Must Be Contained and The Secrets That Hold Answers.

Talents: Gllamour. Like the Succubi, she has the art of seduction known to those who lust over her kind as their 'fairy sex'. Handy with a knife and good at dancing too.

Additional/Misc. Information: Bisexual.

Gabriella's elegant, manicured hands rested on the gentleman's shoulders as her body slowly swayed to the music. She was not quite sure of his name or what he was, though she was sure he had mentioned it. A demon of some description, maybe.....? With the outragous snakeskin shoes he was wearing, she was sure of it. Only a demon would be as flashy and tasteless as that. She took a step closer to him, so their bodies were pressed against each other. She could feel the heat from him; but she was not interested in that, she was interested in the man standing one end of the boat, holding a brandy glass. She subtlely positioned herself so she could watch him.

He was deep in conversation with a young man who was smoking and the body language seemed strained at times. Gabriella could not stand awkwardness of any description but felt rude if she were to go over and interrupt them. She waited for them to break away from each other, for a pause in conversation until she let go of her dance partner, picked up two drinks and glided over to the two men. Her eyes flicked over the young man who was looking out into the ocean and she tried to stop her lip curling in distaste. He looked like a tramp. He didn't seem to notice her staring at him, though, he was preoccupied and his gaze was focused in the distance.

She handed over one of the drinks she had managed to procur to the good looking man in a suit, the man who had been in control of the conversation, hugged him and planted two kisses on both his cheeks in that casual way that only Faes could achieve. His intense stare swept over her and she had to stop herself from shivering. The Incubi had this effect.

'Ella, my darling,' he said in his baritone voice that promised sex and a whole lot more.

'Mr Swan,' she murmured softly as he took her hand and pressed his lips gently against it.

'I have heard a lot about you,' he said; with a chuckle that had no doubt melted many others before her.

'All good, I hope,' she said, looking at him from beneath her long eyelashes. He smiled in an ever so patronising manner, as though he was fully aware of what she was doing.

'Well, not all bad,' he replied, looking straight at her, his eyes penetrating right through her. 'Cheers.'

Gabriella was startled for a moment before realising that he was raising his glass to hers, another brandy that he'd almost finished. She let it clink against her glass of white wine and smiled at him.

'Cheers to what?' she asked him playfully. His eyes turned dark, destroying the mood.

'Reincarnation,' he answered. Now it was Gabriella's turn to chuckle, her laugh like the tinkle of a bell.

'Really, Mr Swan? You of all people should know the Sidhe Fae's view on that.' He took a sudden step towards her, stumbling slightly, and grasped her slim wrist. Her heart beat faster, as did the pulse in her wrist that he was stroking his thumb across as he watched her reaction. She took a deep breath inwards and, remembering her etiquette lessons and yoga, calmed down. He gave a quick grin at her reaction, almost as though he was proud of it and let go.

'But you are not an ordinary Sidhe Fae, are you, Ella?' The rumoured, at least the rumours she had heard, head of Hocus Pocus had still not taken a step back and their noses were almost touching. His warm breath tickled her cheek. He was trying to both scare her and excite her at the same moment. He would achieve neither.

'I hope you mean that as a compliment,' she said, trying to keep her tone light. He stayed where he was, though, as though he did not care that his efforts appeared to be in vain.

'Oh, but of course, but of course. Plus,' he added, flinging a hand at the other man. 'We'd both like to know what you think about reincarnation.'

Ella could not help but raise an eyebrow at Mr Swan's lack of manners; he had not even bothered to introduce her to his friend. Perhaps it was sheer arrogance. He had gotten her interested, however, so she answered his enquiry.

'Well, the Sidhe Fae are like most fairies. They're very into the nature so they believe in cycles and stuff,' she said, sounding almost bored. 'There's a great order of life and nothing is destroyed or anything. The Sidhe Fae believe in reincarnation, in a sense. They believe life is transferred into other forms but...'

She trailed off, trying to get her thoughts in order.

'But you?' Mr Swan asked, prompting her. She had noticed that the other man had not lifted his head from his gaze. It would appear he was not interested in what she had to say.

'But me? Well, I've never seen any proof of reincarnation. Sure, there are vampires and people being brought back from the dead but that's not reincarnation. They're not born again, they're still them. I think reincarnation is just an excuse for those that can not accept death. For cowards.' She stopped. 'Yeah, that's about it really.'

'Interesting...' Mr Swan said. 'I am not sure I agree, but interesting nonetheless. Another drink?'

{{I'm exceptional at waiting. I can do waiting. BUT Y'ALL BEST NOT LEAVE ME HANGIN'. 'CAUSE IF YOU DO.}}

Name: Eve

Age: unknown but has hinted to be at least 2,000 years old.

Appearance: Eve has a slightly tanned toned body, with her long blonde hair (always worn up) and green eyes to match. She looks to be about 25 years old. She wears glasses (decorative) and often wears a white coat.

Personality: Eve is a bit of a workaholic, she's rather mysterious, as she has often diverted questions about her immortality and background.

Background: Living so long as an immortal being, she travels to distant countries, and works every conceivable job, from doctor to mechanic to teacher.

Department(s): The Secrets That Hold Answers Department & The Secrets That Have Corrupted Man

Talents: She is multi skilled at almost everything due to her diverse background. She can fix machines (and engines), be a medical doctor, can research science (biologys, chemicals, physics, etc), and other things that she's picked up along the way. Also due to her travels, she knows almost every language known to man.

Additional/Misc. Information: Eve is somewhat of a religious person.

Eve comes up from below deck, holding her mouth in her hand while stumbling around. As she gets closer to Mr. Swan and his companions she stops short about two feet before hanging her body over the edge of the yacht and throwing up.

"Eve, my dear, after all this time, you still get sea sick?" Mr. Swan teases her a little.

As Eve tried to clean herself up, she turns to look at Mr. Swan "Ridiculous isn't it. Why did you even bring me out here? You know I'm not much of the front-lines person. I'm more of a protect-the-base kind of person."

"My dear, we could use all the help we can get. Having you here might help us if we require some of your skills quickly." Mr. Swan answers her.

"Why don't you let all of us know what your insight is for reincarnation?" Mr. Swan smiles as he already knows her answer. Mr. Swan and Eve have been working together for many years. He is probably the one person that knows her best.

"Reincarnation? Well, if you mean in the sense that your soul will continue to live on as your current physical body dies. Then I believe that it is very possible. The afterlife is a sort of reincarnation. Your soul will move from this plane of existence to the next as a form of reincarnation." Eve smiled back at Mr. Swan before feeling sick again and tossing half her body over the side of the yacht to throw up once again. She lingers there for a moment then sets herself up. A bit of her hair has come undone. She pulls her hair back into place and straightens her glasses.

Nolre flicked the cigarette into the sea and watched it disappear into the blue. Mr. Swan frowned, and Nolre scratched at his neck, preparing to speak.

"You guys know why he's asking about reincarnation? It's because most of the people on this boat are about to die."

Swan tried to hush Nolre, but he turned around to face the women that had come. Nearly meeting eyes with both of them, he continued.

"Do you two agree that it's time man opened their eyes? Do you know what happened last time they did such a thing?"

"Nolre, please, you're--"

"
The motherfucking Witch Hunts, that's what happened. Only three witches have died by man's hands in the entire history of civilization. No, Mister Swan. It's not time for man to open their eyes and it never will be. And to bring what is essentially an offering to whatever it is you want to show me is wrong."

Swan glared at Nolre with a face that offered no emotion. Nolre returned the look and snatched his boss' drink from his hands. He held it up to the crowd and drew attention to himself.

"
To living forever," Nolre shouted. The rest of the party did the same, and once they turned away Nolre poured the champagne on the deck at Mr. Swan's feet.

"
Just know this: none of these people are coming back. Ladies, enjoy your evening."

Nolre took his leave to mingle with the guests, and Swan's eyes watched him as he went.

Eve smiled at Nolre and gave a quick sly glance over to Swan.

"For someone that has lived as long as he has, he sure is afraid of death." Speaking to the remaining party. "So what are we expecting from this Mr. Swan?" Now just talking to Mr. Swan directly.

"You'll see soon enough, Eve." Swan evades the question.

Eve clutches her stomach and mouth as if about to throw up again. After a moment the feeling goes away. She walks over to the bar area and decides to do something about this sea sickness. She grabs herself a glass of ginger ale to sooth her stomach a tiny bit. Instead of going off to mingle with the other guests, she decides to go back down below deck.

Once down there, she helps prepare for every scenario. Eve does an inventory check on the medical supplies, survival gear, and weapons. Although, when she handles a gun, she has no clue if it is in working condition. She holds up the gun by the handle between her thumb and index and closely looks at it. "It seems fine." Talking to herself. She plops it down again without taking any real care.

{So, I'm gonna give this thread until Sunday, and then I'm posting.
I'll try to keep it going slow so newcomers don't come in after much of the expositions.
Also, I feel like we need some humans so go ahead and make more than one character if you want.
It's not mandatory, but it is encouraged.}

EDIT: Also, feel free to have your character switch or join different departments as the story progresses.

I think I may have mentioned that.

Name: Delial Van der Vries

Age: 22

Appearance: Delial is usually well dressed with slicked hair. He is clean shaven. He has dark brown hair and likewise eyes, and other than that he looks like an average American man.

Background/Personality: Delial was born in Chicago, Illinois, but quickly moved to the grimy backstreets of dying New York. He grew up around drugs and gunshots and is numb to danger. At nine, Delial was born with Asperger's Syndrome, which is the reason for his fascination with otherworldly things and languages. Delial was kicked out of the house by his ******* of a step father when he was just fourteen, and met Nolre in a suspicious alley. Nolre was kind to them, and since then they've traveled together and lived together, Nolre teaching Delial many languages, including some dialects of Hell.

Department(s): Delial doesn't work for Hocus and Pocus yet, but Nolre has put in a good word for him to be a communicator with paranormal beings. Soon he'll work in the Secrets That Hold Answers Department

Talents: Delial speaks many a language as mentioned before, but because of the Asperger's he is able to learn every detail about anything that fascinates him.

Additional/Misc. Information: Besides the Asperger's, that's pretty much it. He's not good in combat.

{{Ooh, I might just make a second character at some point.}}

Name: Jessy

Age: 18

Appearance: Jessy has dark curly hair which goes just a little past the middle of her back. Her eyes are dark and shaped like small almonds. Her lips are tiny like most of her other features. Standing at about 5'1" Jessy is often mistaken for a small girl, 'till someone catches a glimpse of her chest. (I'll edit more of this letter. For those of you who know me, if you can't already tell... this character is pretty much just me. Name and all, look at me.. being creative ~_~)

Background/Personality: After living in a strict and sheltered household for 18 years, Jessy left her parents house just a few months after her 18th birthday and moved in with her older brother Jack. Although Jack and Jessy have nothing at all in common, they share the same hatred for the house they grew up in. Jack works graveyard shifts at an old factory, while Jessy goes to school during the days and has a job bar-tending at a local pub on the weekends. She usually likes to keep to herself, but doesn't mind engaging people in conversation. Her best friends are her books, and she never leaves anywhere without a pack of cigarettes.

Department(s): ----

Talents: As far as talents go, the only thing Jessy is -skilled- at is spinning stories. Lying is second nature to her and almost a curse. Her mind hardly processes the situation, and already her mouth is spouting out some unnecessary lies. This habit of hers has gotten so bad, it's to the point where she can't even differentiate between her own lies and truths. She's starting to believe her own stories. Many a times she'll tell someone a different name and completely false life story and keep this up for months, then just disappear from said person's life. She won't recall these incidents at all either. The only reason she has any clue that she's done this is because of her brother, Jack. He is convinced that she is a borderline schizophrenic, but seeing as Jessy hates any type of doctors, she refuses to go and get herself checked out. SO BASICALLY OTHER THAN BEING A COMPULSIVE LIAR AND A PSYCHO BITCH, SHE'S JUST GOOD AT BEING HOT.

Additional/Misc. Information: She hates cars. She has her license but refuses to drive anywhere. She takes her bike or goes on foot, no matter the distance. She only listens to instrumental music, never anything with lyrics. Keeps a dream journal and she's a virgin.

(I WAS GOING TO POST TONIGHT, BUT I NEED YOSEF'S HELP WITH SOMETHING SO I'LL PICK THIS SHIT UP TOMORROW. AND AGAIN FOR ANY OF YOU THAT KNOW ME, THIS CHARACTER IS NOT MADE UP, THIS IS ME. JK I'M LYING. JK I'M LYING ABOUT LYING.... SEEEEEEE!)

Gabriella gave a tinkling laugh as she was left on her own with Mr Swan.

'Jeez, what's his problem?'

Mr Swan's eyes narrowed and focused on her.

'Trust me when I tell you that you can't even imagine,' he said, darkly and strode off, leaving her on her own at the end of the boat. She gave a small shrug, trying not to let it bother her and returned to the party.

She mingled among supernatural beings and humans, gently flirting with them all. All of them were at the sme loss she was as to their presence on the boat. None of them really knew what they were doing there.

As she reached for another glass of champagne, determined to enjoy herself, she felt a light tap on her shoulder. She slowly turned, a deep sense of foreboding washing over her. Her eyes met a familiar sight. A cigarette hanging out of the corner of a pair of lips that always seemed curved in a sardonic smile. A nose that had been broken too many times in fist fights to be considered attractive. Eyes that darted around suspiciously, as though they did not trust anyone but anyone did not trust them either.

She took a step backwards, not wanting to deal with him right now. He had other ideas, however, and curled a strong hand around the top of her arm.

'Ella,' he murmured softly. 'I did not expect you to be here.' She gave a bitter laugh, he had not changed at all. He was incredibly arrogant, thinking that he was the only important one. She had proven him wrong on that account.

'James,' she replied sharply. Far sharper than was imagined possible for her race but then humans always did irritate her. 'I did not expect to be here, either.'

He gave a deep chuckle, as though her reaction deeply satisfied him. He always did manage to annoy her and reveal her true self beneath the calm exterior she liked to portray. She had not seen him in a few years, they had not parted on the best of terms. His lifestyle did not suit hers and neither were willing to change. A conman and a fairy would never be a good match. He knew criminals and she knew demons. Despite the amount criminals and demons mixed in the world they lived, the social circles they ran in were completely different. Ella never did appreciate all the crack dealers he bought back to their apartment in New York.

'What do you reckon it's all about?' he asked lazily, in the beautiful Irish accent of his. Ella shook his hand off her arm, and brushed a loose tendril of hair behind her ear haughtily.

'No idea,' she replied, the gossip in her refusing to be provoked. She had heard rumours about the elusive Mr Swann, and how he was hoping to set up departments to control paranormal activity of any sort. She had also heard that he had very little patience for humans so she was not quite sure who he was trying to protect. James took a small step towards her, his grin widening and the dimples showing in his cheeks. He knew when she was lying. He touched her arm again, but with none of that force before. He stroked her inner arm gently, bringing back unwanted memories.

'Really, Ella?' Her eyes burned with fury at the unwanted intimacy that she avoided with him for so long.

'Yes, really!' she snapped, her voice raised. A few bystanders glanced over at them but James shook his head to indicate there was no problem and they returned to their own conversations.

'Because I coulda sworn you know,' he said. 'I saw you talking to Mr Swann. I know how you like talking.' The last comment was a dig at her. She had almost got James Gunn arrested due to her affinity to gossip. She was boasting about an art heist he had managed to pull off in a very public place. It just so happened she was sitting behind a retired policeman who did not think twice to report the comments she made. Without thinking, she drew her arm back to throw the glass of champagne she was holding all over the young man in front of her. However, her action was interrupted by the tinkle of metal on glass. Mr Swann was standing on a raised platform at the front of the boat, tapping a champagne flute as though he was reading to start a speech.

The whole boat fell silent and all turned to look at him.

Name: Bobby "Flay". Bobby stopped using his real surname some time ago, so once when he was arrested on suspicion of arson he gave his surname as "Flay" on a whim because he thought it would be funny. It was.

Age: 17.

Appearance: This. Plus an eyepatch, and a top hat (ohyes).

Background/Personality: Bobby ran away from home when he was a young teen, simply because he felt like it; school bored him, his parents bored him, everything around bored him. Since then he's just wandered around doing whatever he felt like at the time.

He essentially does nothing more than float through life. He has little to no ambition and does most things simply to stave off boredom. He doesn't care about those around him and steals and kills without any guilt. Unlike your typical psychopath it's not because he lacks empathy, he can easily understand what others feel, he just doesn't care. If he feels like doing something then he will, without regard to how it might affect others.

Department(s): None as of yet, as he has not been employed by Hocus and Pocus.

Talents: From spending a lot of time on the streets he's become a skilled free runner and thief, as well as learning how to use both guns and knives; his experience with the former is basic, but with the latter he's very proficient as he prefers blades. He's also a natural at using anything on wheels, from rollerblades and skateboards to cars and trucks.

Additional/Misc. Information: Bobby has a thing for fire. He enjoys starting them, including the one that got him his new surname of "Flay", and has a tendency to somehow remain mostly unharmed by them due to some form of luck, he assumes.

Bobby was leaning up against the cabin wall to one side, looking around at the people mingling. They certainly were an odd bunch, but then what had he expected from a party that he was invited to by having found a letter lying on his chest one morning when he awoke in a place he'd never visited before? It had even had his name on it. Whoever had managed to pull that off was certainly worth meeting. Plus it was a party on a yacht. How often did you get invited to that kind of shindig?

An oddly tall and slender woman gave him a strange look as she passed by. He tilted the brim of the top hat he'd "acquired" on his way to the party, lifting his glass of champagne to her. To his surprise she smiled at him, despite his lack of one to her, before continuing on her way.

With not much else of interest happening he headed off to one of the neglected areas on the back end of the boat, leaning on the bars and staring off into the horizon.

"Wonder when this Mr. Swan guy's s'posed to show up," he thought aloud, downing the rest of his drink and then tossing the glass off into the water.

As he was about to turn to leave he caught something out of the corner of his eye and looked back. There were some bubbles rising to the surface. His brow furrowed for a moment, but then he shrugged it off and walked away. Halfway back to the crowd he heard someone calling his name and turned.

"Mr. Flay," there stood a rather unusual looking man, dressed in a very fine suit, with slicked back, black hair and a rather sinister smile that made his eyes glint in an ever so slightly menacing fashion. "So good you could join me this evening."

"Just Bobby's fine," the teen said simply.

"Bobby," he repeated. "I'm Mr. Swan, a pleasure to meet you." He strode over and took a hold of the boy's hand before he had a chance to react, lifting it up into a firm shake.

"Yeah, same." He gave a brief shake back before releasing the man's hand, somewhat thankful he did the same.

"Well," he turned suddenly, distracted, as though he'd heard something Bobby had clearly missed. He turned back abruptly, "My apologies, my boy, but it appears there's something I have to...attend to. Let me assure you, I would not be excusing myself unless it was urgent."

"No problem."

"Well then, until we next meet. Hopefully we'll have a chance for a proper introduction a little later on," he turned and walked off briskly. "Hopefully," he repeated under his breath, the very tone making Bobby positive the man was smiling.

He barely blinked and Mr. Swan was out of sight, somehow disappearing into the crowd of people that were still a good few feet from where he'd been standing just a moment ago. Bobby shrugged and turned, following in the same direction as the man towards the other passengers, unfazed.

"What a bunch of freaks. Guess I'm at home."

As Eve arrived once again on the top deck, she heard the tapping against a glass. She turned towards the sound and saw Mr. Swan about to make some kind of speech.

Mr Swan gives his speech in a loud and charismatic matter. "Ladies and Gentlemen. I'm sure you are all wondering why you are on board this evening. Well I am here to explain everything. As you are aware, not all of you are human, and not all of you are mythical creatures. But today, and I suppose in the past as well, come here together to help solve a problem of the bigger picture. We are out here for a particular reason. There is something beneath the waters that we are floating on. We are here to understand it better, make sure it's not dangerous, and if it is, hopefully with all our skills combined we can take care of it."

Right in the middle of the speech, the boat begins to move, as if something has hit the bottom of it and trying to tip it over.

"Mr Swan, if you don't mind cutting the speech short, I think the problem we have to deal with is right now." Eve politely suggests.

"Of course. Ladies and Gentleman, if you please prepare yourselves for what you're about to face."

Name: Del

Age: N/A (She doesn’t really remember. At least a few hundred years.)

Appearance: Del is very small and looks to be a girl of only about fifteen. Her eyes always change colours, but they are always completely different from one another. Her hair is constantly changing, too. From colour to style. The style is usually something like shaving off half of her head and leaving the other long and flowing, or tying parts of her hair into elastics and cutting off the rest. Right now it is dreaded blond and with pink and green bits throughout, going down to just about her shoulders. The way she dresses is always crazy. She will wear two different shoes, stockings, gloves. Her outfit usually looks like she dressed herself blindfolded. The only real consistency is the torn fishnet leotard she wears under almost everything.

2056upt.jpg

Background/Personality: Her name Del stands for Delirium and is very fitting. She really is quite mad. Though this isn’t difficult to guess due to her bizarre appearance. She has a terrible memory and always asks if there is a word that means a certain thing, like the feeling in your mouth when peanut is stuck in it. She has all but completely forgotten who she is or where she came from. She is very airy and childlike, and can be shy. She is generally pleasant and difficult to provoke, but the second you do manage to cross her or make her angry, she’ll use her ability to torment you and make you as mad as her. If she is really angered, she will act out violently and literally tear the person to pieces. The only bit of her history that is documented is that she used to be known as Delight and was a much more composed, logical (though still very kind) individual. It was around that time that she was noticed by Hocus Pocus. The circumstances surrounding Del’s transformation from Delight into Delirium are unknown to most, as she herself cannot remember.

Department(s): The Secrets That Pose Threats Department and The Secrets That Have Corrupted Man

Talents: She has the ability to conjure very realistic illusions, or tulpas. They can actually be felt, tasted, heard, touched, as well as seen, and they can be interacted with. If she conjured a dog, it would respond to contact by the viewer. However, there are limitations to this. For example, if she conjures the illusion of a bullet wound in your chest, you will be able to feel the wound, but it won't actually hurt you. Basically, while they can inflict pain, they can’t inflict corporeal damage.

She is also, surprisingly, quite physically strong. However, this is rarely ever seen. Del will always avoid a fight if she can, but when she is severely angered, she will act out violently. Her bursts of rage are completely sporadic and she usually doesn't stop unless she's restrained or tears her target to pieces. She blacks out when she is in this mindset and completely forgets what has happened afterward.

Additional/Misc. Information: Del loves colours, as her style of dress usually represents. She loves animals, candy and multicoloured things. She often refers to Mister Swan as Mister Goose and overuses the word "absolutely."

Del was sitting off away from the crowd of dancers and talkers. She was wearing a long, torn baggy sweater that went down to her thighs, and the usual fishnet leotard underneath. Her caretakers within Hocus Pocus had given up a long time ago and getting her to look more presentable, finding it easier to simply let her dress herself. Del was sitting down against the glass along the side of the deck, with her knees pulled up to her chest. She was holding a conjured string that was wrapped around a large, blue fish that floated around her head, who she’d named Stanley. Just as Stanley was beginning to annoy her with his constant swimming, she was approached by one of the caterers.

“Can I get you anything to drink, Miss?” he asked politely.
“Oh, no,” Del replied, staring down. Then suddenly she sprung up and looked at the man with a grin of excitement. “But I am absolutely famished.”
“Well, Miss, there is a buffet just over—”
“Do you have those little chocolate men,” she asked, holding one index finger over the other to emphasize the size, “filled with tomato sauce and black liquorice for eyes? But no mouths, because then they would make tiny, squeaky sounds while I eat them,” she added with a giggle.
The man looked very confused and reached up to rub the back of his neck. “I don’t…believe we serve those, Miss.”
Ohhh,” Del sighed sadly, her face melting into a frown. “Well do you have anything with chocolate, tomato sauce, black liquorice and no mouth?”
“I…well…”

Mister Swan appeared, walking up behind the caterer. “No, Del, I’m afraid we don’t.” He gestured for the young man to move along and he did so happily. “Are you enjoying the party?”
“No, not really,” Del replied. “Why did you make Nolre angry again?”
Mister Swan shifted a little. “We were just having a heated discussion.”
She shook her head. “No, when you do that he has a funny smile. When he’s angry his nose gets scrunchy and his nose was absolutely scrunchy.”
“Perhaps you should go introduce yourself to some of our guests,” Mister Swan suggested in a desperate attempt to change the topic of conversation.
“No thank you,” she said simply. “I’m just going to talk to Stanley.”
“Stanley?”
“My pet fish.”
“Ah.”
“Stanley, say hello to Mister Goose,” she instructed. The stringed fish smacked its lips in reply before continuing to swim. Del scowled and snapped the arm that was holding the string, causing the fish to disappear. Gosh, wasn’t that constant swimming just absolutely annoying?” she exclaimed.
“It’s a regrettable tendency among fish,” Mister Swan lamented. “Del, perhaps you should—”
“Oh, look!” she cried, catching sight of one of the guests who was standing off to the side, wearing a top hat. “Look at that hat! Isn’t it absolutely wonderful!?”
Mister Swan turned and smiled. “Ah, yes. Mister Flay.” He turned back to the girl. “Del, would you excuse me for a moment? I’ve been meaning to speak with this young man.”
“Okay,” she sang and skipped off to the buffet that had been previously mentioned by someone she could not recall.

Del wasn’t particularly hungry, but she enjoyed turning the food into shapes that sometimes made sense and sometimes didn’t. A very tall, pretty lady walked by with sparkly green eyes and gave Del a friendly smile. She smiled back and was about to make a flower appear for her, but she noticed the girl became distracted. When she turned to see what she was looking at, she noticed Mister Swan making a speech. Del scowled at him, but turned to listen anyway as Mister Swan became very cross when people ignored his speeches.

"Ladies and Gentlemen. I'm sure you are all wondering why you are on board this evening. Well I am here to explain everything. As you are aware, ....."
Gabriella was devoting all her attention to Mr Swann, trying not to glance at James out of the corner of his eye. He wasn't even trying to hide the fact he was just staring at her and smirking. She tilted her head haughtily up, trying to pretend he was not bothering her.
....the past as well, come here together to help solve a problem of the bigger picture. We are out here for a particular reason. There is something beneath the waters that we are floating on. We are here to understand it better, make sure it's not dangerous, and if it is, hopefully with all our skills combined we can take care of it."
Mr Swann took a small bow and almost on cue, the boat rocked. Gabriella's heart starting beating fast but not due to fear. She was excited. Her hand patted the side of her dress, where a large knife was strapped to her thigh. She knew better than to go anywhere unarmed. She noticed many others around her doing the same and making sure their weapon was close. A woman she recognised from earlier whispered into Mr Swann's ear. He addressed the crowd again.
"Ladies and Gentleman, if you please prepare yourselves for what you're about to face."
There was nervous chattering and the tension was almost palpable. Gabriella felt none of this, instead a deep feeling of anticipation and adventure. Her mind whirred quickly, debating all the creatures it could possibly be.

James watched Gabriella carefully, not taking heed of anything Mr Swann was saying. He had no need for manners or social norms, at least not in the world he lived in. Criminals didn't give a fuck about saying 'please', 'thank you' or 'sorry' if they sold you crack or shot you through the head.
He hated the very sight of her. Stupid bitch. The ginger hair, the green eyes, the stupid fake smile that hid so many flaws. Although many knew of the Sidhe Fae, hardly anyone really fucking knew her. Knew her manipulative ways and pure fucking selfishness. James felt his fingers curl up into a fist and his nails dig into his palm, leaving little cresent marks. She pretended to be ignoring him, but every so often her glance would slide over to him. He smirked. He always managed to get through her well practised defences.
He vaguely noticed that the background noise had stopped, Mr Swann's speech was over. He had caught snatches of it and it did not amount to much. 'working together' blahblahblah. He had learnt from experience not to trust anyone. He was just about to make another caustic remark to Gabriella when the boat rocked. Something was hitting the bottom of it.
In a blink, he lay both hands on the two guns he had concealed on his body. Whatever this was, he was ready for it.

Eve wasn't thrilled that the boat was being rocked back and forth. It made her sea sickness even worse. While she spots everyone grabbing for their weapons and tools to help contain this situation, Eve grabs for her mouth and once again runs to the side of the boat to throw up.

Eve cleans herself up after she throws up; as she looks down in the water she sees a tail of a shark.

No shark can rock a boat this size. Eve thinks to herself. She collects her thoughts for a moment, only to see another glimpse of what's underneath the waters, a man?s arm puts up momentarily. Eve quickly figures out what she's up against. With all her studies, she knows almost every mythical creature to exist. With her vast knowledge, some would say she is a mythical creature herself, but she is in fact only human.

"Mr. Swan, you should of told me we're up against an Adaro." Eve seemed stern in her tone. Mr. Swan just smiled. "But that would ruin the surprise, Eve." Working with him for years, she should of expected this from him. She did love it when he challenged her knowledge like he did just now. She hopes to one day be able to beat him in a game of chess.

Eve doesn't have any combat skills what so ever. She was very much a pacifist. She would rather try her best to capture before she would kill. But then again, she's usually back on headquarters doing her research into various artifacts and creatures. After all, her job is to understand the strange things that come into Hocus Pocus.

(OOC for those of you who do not know what an Adaro is.)

When the boat shifted, Nolre retreated into the cabin to speak with the captain. Delial was examining the machinery and running his fingers along the wooden panel.

"Interested in boats?," Nolre asked with a smile.

"That man there has Fetal Alcohol Syndrome."

"How do you know that," Nolre said quietly while examining the captain's features.

"He looks like a toad. You've been smoking again."

"He could just be--"

"Don't change the subject," Delial said sharply. Nolre frowned.

"I've been stressed."

"Yeah?"

Nolre didn't answer him. Instead, he put his hand on the captain's shoulder.

"Has Swan told you what to expect?"

"Yes sir."

Nolre narrowed his eyes. Swan hadn't told him anything, and half of the party consisted of arrogant humans that weren't prepared for anything other than a sour confrontation with a business partner.

He left the cabin, ignoring Delial's warnings about tobacco, to find Mr. Swan. The man was flirting with a young lady and making her giggle uncontrollably. Nolre walked briskly toward the two and threw on a fake smile, grabbing Swan by his shoulder and squeezing almost too tight.

"Excuse me, miss, can I borrow this old charmer for a moment?"

The woman smiled. "You're the guy that had the little outburst earlier, aren't you?"

Nolre's smile faded just slightly.

"You're going to have a miscarriage in a few months."

"But I'm not even pregnant."

Nolre's smile was suddenly authentic and wry, and he pulled the old man away from the other guests. Mr. Swan smiled a hollow smile.

"Did you hear that Guy Fieri died?"

"What have you gotten these people into," Nolre demanded.

"My friend, you underestimate the talents of the invited guests. You are well aware of the people here that work for Hocus and Pocus. There is nothing to worry about."

"Only a few of these people can handle themselves."

"Then the rest are weak and deserve to be rubbed out."

Nolre stood speechless. He hadn't expected Swan to say anything along those lines. The man smiled at the woman he was flirting with before, and bore into Nolre with empty smiling eyes.

"Research, Mr. Aperrelous. Half of what we learn is untrue; lies conceived by man get in the way of most things. When we try to communicate with figures of religious mythology, one entity can be three others. Zeus is God, God is Odin, et cetera. Man has created his own theories and words, and we must break them down and find the light."

Swan took a cigarette from the pocket of Nolre's coat and lit it, exhaling into his friend's face.

"The ones on this boat who will die today are those who need to in order for us to understand, Nolre. These deaths are necessary."

Nolre bit his lip.

"Don't fool yourself into believing you have a conscience."

Swan left his employee in a cloud of cigarette smoke and Nolre stood alone by the railing, glaring into the yacht's wake. For a moment, he thought he spotted a face in the water, but it disappeared. Delial appeared at his side.

"I've been counting the guests. Four men are missing."

Nolre paid no attention to Delial and instead examined the water closely. There were things under the boat, and his reason told him they were just dolphins.

"Five."

"What?"

"Five. There are now five people missing."

"What are you talking about."

"Five people have been pulled over the side of the yacht."

Nolre's hand went to his gun.

"Do me a favor and find Del, will you?"

Delial nodded and was off. Nolre took a cigarette from his pocket and lit it, sliding his fingers around the grip of his gun while his throat was lit on fire. His eyes searched the water and spotted another face. He quickly drew his gun and fired a shot into the water, drawing blood. The guests all looked at him quickly, and he returned his gun to his holster.

"It's a party, people, lighten the fuck up."

I updated Del's profile, so she can actually do something offensively. :army:
---

Del was standing along the side of the boat, watching the man with the large top hat looking confused. She had half a mind to go ask him if she could borrow his hat, but she was a little afraid of strangers and rather shy when it came to making conversation. Instead she just watched as he looked around, appearing rather paranoid after Mister Swan?s speech.

Something caught her eye however, and she turned to see a slimy blue arm snake up over the deck and grab onto the leg of one of the guests. In a swift move, so fast the man had no time to scream, he was pulled overboard. Del raised an eyebrow and then turned to the water herself. She saw bubbles rising and dark figures moving beneath the surface. A wide, excited smile appeared on her face as she leaned over further for a better look. Out of the water popped a creature with a bald head and scales. Del recognized it from somewhere, but she could not for the life of her remember its name.

?Excuse me,? she said, leaning a little further. ?But I simply cannot remember your name. I think it?s something like Andrew, but I can?t be sure. Maybe??

The creature snaked up an arm, much too quick for Del to dodge, but before it reached her, she was pulled back. She turned to see Delial standing behind her, his arm around her waist from having pulled her to safety. Del smiled brightly up at the man.

?Delial! Do you remember the name of those things? I thought it might be Andrew, but??

?It?s an Adaro, Del, and you?ve been told to be careful around them,? he interrupted.

?Ohhh,? she said, turning back to the water. ?That?s right, I remember now.? When Delial informed her that Nolre was looking for her, Del frowned. ?Oh no,? she moped. ?He?s not still angry, is he? He?s absolutely impossible to be around when he?s angry.? Delial assured Del that Nolre was indeed not angry and she perked up and followed him to where the incubus was standing.

?Nolre!? she cried elatedly as she ran up to him. ?I just met an Adaro named Andrew.?

Nolre almost genuinely smiled when he was approached by Delial and Del.

"Nolre! I just met an Adaro named Andrew."

"Oh yeah? What's he doing here?"

"I think he was trying to tell me something, but Delial pulled me away before he could." Del glared at Delial.

Nolre took a drag on his cigarette and glared at the back of Mr. Swan's head. There was something that Swan was keeping from him, and his sudden distrust uneased Nolre.

"Del, could you do me a solid?"

"Sure!" Her face lit up.

"I need you to find everyone on this boat that works for Hocus and Pocus and tell them to get ready for a yellow threat."

Elsewhere on the yacht, a woman began to scream that her husband had fallen overboard. Nolre flicked his cigarette onto the deck.

"I have to go Del, just make sure you tell everyone."

Del looked at behind her at the woman screaming for help and then back at Nolre, still beaming, "Okayyy. A yellow threat, I can remember that."

Nolre rushed past her to save the man overboard, jumping over the railing and into the cold waters. Nolre resurfaced to see the man being dragged away from the yacht and swam fast. His efforts were fruitless, however, as the Adaro swam much faster. Nolre cursed loudly and turned back to the yacht, which had drifted away from him. An arm reached around his waist and he threw a heavy elbow behind him, then turned around to see an Adaro accompanied by two others. The leader, who was decorated with runes and signs, spoke in Mertongue.

"Why do you kill us?"

Nolre took a moment to remember the dialect, and then responded with anger in his voice.

"You're stealing people off of the boat!"

"We save your kind," the Adaro said, placing his webbed hand on his chest, "from the great evil."

Nolre narrowed his eyes and was about to ask what the merman was talking about when something very large passed under him, creating an impressive wave in its wake. One of the other two warned the speaker that they needed to leave immediately, but he brushed them off.

"You too are a thing of great evil, yes?"

Nolre ignored his heritage.

"I need you to help me save the other humans from the great evil," Nolre said.

The speaker nodded, but the Adaro that had warned just a moment before spoke rashly.

"Your survival is not our affair. We must save ourselves!"

The brave Adaro hissed at the selfish one.

"You are cowardly. You disgrace our kind with your fear." The bravest turned back to Nolre. "I will help you, demon. My name is Alt'horian."

Nolre nodded and thanked the Adaro, and then grabbed its hand so that it may drag him quickly back to the yacht. Whatever lurked beneath the depths brushed up against the bottom of the yacht, and Nolre quickly climbed the ladder to get back onto the yacht. The woman ran over to him and slapped him.

"You let him die! You let him die you mother-"

She was dragged over the side and Nolre watched as an Adaro pulled her away from the yacht until a thick tentacle burst forth from beneath the surface and pulled the two down into darkness. He cursed and looked amongst the crowd to find Swan.

Spotting the Incubus, Nolre pushed through the crowds toward him. Something slammed against the hull of the yacht and nearly capsized it, causing everyone to fall onto the deck. Another large tentacle burst out of the waters and grabbed a man, pulling him down into darkness. Mr. Swan was already at his feet, perfectly dry and smirking. Nolre cursed again and tried to push himself to his feet but was knocked back down when a third tentacle slammed onto the deck and crushed a man, then dragged his bloody mess of a body over the side, taking the railing with it.

Nolre looked around again but Swan was gone. He jumped to his feet and ran into the cabin only to find Delial asking the captain how long it usually takes for ships to sink. Tears were in the captain's eyes. He was praying.

"God doesn't listen, you know."

"Lial, leave the man alone. Where's Swan?"

"I dunno, I haven't seen him all night."

Nolre was thrown into the wall of the cabin when another tentacle slammed onto the deck, creating a large crack that exposed the living quarters below.

Nolre rushed past her to save the man overboard, jumping over the railing and into the cold waters. Del skipped into the crowd an approached a man dressed in a suit. He was showing his gun off to one of the Elvin-looking ladies, who Del knew to actually be a succubus. She tugged on the male?s shirt and when he turned to her, he furrowed his brow.

?Yeah, whaddaya want?? he asked.
?Nolre wants me to tell you to get ready for a yellow threat.?
The man looked completely perplexed. ?A what??
?Uh oh,? Del frowned. ?Was it people who do work for Hocus Pocus, or people who don?t work for Hocus Pocus that I was supposed to tell? I can?t remember.?
?Whatever,? the man grunted and turned back to the lady. Del reached out to grab him and get his attention.
?Wait a minute, I have to remember what I?m supposed to tell you,? she whined.
?Let go of me, you little freak!? he cried, jerking his arm away from her. Del stumbled and fell backwards.
?Oh don?t be so cruel,? the succubus said in a silky voice.
?She?s fine. You?re fine, right kid??

Del glared up at him and slowly rose to her feet, her hands clenched into fists. ?You?re a very mean man,? she sneered. ?I think you?ll have invisible insects crawling all over you. Forever and ever.?

The man raised an eyebrow and then suddenly jerked, slapping the back of his neck. Her looked down and his eyes widened. Visible only to him were a multitude of insects, crawling up his legs and over his body. He let out a shriek and tossed his glass to the side. He stumbled backward as he started sweeping the imaginary pests off his body, crying out for help. Del smirked with satisfaction as the crowd moved aside from him.

Then suddenly, the yacht jerked violently, nearly capsizing. Del, and pretty much everyone else, all fell over to the side. When she looked over to the hull, she saw a large tentacle over the water. Her mouth fell open a gap and she saw another tentacle appear. It grabbed the man Del had cursed with spiders and pulled him into the water. She pouted, sad that the damage she?d done to him would be so short lived.

Those who weren?t panicking sprang into action and stared attacking the creature, but they were knocked back down when a third tentacle slammed onto the deck and crushed a man, then dragged his bloody mess of a body over the side, taking the railing with it.

Del stood to her feet, her legs wobbling as she struggled to walk. She tried to approach one of the tentacles, but a fourth one crashed onto the deck causing her to fall over again. Del was growing annoyed with its constant shaking of the ship. She just wanted to get close to it and ask its name, but it was being very rude.

{(It has been decided that, come this Sunday, the Leviathan will be slain. Therefore, if you miss out on the action: too bad, suck it up, there will be more.)}

{(In addition, if you DO end up missing the action, just post how your character fought alongside the other characters. No biggie.)}

Aside from a random gunshot from the opposite side of the boat, the party still seemed to be pretty dull, especially for one populated by so many non-humans.

Bobby assumed a lot of them were not human, that is. He'd had encounters with things of such a nature before, so it wasn't that big a deal to discover things on the yacht that didn't seem quite human.

And yet he was still bored. Looking at a bunch of freaks toting weird weapons wasn't anything new. He'd seen plenty of humans doing that in his short life already, the fact that some of the people on the boat might have a slightly unnatural skin tone, pointed ears, strangely alluring eyes or whatever wasn't a really big selling point. Humans could look just as freaky if not freakier. If his boredom was to be fought off, the people, or "creatures", would have to do something of interest rather than just look weird.

It was about the time he was thinking of doing something to provoke such an event that one introduced itself of its own accord in the form of a giant tentacle smacking down on top of vessel. It was soon accompanied by several more, all the people, or whatever, now panicking for the most part, screaming and running around like headless chickens while their fellow passengers were hauled off into the deep or turned into chunky blood splatters upon the deck.

Bobby had been lucky enough to not get hit so far, climbing back to his feet after the initial hit and stepping off in a direction that didn't lead him to joining the unfortunate party-goers no longer with them, as all the others were now so desperately trying to do themselves.

He straightened his top hat and looked around. The place was certainly a mess. All the tables were knocked over, food, champagne and broken glass littering the floor next to the dead bodies, or what was left of them. There appeared to now be a crack in the boat large enough to expose the living quarters below as well.

"Well...shit," he declared to himself.

As his eyes continued to try and make their way through the chaos he was somewhat surprised to see there were some brave souls fighting back. Brave or stupid. It really depended on how strong they were and how big the sea monster was in general. Judging by the tentacles, it was fairly fucking huge.

Still, it was better to go out fighting than to just give in. Or at least it was better to say you tried instead of having to wonder if maybe you'd have made it if you had.

Bobby carefully made his way into the cabin, able to stroll in casually without use for a door now the back had been broken off. He saw who he assumed to be the captain sobbing and praying on his knees, clinging onto the wheel of the ship to steady himself.

"Wow." The man turned to face him. "That's...super. So um, got any weapons? I mean, you won't be usin' 'em I take it?"

"What's the point? We're all going to die!"
"Well aren't you a fuckin' optimist."
"There are no weapons. This is just a yacht. This was a party, there were no need for weapons."
"Yeah, the passengers didn't think that. And look who turned out to be right."

The man just turned away and continued to sob, mumbling incomprehensible garbage. Bobby shook his head and looked around. There was a harpoon on a large wooden plaque on the wall.

"So what's that then?" he pointed as the captain turned around again.
"Oh, that's just decorative."
"It's a harpoon, man. It's not..." he sighed and walked over to it. "Jesus Christ."

He reached up and lifted it off the metal pegs it had been resting on, looking it over.

"You can't be serious, son."
"You know, dying at the hands of a giant sea monster isn't a bad way to go. In fact, the only thing cooler would be not dying at the hands of a giant sea monster. So, I'm goin' for broke."
"But that thing was never intended to be used. It's suicide!"

Bobby walked over to the man. "All that matters..." he placed a hand on his shoulder. The captain looked up through his tears, clearly expecting the boy to say something inspiring and comforting. Instead, he thrust the harpoon down into the man's foot, making him scream in pain. "Is that it's sharp. Now hold the fuck still," he instructed as he placed a foot on the captain's ankle, tugging at the weapon with both hands to rip it back out. Again he shrieked in agony, but Bobby ignored it, looking over the end of the harpoon again.

"Looks pretty good. Let's see how it works out."

He stepped outside to find there were people still fighting and people still running around and screaming, doing nothing more than taking up space until they inevitably died horribly.

He looked around to find the best tentacle to go for, then settled on the one second closest to him. The end of it wasn't too thick, meaning it was a good target. There was no way one harpoon was going to do the job here, so he had to use it for something useful rather than just stabbing wildly or wasting it by throwing it in a place nobody could retrieve it from.

After carefully lining it up, he lifted the spear into the air, then plunged it down into the appendage. Having never encounter a sea monster before, Bobby wasn't quite sure what they sounded like, but he could guess that the bizarre howling coming from beneath them was the cry of an angered ocean-dwelling beast, and a large one at that.

The boat began to sway more violently from side to side, the tentacle pulling hard against the harpoon deeply embedded in it, but it was pinned to the deck. Or so he thought. Its other extremities began to wildly flail around as it tried to free itself, pulling harder and harder until finally something gave. But it wasn't the harpoon.

The tentacle ripped upwards, causing the spear to slice through it, right down the middle, splitting it in half. The creature bellowed again from underneath the boat, even louder than before, blood flying down onto the boat from the wood that thrashed madly in pain and anger.

Bobby climbed to his feet once again, walking over and, with a good few tugs, freeing the harpoon from the boat. He stepped backwards, tilting his head upwards to watch the limb whipping around in the air a final few times before shooting back under the water. With it, one by one, the other tentacles followed, and then it fell silent.

Bloodied harpoon in hand, Bobby turned around to the other people on board.

"I'm guessing it isn't running away, is it?"

In a few minutes, chaos had descended upon the boat. Dead bodies were strewn across the deck, the light conversation and drinks forgotten. Glasses were smashed everywhere, and a crate of champagne bottles had exploded, the pops sounding similar to gunshots and not helping the situation.

The humans on board were disapearing, no doubt Mr Swann had come up with an ingenius plan to secure their safety. She only hoped that it would James would disappear too. She had battled mythical creatures before, for her own survival. Her blood had magical properties that many coveted after. She was not sure James had had the same experience.

A tentacle brushed past her foot and Gabriella quickly reacted. She drew the large knife strapped her thigh and sliced it down on to the tentacle. The creature was almost as fast as her and she only managed to cut the tip of it off. It lay there, motionless and squelchy. Gabriella shivered in disgust. Judging by the size of the of the tentacles, it was a Leviathan; a sea monster of massive proportion. Perfect. And knowing Mr Swann as she did, no doubt this was a test. A test where failure meant death.

It seems others were doing the same as she; attacking the creature as well as they could. She watched as a man attacked it with a harpoon; to not much success. It caused a lot of pain, she could hear the screams of the creature but the screams were also angry. Being Sidhe Fae, she was an empath and could also translate most languages. The tentacle ripped apart, creating two in its place. However his actions seemed to have some effect. The tentacles that had gripped the boat disappeared beneath the waves and there was a silence as people tried to understand what just happened.

The young man with the bloody harpoon looked almost sheepish.

"I'm guessing it isn't running away, is it?"

Gabriella would have laughed at the man's comment if the situation wasn't so dire. She knew it would take more than a harpoon to kill the giant creature.

Nolre watched, smiling, as the boy in the top hat plunged a harpoon into the tentacle of the beast. A low howl came from beneath the yacht, and the wounded tentacle tore itself in two trying to get away. Thick blood splattered onto the deck as it flailed around in the air, and the rest of the tentacles retreated as well.

"I'm guessing it isn't running away, is it?"

Nolre grinned and nearly patted the boy on the back before remembering how much he himself hated to be touched.

"Hopefully, it comes up. When they're on the ocean floor like that, they can see the bottom of the boat but not where their strikes land. When it comes up, it'll use its eyes, and that's where it hurts."

Nolre walked into the captain's cabin to find the poor man nursing a wound and praying louder. Delial was leaning against the wall, watching the man cry and occasionally scratching his head.

"Lial, let me use your gun."
"Use your own gun."
"My gun is wet, just let me use your gun."
"Why can't you use your gun."
"Because it's water damaged."
"Whose fault is that?"

Nolre frowned and Delial grinned as he reached for the gun that Nolre had crafted for him. Nolre snatched it out of his hand and warned Delial not to mess around in dangerous situations and to stay in the cabin. The boat shifted.

"What was that?"

A wave rocked the boat and nearly capsized it as the Leviathan burst through the surface of the waters. Its two largest tentacles slapped on either side of the boat, causing bigger waves and water to drench the deck. Nolre nearly slipped as he ran onto the deck, cocking the gun and aiming. He fired a shot at the Leviathan's eye and struck it dead center, causing it to slap a tentacle down at him. Nolre side stepped and took hold of a ridge on the appendage, and was torn from the deck into the air.

The Leviathan roared again and tried to shake Nolre off but he fired another shot into its eye. Blood poured out and the Leviathan froze for a moment, letting Nolre jump off of the tentacle and dive toward its head. He was slammed back onto the deck, however, and he heard a loud snap as he rolled. Nolre forced himself to his feet and found that he stood once again next to the boy in the top hat.

"What's your name, kid?"
"Bobby," he replied. "Don't call me--"
"Wonderful, nice to meet you. My name is Nolre and I would like it very much if you plunged that fucking harpoon into that eye right there."

The guests on the boat who were fighting back against the tentacle monster were finally starting to have success. The cowards who screamed and ran about aimlessly were actually helping, too, acting as useful bait so that the people who were fighting could avoiding the monsters attacks. When its face popped out of the water, Del’s eyes widened and a grin spread across her face. She shakily made her way over to it, struggling to stay on her feet as the boat continued to sway.

Nolre, the man with the top hat and a very smile girl were standing near the face. Both of the creature’s eyes had been shoot in and Del grinned, lifting her hands to cover her face. She approached Nolre and called his name. When he turned, she pulled her hands away and revealed her illusion, causing her eyes to look as though they had been shot in as well, blood flowing down her cheeks. The top hat boy tilted his head a little.

“We’re twins!" she cried merrily.
“That’s nice, Del,” he said with little enthusiasm, which caused her to frown and blink the illusion away. “Do me a favour and go wait in the captain’s cabin with Lial.”
“But I haven’t asked it its name yet,” she protested.

Nolre assured her he would do the honours for her, which satisfied Del. She waved goodbye and moved to the captain’s cabin which, though it was only a few feet away, was a bit of a challenge to get to do to the shaking boat and the guns being fired at the creature.

When she got there, she closed the door to keep from stumbling back out. Delial was leaning against the wall, observing the weeping, bleeding captain. Del walked over next to him, leaning against the wall and then sliding down, setting next to the young man’s feet.

“Delial, what’s that thing called?” she asked.
“A Leviathan,” he replied.
“Oh yes,” she nodded. She then turned her attention to the crying captain. “Um, excuse me,” she said. “Do you like frogs?”
“W-what?” he stammered through his tears.

Del grinned and caused multicoloured frogs to begin jumping out of the wound in his foot. He cried in horror, falling back and trying to distance himself from his foot. Del giggled as his reaction, holding her hand out for one of the frogs to jump into it.

That's right, I changed Del's font colour. DO SOMETHIN'.
Ai post is on previous page.

James had been flung across the boat by one of the tentacles at the beginning of attack and had hit his head on the railings, knocking him out. Despite all the screams, he did not regain conciousness until the gunshots were fired. He stood up, swore loudly and wiped the blood off his head with a hand. He gave a small shrug at the sight of the red liquid and drew one of his guns. Hell, if people were shooting he'd wanna join in.

The creature was half in, half out the water with two tentacles gripping the boat. It was gushing blood from what seemed to be one of the eyes, though he was no expert on mythical sea creatures. A man wearing a tophat was lifting his arm up to throw a harpoon into the other eye. James flicked the safety off and aimed, he saw a hot young woman doing the same.

They shot simultaneously, burying the bullets deep in the creature's eye. James gave a quick smile of satisfaction as the creature wailed and strode over to the small group of people, Gabriella included. The other shooter shrugged.

'Took too long.' He couldn't have put it better himself.

'What the hell was that?' he asked.

'A Leviathan,' someone answered. 'Sea monster.'

'Man, that thing was hugee!' he said and laughed, like it had been nothing more than scoring a goal in football or something. Gabriella looked disapproving at his reaction, but then she always did. The others in the group seemed fine, and shuffled along to allow him into the little circle.

He moved to put his gun away but someone rested a hand on his arm.

'I wouldn't do that if I were you,' a trampish looked man advised. James shrugged. The creature looked pretty dead to him.

Eve was staggering around the boat, she was not much use in trying to control the sea monster, although, she was aware on how best to contain the situation. But after the conversation she had with Mr. Swan before the voyage telling her to not help these people in their initiation test to join Hocus Pocus. So she was merely there to help access the skills they all possessed.

She stumbled into the captain?s deck and saw a crazy looking young girl tormenting the captain. Eve knelt down and put a hand on the girls shoulder "This isn't a time to play games with the scared man, Del." Eve tried to explain to Del calmly. Eve tried to keep Del entertained by playing games with her while the boat was rocking roughly due to the slams of the tentacles.

Nolre didn't take his eyes off of the Leviathan. Most of its body was laying on the deck, and the yacht was floating unevenly on the waves. Nolre could hear the beast gasping for air, and it shuddered loudly, moaning as well. Nolre frowned and went to approach the creature, but Mr. Swan appeared out of the corner of his eyes with a few more harpoons.

"Don't touch it, Nolre. It could still be malevolent."
"It's dying."

Swan shook his head and stabbed a harpoon through the top of its head, nailing it to the deck. He did the same with other parts of its body, then stepped back to admire his handy work.

"We're going to learn many things from this. Many things indeed."

Nolre's hand balled into a fist, and he turned to walk back to the living quarters. As he passed the boy in the top hat, he handed him a card and congratulated him on a job well done.

As Nolre descended into the lower part of the boat, he heard Swan exclaim that the yacht would be back to shore in no less than a few hours. He walked through the hallways to his room and, upon opening the door, saw that Alt'horian sat in his bed.

"You have slain the great evil."
"Not quite," Nolre said solemnly. "We're taking it somewhere else, for studying."
"Studying?"
"Mhm."

Nolre went into the bathroom to dry himself off. In the corner of his eye, he could see Alt'horian staring at him.

"Why do you study the great evil?"

He didn't have an answer.

"The people we saved will be returned soon."
"Thank you."

Alt'horian nodded and slipped out the window. Nolre sighed deeply and ran his fingers through his hair. He began to change out of his clothes when the phone rang.

"This is Nolre."
"I've decided that this incident fits best in the department you work in."
"And?"
"And you will be filing the report."

Nolre closed his eyes and rubbed at them.

"Are you there?"
"Yeah, I'm here."
"Get on it."

He slammed the phone on the receiver and cursed. Changing out of his wet clothes, Nolre looked for a pen and paper. He sat down in dry clothes to write the report, reading aloud as he wrote.

"On this date.... a Leviathan was discovered and forcefully captured..... recruits helped in the process....... four people were fatally injured or killed.. with love, Go F
uck Yourself."

Bobby was quite right in assuming the thing wouldn't run away. Instead it nearly capsized the boat when it burst out of the water, revealing its face. The deck was drenched with water as the largest of the tentacles smacked into either side of the yacht, causing everyone to sway and struggle to stay on their feet.

A man dressed in the manner of a homeless person began shooting at the monster's eye. It tried to slap at him with one of its appendages but he used it to his advantage, climbing onto the side and waiting for it to lift him up so he could get a better shot at the eye. It froze, allowing the man a moment to try and attack further, though he was thrown back onto the deck with a painful snapping noise as he rolled in Bobby's direction.

As the others continued to shoot in an attempt to at least hold the creature off, a woman that also looked as though she could be homeless by her manner of dress sauntered over merrily and addressed the man next to the teen.

“We’re twins!" she cried, showing off her eyes which both looked the same as the sea monster's, blood running down her cheeks. Bobby cocked his head to one side, trying to figure out just what the fuck was going on.
“That’s nice, Del,” the man beside him said with little enthusiasm, which caused her to frown and appear to simply blink the injuries away. “Do me a favour and go wait in the captain’s cabin with Lial.”
“But I haven’t asked it its name yet,” she protested.

The homeless-looking man assured her one of the men he'd previously mentioned would do the honours for her, which satisfied the woman. She waved goodbye and moved to the captain’s cabin, and then the man turned to Bobby.

"What's your name, kid?"
"Bobby," he replied. "Don't call me-"
"Wonderful, nice to meet you. My name is Nolre and I would like it very much if you plunged that fucking harpoon into that eye right there."

The boy shrugged and lined the weapon up. Just as he was about to throw it though, bullets fired into the thing's eye, barely missing his arm. Everyone turned to see a small girl lowering her gun.

“Took too long,” she explained simply.
"Whatever," he allowed his arm to drop back down by his side. It didn't matter to him who had the finishing blow. Just killing the beast was good enough.

Its body collapsed onto the deck and it sounded like it was struggling to breath, shuddering and moaning. Suddenly Mr. Swan appeared, carrying over several more harpoons.

"Don't touch it, Nolre. It could still be malevolent."
"It's dying."
"Oh...awesome, more harpoons. Not like we could've used them or anything. Super."

Swan stabbed a harpoon through the top of the monster's head, nailing it to the deck. He did the same with other parts of its body, then stepped back to admire his handy work.

"We're going to learn many things from this. Many things indeed."
"What, like...how to feed a fuckload-a Japs?"

Nolre's hand balled into a fist, and he turned to walk back to the living quarters. As he passed Bobby, he handed him a card and congratulated him on a job well done.

"Thanks?" Bobby shrugged and looked down at the card. Mr. Swan began to talk to them about something before he even had a chance to look inside the thing, which he proceeded to do rather than listen to the man.

"CONGRATULATIONS!

Welcome to Hocus and Pocus! You were selected out of the best to come and show your stuff on this mission to find the best of the best. If you're reading this, that means YOU qualified!

You are now an official employee of Hocus and Pocus. We will provide you not only with your new workplace and plenty to keep your busy, but a roof over your head and the security of our company life policy!

If you have received this card, then you should soon have the basics of our company and its ambitions explained to you, along with what department you will be placed in and its objectives, including your job personally. You will also soon be escorted to your new workplace.

If you have any further questions or inquiries, please ask the administrator of your department.

Thank you, and welcome to Hocus and Pocus!"

"What the Bob Ross did I just read?" Bobby looked up to Mr. Swan, who was finishing his speech.
"So, with the details out of the way-"
"Fuck."
"I welcome you all to Hocus and Pocus! When we get ashore, you will be escorted to your future workplace."
"Hmm. Well. Awesome."

Mr. Swan made to wander off, Bobby caught him.

"Yo, Swanny!"
The man stopped abruptly and turned around with a smile that was clearly forced. "Mr. Flay, I would appreciate it if you would call me 'Mister Swan', I am your new boss, after all."
"See, yeah, about that-"
"You don't want to work for Hocus and Pocus?"
"No, that's not it. In fact, my only complaint, aside from being dragged onto this thing to potentially be fuckin' killed, which, I gotta say, ain't so big a deal to me as a lotta your other guests there-"
"Oh, I know, Mr. Flay," he said with a slightly unnerving smile.
"Great, yeah, anyway, my issue is this card," he held it out to the man who took it and looked it over.
"Yes, we give these to all our new recruits."
"Recruits. That's a real friendly word there for new employees. The point is, it's fucking distracting."
"What?" He looked at the young man, seemingly perplexed.
"Yeah. I was busy looking at that bastard while you were talking. I heard shit. All. So, if you could just, fill me in or whatever."
Mr. Swan laughed. "Oh, Mr. Flay, don't worry about a thing. In fact, just enjoy your trip back to shore." He placed a hand on the boy's shoulder. "You will see when you get there. All shall be explained." He gave him a brief pat before handing him his card back and heading off.

"Yup," Bobby looked down at the card again. "Reeeal comforting. Well, I guess I should make the best of it." He turned and wandered off in search of any remaining champagne.

As Del was making frogs appear from the man?s wound, she noticed Eve walking into the cabin. She turned the woman and smiled, but Eve sighed and shook her head as she moved next to Del, placing a hand on her shoulder.

"This isn't a time to play games with the scared man, Del," she explained calmly.
Del pouted. ?But he likes frogs, don?t you, Mister Captain?? she asked, turning to him.
?Oh, sweet merciful Jesus. Oh dear God, please,? he muttered, sobbing uncontrollably.
?See?? she beamed.

Eve sighed again and knelt down next to Del. Delial seemed perfectly content with examine the superstitious man?s hysterical reactions. Eve offered to play some games with Del while they remained held up, waiting for the guests strong enough to pass Mister Swan?s test to be rid of the Leviathan. Del agreed happily. She always liked Eve. She always made an effort to keep Del entertained and was ever patient with her terrible memory.

When the creature had been subdued, Eve took Del by the hand and the two of them walked out. She grinned widely when she saw the pinned down creature and tried to run to speak to it, but Eve advised her that might not be a good idea. Del was disappointed, but had something else on her mind anyway. She looked around for Nolre, as she knew he had something he was supposed to tell her, but he was no where in sight.

?Delial,? she said as she approached the young man. ?I?m going to find Nolre. I think he might be in his room.?
?That?s not a good idea, Del. He doesn?t like to be disturbed.?
?But he has to tell me that boy?s name.?
?Why don?t you ask him yourself??

Delial motioned toward the young man who was still wearing the wonderful top hat. Del beamed again and skipped off over to him, standing back silently for a few moments to admire his headwear. He was sipping on a glass of champagne and didn?t seem to notice her there, but after a few moments of her just staring at him, he appeared to sense her and turned around.

?Hey, you?re the person from before,? he pointed on.
?I am not a person,? Del corrected him. ?I bet Nolre forgot, didn?t he??
?Forgot what??
?To ask your name. He didn?t think I would remember, but I can do that sometimes. Remember things. He doesn't think I can, but he's wrong. And this time I did.?
?Well, uh. It?s Bobby. What?s??
?Ohhhhh,? she sighed heavily. ?I could have sworn it was Andrew.?
??yours.?
?I?m Del,? she grinned and then looked up at his hat. ?I absolutely love your hat. It looks even better with the flower on it.? As Bobby furrowed his brow and removed the hat to see the tulip growing out of it, Del noticed the card in his hand. ?What?s that?? she asked excitedly.

As Del once again got distracted by another one of her ideas, Eve couldn?t help but smile at the girl, and went to grab a medical bag with all her supplied. She approached the creature that was pinned and leaned in close to examine it closely. She smiled to herself and knelt down opening her bag and pulling out a scalpel knife and petri dish. Eve took a tissue sample to study later back home. But Eve knew she would have to wait before beginning her studies on the sample, for she was head of her departments and would have to show the new recruits around and explain some things. That was the price to pay for being a loyal employee of Mr. Swan for many years.

Since things have calmed down, Eve began to mingle among the guests, starting to introduce herself to the new people of Hocus Pocus. She would try to make herself known that she was head of her departments and if anyone had any questions that she is free to answer them.

From a distance, Eve began to see the shoreline; she knew they were only minutes away from being home. She went back to her room and collected her things, and especially the tissue sample she had collected. She came back out and waited for the boat to arrive home. Eve couldn't wait due to her sea sickness was beginning to play up again. Even though she was only minutes away from being home, the feel of gagging couldn't be stopped, and once again threw up over the side of the yacht. "I really need to get over this." She said to no one in particular.

The buzzing in her ear grew louder as Jessy groaned and felt around for her phone. Without opening her eyes she hit whatever button she felt first and fell back into her slumber. What seemed like only a second had went by and her phone was ringing again. Reaching for it again, she answered rudely.
"What the fuck do you want?"

There was a moment of silence on a the other end followed by a grunt. Before he could speak, Jessy already knew who it was. Only one person in the world sounded as vile as he smelled, her boss. She heard the man grunt again, and interrupted him before he could get a word in.
"It's my day off, I'm not coming in."
"Ya gotta! Some ship, boat, canoe, whatever the fuck it was hadda buncha tourists on board and they had some kinda mishap. We're right near all tha food joints, ya know they gonna wanna come in a get a drink. Ya my best girl, I'll pay you overtime." Jessy could hear him spitting everywhere while he spoke. She sat up rubbing her eyes, still sleepy and mumbled something about being there soon.

As she rolled out of bed and caught her reflection in the mirror, she jumped a bit. Her hair was tousled, her eyeliner smeared, and a small bruise on her left arm. Lazily she made her way to the bathroom, brushed her teeth and threw her hair up. After throwing around her clothes for a bit, she finally found some shorts and paired them with a black tank top. She entered the living room whistling and stopped abruptly when she saw Jack fast asleep on the couch. She threw a blanket over him as he groaned in his sleep and made her way out the door.

The bar wasn't too far from her house and since it was a nice day she decided to just walk instead of taking her bike. She wanted to take her merry time, because seeing Chuck mad was one of her favorite things. There was an old woman walking just a few steps ahead of her, so Jessy decided to catch up.

"Hello," she said politely and flashed the lady a smile. "How are you today?"
The little woman was startled and replied meekly, "Doin' alright, how about yourself?"
"Oh, I'm alright, just a little tired from the night before."
"You kids and your crazy partyin'," groaned the old woman.
Jessy grinned at the woman and began, "Actually I saved a life last night." The small woman looked toward Jessy intrigued as she continued.

"Yeah, there's this old woman that lives in my building. She's a real kook, but you know how it gets after you're a certain age. Anyway, she left something on the stove and the old bat just fell asleep. I smelt something funny so I went to investigate. When I got there, there was already a hoard of people outside, but not one of them willing to help. Of course, I'm not afraid of anything, so I jumped right into that fiery pit and grabbed that old nut and came right out. I even went back in to save her parrot, although I should have let him roast, he's annoying as all hell."

The old woman stared at Jessy in disbelief. She opened her mouth to speak just as they approached the bar.
"WELL THEN! It was nice meeting you and if you ever need saving, look me up," and with that she disappeared into the bar leaving the old woman confused.

"YA LATE," growled Chuck.
"And you're an ogre. I'm not even suppose to be here today, I'm doing YOU a favor. Lay off." Jessy spat back in a sharp tone. Chuck grunted some more and disappeared soon. Looking around the bar it didn't seem like it was busy. Just a couple regulars lounging around. As she made her way behind the counter, she let her hair down and shook it a bit.

"OW OW," screamed Mike, one of the old men that came in every day. Usually she would've screamed something rude at him, but she was tired and settled for giving him the finger.

An hour or so went by and people certainly started piling in, but it wasn't much more than your normal evening rush. Just as she finished cleaning off the counter a very peculiar looking girl plopped down and smiled at Jessy. Her hair was unruly and had all different colors in it. Although unsure of this girl, Jessy greeted her like she would anyone else.

"How's it going? Can I get you something?" She smiled.
"FRESH MANGO JUICE!... Please." The girl shot back in her overly happy tone. Jessy poured some juice and asked the strange girl if she'd like some ice. The girl squinted for a moment, placing her hand on her chin as if she was making a really tough decision.
"Only if it's shaped like triangles, if not, then I don't want it."

Jessy was a bit put off by how odd she was, but intrigued as well.
"Well, we had triangles, but we're all out. Sorry!" The girl shrugged and brought the drink closer to her and looked around.

"Are you waiting on anyone?" Inquired Jessy.
"Yeah! My pal Nolre, he was just with me... now where'd he..." As she jerked her head around frantically looking for her friend, a strikingly handsome man emerged from behind her.
"Here he is! This is Nolre. Nolre this is the lady with the juice." The girl said cheerly.

Jessy eyed him for a moment. Everything about him drew her in. He looked dirty, she loved it. If they were anywhere else she would've already reached out and touched his face, letting her fingers run over the scruff that covered it. She snapped out of her daydreaming when the man called Nolre began to speak. His voice was unsettling, almost scary.

He grinned at her as he slumped down on a stool. His voice was dripping with exhaustion as he asked for his drink.
"Just a screwdriver, please."

Jessy fumbled around with the Vodka and before she put it down, he motioned for her to put a bit more in. She slid the drink his way and smiled nervously. She was never nervous around anyone, so it was a strange feeling. She noticed the girl sitting beside him hadn't touched her drink. Her hair was dripping wet. She wondered if the two had been on the yacht that Chuck had mentioned. She cleared her throat as she cleaned off the counter and asked casually, "You guys didn't happen to be a part of whatever happened out there on that yacht today... did you?"

haven't proofread so.. yeah smd

To his surprise, Bobby was actually able to find some champagne that hadn't been destroyed in the fight. He grabbed a hold of the bottle and opened it, happy to drink directly from it when he found a glass nearby that was also in surprisingly good shape. He decided if he was going to sip champagne, then why not do it in style, and so poured himself a glass and relaxed as he waited for them to reach the shore.

After a short while he felt someone's eyes upon him, and when he turned he saw the same strange woman from before, who'd magically been able to change the appearance of her eyes.

“Hey, you’re the person from before,” he pointed on.
“I am not a person,” she corrected him. “I bet Nolre forgot, didn’t he?”
“Forgot what?”
“To ask your name. He didn’t think I would remember, but I can do that sometimes. Remember things. He doesn't think I can, but he's wrong. And this time I did.”
“Well, uh. It’s Bobby. What’s—”
“Ohhhhh,” she sighed heavily. “I could have sworn it was Andrew.”
“…yours.”
“I’m Del,” she grinned and then looked up at his hat. “I absolutely love your hat. It looks even better with the flower on it.” As Bobby furrowed his brow and removed the hat to see the tulip growing out of it, Del seemed to notice the card in his hand. “What’s that?” she asked excitedly.

He glanced down to see what she was referring to and then lifted it up.

"Oh, yeah, this. It's er, a welcoming card. Apparently I am now an official employee of Hocus and Pocus, whatever that is." He handed it over to her so she could look at it, something she took more enjoyment in than he'd expected. "Something tells me you might know."
"Hm?" she looked up to him. "Know what?"
"Never mind. You mentioned you're not a 'person'. So, what are you then?" he asked as he went about inspecting the flower on his hat. It certainly seemed real enough; he could feel it and smell it as well as see it.

?Oh, um?? She placed her index finger against her chin. ?Let me see? I am a lot of things. ?A pain in the ass,? ?a lunatic,? ?an ah-mig-muh,.? Lots of things. But what I am all the time is, I don?t really know. I forgot,? she giggled, then her face became completely serious. ?Are you a person??
?I??
?Don?t you like the flower?? she interrupted with a frown, noticing that he wasn?t jumping for joy like she thought he?d be at the sight of it. ?I can make it something else if you want. Oh! I can make it into a big pointy stick and you can stick it in my eye just like the sea monster!? She smiled widely and lifted her finger to her cheek, pointing to her eye.
"How do you do that, anyway?" he asked.
"Um, I don't really know. I just think about them really hard and they happen. Well, I don't think about them really hard. Sometimes I just think really hard and nothing happens, but sometimes when I'm not thinking at all, it does happen and...what were we talking about again?"
"Your powers. Do you not remember what your race is? I mean, are you the only one?"
"Oh, no. Sometimes I remember, but then I forget again really fast. Nolre tells me sometimes, he said he was there when Hocus Pocus found me. They were gonna kill me at first," she added, giggling. "But then they didn't. I don't remember why."
"So you were dangerous before? What...changed? I mean, if you can remember, that is."
"They said I burned down a village but Nolre says they were mean people anyway. They tried to kill me, too. Hmmm," she pondered, placing her finger on her chin. "That happens a lot with Hocus Pocus, now that I think of it.?
"Uh-huh," he raised an eyebrow. "So...Hocus and Pocus deal with supernatural stuff in general, I take it??
She nodded. "You know what department I work in?" she asked with a grin. "The Secrets that Corrupt Man. Know why??
"Why?" he asked, slightly hesitantly.
"Because I can corrupt them," she told him and then smiled mischievously as if it were some great secret.
"I suppose that makes sense," he said thoughtfully. "You know, sounds like working for Hocus and Pocus will be...interesting at least."

When the boat docked, Del followed Bobby toward the exit. She intended to stick with him for a while, but she got distracted when she saw Nolre hop off the bottom deck. She grinned and shoved past Bobby and the other passengers, accidentally pushing one overboard. When she finally caught up to Nolre, she grabbed onto the back of his jacket causing him to turn around.

?Guess what!? she exclaimed. ?You never will, so I?ll tell you. You know the name you forgot to ask? Well I remembered. Ha, bet you didn?t expect that! It?s?? she trailed off, lost in though. ?Hmm, what was it again??
?Bobby,? Nolre muttered.
?Oh, yes! That was it.? She noticed his sullen expression and tilted her head a little. ?Where are you going??
?To get a drink.?
?I can make you a drink.?
?A real drink.?
?It will taste real.?
?I want to get drunk.?
?Ohhh,? she nodded. ?Why??
?Del, I?m really not in the mood for this.?
?I want to come,? she insisted.
He sighed. ?Del??
?Please?? she asked sweetly, holding her hands together. ?Please??
Nolre groaned, lifting his hand to pinch the bridge of his nose. ?Alright, alright.?
?Yay!? she cried happily, slapping her hands together, then followed Nolre along, humming as they went.

?Is there a word for the feeling you get when you?re introducing someone to someone, but you forget their name, and at the same time you forget the name of the person you?re introducing them to??
?No.?
?Oh.?

When they arrived at the bar Nolre had chosen, he excused himself, saying he was going to the bathroom. Del skipped around to the bar and sat down, swinging her feet back and forth and taking in the scenery of the place. A pretty looking young woman approached her from the other side of the bar and

"How's it going? Can I get you something?" She smiled.
"FRESH MANGO JUICE!... Please," Del shot back in her overly happy tone. The woman poured some juice and asked the strange girl if she'd like some ice. Del squinted for a moment, placing her hand on her chin and weighing the pros and cons of getting ice in her beverage. She finally came to an ultimatum. "Only if it's shaped like triangles, if not, then I don't want it."
The young woman seemed slightly taken back, taking a moment to reply. "Well, we had triangles, but we're all out. Sorry!" Del shrugged and brought the drink closer to her and looked around for Nolre.

"Are you waiting on anyone?" inquired the bartender.
"Yeah! My pal Nolre, he was just with me... now where'd he..." As she jerked her head around frantically looking for Nolre, he finally appeared and she smiled again. "Here he is! This is Nolre. Nolre this is the lady with the juice," Del introduced cheerily.
?Just a screwdriver, please,? Nolre asked as he sat down.

As the girl went about making Nolre drink, Del had an actual screwdriver appear in her hand. She grinned as she extended her arm, offering it to Nolre. He ignored her and motioned something to the bartender. Del sighed, causing the illusion to disappear just as the young woman approached again.

She cleared her throat as she cleaned off the counter and asked casually, "You guys didn't happen to be a part of whatever happened out there on that yacht today... did you?"
?Mhm, Nolre killed a giant sea monster,? Del said bluntly.
The bartender laughed a little, clearly think this was some joke. ?Oh yeah??
?Not along though, he had lots of help. Like this man named Bobby with a fantastic hat, and Mister Goose, and Eve, and?"
"Del, drink your drink," Nolre interrupted.
She pouted. "But I don't like mango juice."

Del was about to go on with what she was saying when Bobby Flay entered the bar, ****ing an eyebrow as he looked around. He was still wearing the top hat and Del realized at that moment she had to have it. She hopped off the barstool without excusing herself and walked over to the young man, grinning up at him. He turned her with slight interest.

?You again,? he said.
?Give me that please,? she responded, pointing to his hat.

“You again,” he said.
“Give me that please,” she responded, pointing to his hat.

Nolre ignored the two and downed his drink with one swallow. He caught the tender's attention and forced a smile.

"You'll have to keep them coming, miss."

The girl stood there awkwardly for a moment before Nolre added on a "Please?"

The bartender snapped to it, and he downed the drink again. He gestured that she just constantly make them, and started to explain what Del had said moments ago.

"So we're on this boat, right?"
"Right."
"Me and a bunch of people, and this guy I've worked with since like the beginning of time."
"Okay."
"And he says: Nolre, you know, let's go fishing for old time's sake."

Nolre swallowed another glass of the alcohol and continued.

"So there we are, fishing, and the guy says, Wait here, man, I gotta go talk to the guests."

Nolre downed another glass.

"I don't think you should..."
"So I'm sitting there watching his fishing pole and mine when his gets pulled overboard."
"...drink that much..."
"And I'm like, whoa what the fu
ck is that?"
"...you might get alcohol poisoning."
"Don't worry about it, sweetheart, I haven't got a liver."

The bartender didn't know what to make of that.

"So a few seconds pass and my line almost gets ripped out of my hand! I start to pull on it and it jumps out of the water--this huge fish--and.."
"No, Nolre, it was a sea monster," Del piped in, "it was a sea monster and it had tentacles and an eye and it made a really low sound and it went WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH--"

Del slammed her arms down on the counter, making them into tentacles, and tried her best to imitate the low roar of the Leviathan. The bartender did a double take at Del's arms.

"Remember?"

Nolre stared into Del's eyes for a moment before giving up. He turned back to the bartender and said:

"Yeah, it was a Leviathan. So far, three have been found and captured, but one died on the way to the dock. It's a cross between a whale and a giant squid, basically put. Usually hostile, and the females are twice as big as the males." Nolre made this an important point to Del, "What we saw back there was a male. Anyway, the boat gets attacked by this and it hauls off some guests..."

Nolre stopped for a moment, noticing the bartender's bizarre stare, and sighed.

"I guess it does sound crazy."

Nolre turned in his seat to the one called Bobby.

"If you want that job, you'll come with Del and I after I'm done here. Be warned, it's fairly dangerous."

Nolre didn't wait for an answer; if the kid wants it, he'll follow, he thought.

"So, excuse me if you get this all the time, Miss Bartender. But I couldn't help but notice that you are strikingly beautiful. Have you got a name?"
"Fiful," she lied. Nolre looked at her name tag and then back at her, suppressing a grin. "But you can call me whatever you want, I don't feel like being myself today."
"Right," he replied. "Well maybe I'll see you around sometime? Maybe in the distant future..?"

Nolre placed a piece of paper down on the counter. Scribbled on it was his number. He took one last drink before pushing himself to his feet and tapping Del on the shoulder.

"I'm gonna go look for Delial. Do you wanna help?"

"Del, drink your drink," Nolre interrupted.
She pouted. "But I don't like mango juice."

Jessy looked at the girl confused, and before she could bat an eye, she had disappeared again. Left there with the man called, Nolre, Jessy shifted her weight from one foot to the other anxiously. He spoke again, demanding she keep the drinks coming. She narrowed her eyes into him as she slid another drink his way, and he began,"So we're on this boat, right?"
"Right."
"Me and a bunch of people, and this guy I've worked with since like the beginning of time."

Nolre swallowed another glass of the alcohol and continued.

He downed another glass while Jessy stared in amazement at how much alcohol a man his size could tolerate. Trying not to interrupt she mumbled, "I don't think you should..."

Jessy rolled her eyes at his arrogant demeanor. He continued with his wild tale of this "sea monster." The strange girl called, Del reappeared and chimed in, ranting and raving about the tentacles of this said monster. At this point, Jessy figured she would just go along with their nonsense. She'd done this a number of times herself. All she did was spin stories, it was funny to meet someone similar. Nolre waited for his wild friend to finish with her outburst then turned his attention back to Jessy and continued his story.

"Yeah, it was a Leviathan. So far, three have been found and captured, but one died on the way to the dock. It's a cross between a whale and a giant squid, basically put. Usually hostile, and the females are twice as big as the males.... What we saw back there was a male. Anyway, the boat gets attacked by this and it hauls off some guests..."

Jessy took the man's unfinished drink and shot him a look that clearly said, you've had enough. He grinned up at her again. Something was off about him and she didn't like it, but of course it drew her in even more.

He said something to the girl, but Jessy was too caught up in how charming he had been. Just like that, he'd left her wanting more. She knew for sure his stories were just tall tales, but he told them with such detail, almost as good as me, she thought to herself.

There was another young boy with the two now, but Jessy didn't pay him much mind. The bar was getting busy, and she didn't notice when they all left. She was going to be finishing up her shift in just a few minutes, and since it was night already the weather outside was quite chilly. Usually this wouldn't bother her, but there was something off about tonight. She phone her brother Jack and asked if he'd pick her up. She grabbed her small bag and was out the door. She lit a cigarette as she leaned up against the wall waiting for her brother. Just as she was taking her last drag, the car conveniently pulled up.

"God, it's cold," she said, as she situated herself in the passenger seat.
"Put your seatbelt on." Jack ordered her, in his general commanding tone. She groaned, but complied.
"Man, a lot of characters came into work today. You wouldn't believe the stories, these people were trying to tell me. I mean, ME of all people. They obviously didn't know, I am queen of spinning stories. This one guy though, he was really..." Before she could finish her sentence, Jack turned the volume up on the stereo in the car. He always did this when he didn't care to listen. Had she been anyone else, she would have gotten upset, but she knew Jack. He wasn't trying to hurt her feelings... it's just how he was. Steve Vai's For The Love of God played loudly, as she closed her eyes momentarily and leaned back against the headrest. Soon they arrived at the apartment and made their way up the stairs. Once inside, Jessy started in again on the man she mentioned earlier, know Jack would have to listen now.

"Like I was saying, so this guy he's telling me all this crazy stuff about sea monsters and of course I don't believe it for a second, but he's telling it like he really does. It was called a Levia-.. err.. a Leviath--" As she stumbled over her words to try and remember what he'd said, Jack's voice cut in.
"A Leviathan." His glare burned through her as he spoke the name of the creature she had been told about earlier.
"YEAH! That's what it was. How did you know?"
"What was the guy's name?"
"Why?"
"Jessy, just tell me."
She bit her lip and lied, "I don't remember it was something weird... Nolan or something." He glanced at her hands and noticed she was fumbling with her bag. He could tell she was lying, but he didn't have the energy to pry the truth out of her.
"Did he say where he was from?"
"No, but he wasn't alone. It was him and some crazy-haired girl. They were on the yacht that got banged up out there today."

Jack's eyes suddenly widened as he rose from where he was sitting. He started pacing around the small living room that also served as his bedroom. She'd never seen him so worked up, Jack was always calm. Any calmer and someone would think he's slipped into a coma. He grabbed Jessy and sat her down next to him. Looking at her, his eyes distant and somewhat concerned, he said, "Jessy, listen to me. Whatever you do, stay away from those people. If they come into the bar again, just serve them and be done with it. No conversing, no hanging out. Nothing--"
"It's my job to converse, Jack! I'm suppose to be friendly, inviting. The works."
"I don't give a damn!" He shouted. Jessy nearly jumped out of her skin. Never had she heard him raise his voice.
"What's wrong with you? Why are you acting so crazy?!"
"You will do as I tell you to and not ask any questions. You live under my roof and I have never asked anything of you. So not only should you do it out of courtesy, but because you owe me one. If it wasn't for me, you'd still be at home with-" She didn't let him finish.
"Alright. I get your point. Goodnight."

She made her way into her room threw her bag on the floor. Enraged and annoyed she changed out of her clothes and threw herself onto her tiny bed. Just as she was about to dose off she reached for her bag and pulled out a small piece of paper. There was a number on it and "Nolre" written in messy handwriting. She thought about what Jack had said to her just a moment ago, and although she was thankful for everything her brother had done for her, she wasn't going to let him run her life. Interesting people never came to her part of the town and now that someone had finally showed up, she wasn't going to pass up the chance to get to know him. She picked up her phone, and dialed the digits on the paper. The phone rang and almost sounded like an echo in her ear. It rang for what seemed like ages until she heard someone on the other end sigh and then say, "Hello?"
"...Uh, hi. This is..."
"The bartender, right? How can I be of service to you?" Even his voice over the phone was charming. She blushed and thanked god he couldn't see.
"Well, I don't know. Uhh, did you want to do something tomorrow. I'm bored with everyone I know, you seem like you wouldn't make for horrible company." She heard him chuckle a bit before responding. "Yeah, sure."
"Alright, where should I meet you and around what time?"
"I'll call you. Goodnight." He hung up.

HOW RUDE! She thought to herself. Still, satisfied that they'd get to meet again, she laid her head down on her old worn out pillow. Chopin filled her ears soon as she put her headphones on and drifted off to sleep.

After she received what she was certain was absolutely the most wonderful hat in the history of the world, Del caught a tidbit of Nolre?s conversation with the juice later, where he seemed to forget what had happened earlier that night and thought they had just gone fishing. However Del, ever the little helper, chimed in to jog his memory.

"No, Nolre, it was a sea monster," she piped in, turning to them "it was a sea monster and it had tentacles and an eye and it made a really low sound and it went WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH--" Del slammed her arms down on the counter, making them into tentacles, and tried her best to imitate the low roar of the Leviathan. The bartender did a double take at Del's arms. "Remember?"

Nolre stared into Del's eyes for a moment before giving up. He turned to the bartender to explain what the creature actually was and Del gave a grin, satisfied that he was getting it right now.

?Usually hostile, and the females are twice as big as the males." Nolre made this an important point to Del, "What we saw back there was a male.?
Del scowled. ?I knew that,? she insisted.
?Anyway?? As Nolre continued, Del turned to Bobby.
?I didn?t really,? she confessed in a hushed voice.
"If you want that job, you'll come with Del and I after I'm done here. Be warned, it's fairly dangerous," Nolre said to Bobby, before turning back to the woman.
?Oh, please do!? she exclaimed. ?You can bring all of the wonderful hats that you want!?

A few minutes later, Nolre tapped Del on the shoulder. "I'm gonna go look for Delial. Do you wanna help?"
?Yes,? she agreed. ?I like Delial. He helps me write my reports, you know. I mean it?s not like I can?t write them myself, I?m not stupid or anything, but when I do, I get a little distracted sometimes and I completely forget what the report was supposed to be able so Delial helps me not get distracted and make sure the report is just about the report instead of the colours on the pen I?m writing with. Um, where are you going?? she asked when she noticed Nolre going to the door.
?We?re going to find Delial.?
?Oh yes, I forgot. Come with us,? Del said to Bobby, reaching over to grab his arm and pull him in their direction. ?Goodbye, juice lady! Thank you for the juice.?

?Noooolreeee,? Del sang as they walked away from the bar.
?Yes?? he sighed.
?I was lying earlier. What I said, it wasn?t true.?
?Oh??
She nodded. ?I actually do like mango juice.?

When they got back to the parking lot near the shipyard, Nolre pulled his car keys out of his pocket. Del squealed.

?Can I drive!??
?No.?
?Please? I bet I?m really good.?
?No.?
?Pleeeeease??
?No.?
?Hmph.?

She scowled and folded her arms irately after climbing into the front seat.

{{Ended up feeling too tired to post, however, I was going to leave it so that you could get them to Hocus and Pocus, Nolre. Feel free to do so. Paint us a picture of your wondrous imaginings with your words, sir.}}

Huge post is going to be huge.
Sorry I controlled your characters so much, guys, but none of you were online.
And my connection died while writing this, so if you did come online, I missed you.

Nolre, Del, and Bobby walked out into the parking lot and Nolre got into his car. Del and Bobby followed, Bobby sitting in the front.

"Bobby, do you like shooting things?"
"Nolre doesn't like shooting things but he's really really good."

Nolre lit up a cigarette and shook his head.

"Mmmmmhmmmmm, I've seen Nolre shoot a thing from reeeeeeally far away, once, and then the thing fell and we ran over to it, and it had the bullet right through the eye, and Nolre said-" Del threw on a deeper, whispery voice to impersonate Nolre, "-That's the only way to kill them."

Nolre offered a cigarette to Bobby and he took it.

"So?"
"I suppose I don't find any sport in it, but if shit had to happen-" Nolre lit Bobby's cigarette, "-yeah, I'd be able to go through with it."
"You said a bad word..."
"Why do you ask?" Bobby took a drag and blew the smoke out of his window.
"Well.. I work for both the department of Hocus and Pocus that's only purpose is to murder things, and the department that makes murdering much, much easier. You'll probably work for the first one."
"Nolre, he said a bad word."
"So, what, I'd just be paid to go around and shoot things?"

Del started drumming on the back seat and Nolre shook his head again.

"It's more complicated than that. We're like a police force with zero tolerance and trigger fingers." Nolre received a text from Delial. He followed Mr. Swan to a Lycan's apartment, and then Swan disappeared. The text had the address in it.

The car finally pulled out of the parking lot and Nolre rubbed his eyes, leaning back in his seat.

"This station used to play some badass jazz, man, but nowadays it's just new shit with no soul. No funk. There's no emotion in it, you know? It's like an equation now."

He turned on the radio and kept the volume low. Jazz quietly filled the car as it drove through the dark streets, and it was only a few minutes before they arrived at the apartment complex.

Nolre addressed Bobby and Del. "You two wait here, I'll be back in a second."

Nolre got out of the car and lit up another cigarette. He walked through the empty complex, leaving smoke behind him, and found Delial on the balcony of a third story apartment. Nolre climbed up the other two balconies to get to Delial.

"Swan wanted me to kill them, I guess, but I haven't got a gun."

Nolre frowned, he'd been trying for years to keep Delial away from the dangerous side of Hocus and Pocus. Something wasn't right with Swan lately; between recruiting employees of the combat type and his Need-To-Know way of functioning, he had something odd going through his mind and Nolre intended to figure out what it was.

On the balcony was a plastic table and two chairs. Nolre sat down in one and propped his feet up on the table, taking a long drag of the cigarette and rubbing his eyes. Delial sat in the other chair and stared off into space, as he was most likely doing before Nolre's arrival.

"Delial," Nolre started.
"I know."
"Under no circumstances-"
"I know."
"No matter how much they intend to pay you-"
"I get it."

Nolre took another drag and exhaled with a sigh.

"This is such bullshit."
"I thought you wanted me to get a job?"
"I did. But not the same one I have."
"I'm not a homeless teenager anymore, Nolre. You don't have to keep protecting me like this."

Something in Nolre's chest agreed, but the rest of him thought it'd be a bad idea to let Delial do as he pleased. Nolre opened his mouth to explain himself, but his cell phone rang. He took a moment to find it on his person before finally answering.

"Hello?"
"...Uh, hi. This is..."
"The bartender, right? How can I be of service to you?"
"Well, I don't know. Uhh, did you want to do something tomorrow. I'm bored with everyone I know, you seem like you wouldn't make for horrible company."

Delial, overhearing their conversation, made thrusting motions. Nolre chuckled a bit before answering, "Yeah, sure."
"Alright, where should I meet you and around what time?"

The door to the apartment opened, and Nolre jumped to his feet.

"I'll call you. Goodnight."
He hung up and withdrew a revolver from beneath his coat. Delial and he stormed into the apartment, and Nolre fired three silver bullets into the chest of the Lycan. Not being invited into the house, he immediately felt nauseous and was tackled into a wall by a second Lycan.

Fists slammed into Nolre's gut, and his nose started to bleed. He sent a fist into the nose of the attacker and it gave him just a bit of breathing room. Nolre's vision started to blur, and he vomited. He was thrown up against the wall again and a knee met his gut. He coughed up blood and the Lycan backed off, turning to Delial. Nolre made for a weak tackle but the Lycan twisted and threw him out of the apartment through the open door.

Fresh air entered Nolre's lungs, and his head started to clear up. His opponent dropped a knee into his chest and Nolre coughed up more blood. Fists flew at his face, but his vision started to clear. Nolre saw a moment where the Lycan's swing was too wide and sent a strong jab into its throat. It fell off of him and struggled to breathe, and Nolre kicked it down the three flights of stairs, following it with a knee to its chest.

People started to come out of their homes and Delial attempted to explain the situation.

"Just a costume party, folks. Let the hobo and the werewolf work it out."

Nolre ended up on top and sent fist after fist into the Lycan's face until it stopped moving. He sat there for a moment to catch his breath, and then picked up the beast and threw it over his shoulder. A man made to confront Nolre, stepping in front of him.

"What's the deal, man? Why'd you beat his ass into the ground?!"
"HE FUCKED MY SISTER. GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY WAY."

The man stepped aside and Delial followed Nolre back to his car, holding in a riotous laugh. Nolre knocked on Bobby's window and asked him to pop the trunk. He around back and slammed the heavy thing onto a spare tire and closed the trunk. Nolre got into the car as Delial got into the back seat with Del, and Nolre turned the jazz up louder as they drove away.

"Hiiiiii Delial!!!," Del screamed. Delial quietly responded and leaned his head against the window, watching the streetlights as they passed.

"Tonight's an exciting night for you, Bobby."
"Yeah? Why's that?"
"You get to see headquarters."

Nolre pulled up to a grimy hotel a few minutes later and opened the trunk. He retrieved the Lycan's body and walked into the building, telling Delial to wait outside so that Del doesn't steal the car. Nolre walked into the lobby and asked to see the head of the Threats Department. She waved him through, raising an eyebrow at the beast on his shoulder, and Nolre followed a hallway to the left.

Nolre kicked the door to 303 open and slammed the unconscious Lycan down on Mr. Greene's desk before the Department Head could fake a sincere smile and greeting. Behind a mahogany desk sat a pathetic, cowardly man who had made thousands of stupid decisions, and Nolre hated him with all of his demonic rage.

"What the fuck is that, Dick."
"It's Richard."
"It's Dick, motherfucker."

The man's eyes went from Nolre to the Lycan and back again.

"Easy. That's a werewolf."
"You're a stupid motherfucker. Tonight isn't a full moon. How the fuck did you make Department Head if you're this much of a stupid fuck?"
"Well, then, if you have all the answers, what is it?"
"It's a Lycan, Dick, and it is a son of a bitch to fight."
"Why? It looks like you can take it."
"They travel in packs, Dick. Now tell me whose bright fuckin' idea it was to send an unarmed man after a pack of Lycans."
Mr. Greene chewed on his lip.
"Do you think you could do a better job?"

Nolre leaned over the desk and in under a second was an inch away from Greene's face.

"Fu
ck. Yes. I could do a better job than you."
"I've been in this business for so much longer than you-"
"Oh yeah?"
"-Yeah!"
"You're fifty six you lying fuck. Get your shit straight."
Nolre spat in a cup of Greene's coffee.
"Dispose of this thing."
Greene poked it.
"Is it dead?"

Nolre drew his gun and emptied the last three bullets into the Lycan's gut, spilling blood and organs all over Greene's desk.

"Next time I come here, your sh
it better be packed, motherfucker."
"Yeah, we'll see about that, Aperrelous."

Nolre left the office with a hole in its wall and met Delial at the door.

"How's he doing?"
"He's still a spineless asshole. Come on, we need to take Bobby home."

A young girl walked into Eve?s office and handed her some forms. She glanced over them and read that she was to report to the coroner?s office. She sighed in frustration, as if looking after the new recruits weren?t enough. She turned to the young girl and thanked her for the report.

Minutes later after finishing off some paper work, she decided to head off to the coroner?s office. Down the hallways on her way, she was greeted respectfully by her colleagues, nodding and smiling and saying hello back.

Eve arrived at the doorway of the office and saw the pile of paperwork on her desk. ?I really need an assistant.? She spoke to no one in particular. Eve was the one that multitasked all of Hocus Pocus, being qualified for almost everything. Usually Eve was on top of things, but when it came to recruitment time of the year, she struggled to keep up with the workload around the joint.

Eve put on her surgical mask and gloves and walked over to the body of what looked like a Lycan. ?Well, I haven?t seen one of you in a while.? She talked to the deceased all the time. ?Now, let?s see what I can tell from you.? She grabbed her scalpel and began taking samples for her to later examine. ?Hmm. Well I can see that you?re female.? After a few more minutes Eve noticed something else. ?Oh dear.?

Eve pulled off her mask and took off her gloves and went to the phone to dial the extension number for Mr. Greene?s desk. ?Hello Mr. Greene. Yes the young man that brought in the Lycans. Did he happen to mention that he found a cub around by any chance??

After a rather interesting conversation with Del, in which he learned quite a few things, they reached the shore. She got distracted by the appearance of Nolre quite soon, and the two headed off to a bar nearby. Bobby lurked around outside for a while longer, listening in on what others were talking about, though that soon grew boring as they turned out to be, surprisingly for a group of such unique individuals, boring as fuck.

He decided to head into the bar Del and Nolre had gone to as they'd proved entertaining already so far, and they also had more knowledge about what was going on than the others who were in the same position as him.

Del walked over to him the moment she saw him and grinned.

“You again,” he said.
“Give me that please,” she responded, pointing to his hat.

He handed it over happily, watching her finding tremendous fun in it, and headed over to the bar where Nolre was sat talking to a young female bartender and attempting to drink himself into a coma, or so it appeared. Bobby had a feeling it would be impossible anyway as he doubted very much that the man was human.

The boy walked over to the next barmaid along and leaned on the counter.

"Just a beer, please."
"Are you sure you're old enough to drink?" she looked at him sceptically. He reached into the inside pocket of his jacket and pulled out a small roll of cash, taking a note and holding it out.
"I'm old enough to tip in hundred dollar bills."
Her face lit up immediately. "Yes sir!" She wasted no time in getting him his drink, and as promised he gave her considerably more than the beverage cost, telling her to keep the change.

It appeared Nolre had been explaining the events of the evening to the woman still serving him one drink after another, without omitting any details such as the giant sea monster, or at least he was until Del promptly corrected him. At that point he began to talk in detail about the creature they'd faced. However when he noticed the look on the girl's face he stopped.

"I guess it does sound crazy." He turned in his seat to face Bobby. "If you want that job, you'll come with Del and I after I'm done here. Be warned, it's fairly dangerous." He didn't wait for an answer, but instead turned back to the bartender and began chatting her up.

Bobby took a swig of his beer. He didn't exactly have anything better to do than go with them, and it was certainly the most interesting proposition he'd had in a while. There wasn't any way he was going to turn it down just to go back to the usual crap.

After a minute or so Nolre placed a piece of paper down on the counter, then took one last drink before pushing himself to his feet and tapping Del on the shoulder.

"I'm gonna go look for Delial. Do you wanna help?"
“Yes,” she agreed. “I like Delial. He helps me write my reports, you know. I mean it’s not like I can’t write them myself, I’m not stupid or anything, but when I do, I get a little distracted sometimes and I completely forget what the report was supposed to be able so Delial helps me not get distracted and make sure the report is just about the report instead of the colours on the pen I’m writing with. Um, where are you going?” she asked when she noticed Nolre going to the door. Bobby raised an eyebrow.
“We’re going to find Delial.”
“Oh yes, I forgot. Come with us,” Del said to Bobby, reaching over to grab his arm and pull him in their direction. It seemed he didn't have a choice in the matter. “Goodbye, juice lady! Thank you for the juice.”

When they got back to the parking lot near the shipyard, Nolre pulled his car keys out of his pocket. Del squealed.

“Can I drive!?”
“No.”
“Please? I bet I’m really good.”
“No.”
“Pleeeeease?”
“No.”
“Hmph.”

She scowled and folded her arms irately after climbing into the front seat. Bobby climbed into the vehicle after her.

"Bobby, do you like shooting things?" Nolre asked.
"Nolre doesn't like shooting things but he's really really good." He lit up a cigarette and shook his head.
"I see."

We're like a police force with zero tolerance and trigger fingers." He was cut off by receiving a text message. He checked it and then proceeded to pull the car out of the parking lot, rubbing his eyes. "This station used to play some badass jazz, man, but nowadays it's just new shit with no soul. No funk. There's no emotion in it, you know? It's like an equation now."

He turned on the radio and kept the volume low. Jazz quietly filled the car as it drove through the dark streets, and it was only a few minutes before they arrived at an apartment complex.

Nolre addressed Bobby and Del. "You two wait here, I'll be back in a second." Nolre got out of the car and lit up another cigarette before heading off.

"So, who's Delial?" he asked Del.
"Ohh, Delial's nice. I like him. He's a friend of Nolre's and he's super smart and can speak lots of languages," she informed him happily.
"He lives here? Looks abandoned..." Bobby said, glancing at the complex.
"No, he lives with Nolre."
"So why's he here? Something to do with Hocus and Pocus?"
She shrugged. "I don't know. He doesn't work for them."

After hearing a bit of a ruckus in the place Nolre stepped out with a man slung over his shoulder and another accompanying him. Bobby hoped that Delial was the one who wasn't unconscious...or dead. After placing the man in the boot Nolre got into the car and who Bobby assumed was Delial got into the back seat.

"Hiiiiii Delial!!!," Del screamed, confirming the identity of the man.

He retrieved the man and walked into the building, telling Delial to wait outside so that Del doesn't steal the car.

"So," Bobby turned to Delial. "You're Delial, then. I'm Bobby. I'm apparently an employee of Hocus and Pocus now." Delial just nodded a little. "Del tells me you're pretty smart."
"Ohh, Delial's really smart," she piped up. "And he knows lots about supernatural things, because he has the...as...ass...ass burgers."
"Asperger's," the man corrected.
"That's it!" Del exclaimed. "It makes him really smart at this stuff."
"I see." The boy remained silent for a moment. "I got no clue what that means."
"Nolre says he's a spastic," Del said happily.
"He's joking, Del," Delial said.
"Oh...it's...what, he's... He doesn't seem like a 'spaz' to me."
"He's a special brand of weird, Nolre says."
"I...see. I guess I'll ask Nolre or something." Suddenly Delial climbed out of the car and headed in the same direction Nolre had. "Oh, did I offend him or something?"
"I don't think so. He just does stuff," Del said vaguely, shrugging. Her face lit up all of a sudden. "Wanna see me drive!?"
"Uhh," thankfully before she had the chance, Nolre and Delial returned.

They got into the car and the former turned to Bobby. "Where do you live?"
"Why? Was that headquarters? Is that it? That's all I get to see?"
"It's late. I can drop by and get you tomorrow and take you to work."
"I don't have a home," Bobby said simply. "I live wherever." He shrugged. The man lowered his head and sighed. "I apologise if I am making this complicated. You can drop me off at like, a street corner or something. I could meet you there at a certain time again tomorrow. I can find a place to stay. People are easily dealt with."*
"Well, they can get you a place at Hocus and Pocus tomorrow."
"My own pad? Sweet."
"Yeah."
"I WANNA GO WITH BOBBY!" Del sang suddenly. Nolre turned to look at her. She smiled and lifted a hand to wave. He sighed again, heavier this time and pinching the bridge of his nose. There was no way she'd be safe to leave on some street corner with Bobby, the boy knew this already.
"You should stay at my place tonight," he relented. "It's late anyway, beats driving to work and back I guess," he lowered his voice to a mumble and continued to complain to himself, turning the radio up as he began to drive.
"Yay! A sleepover!" she clapped her hands together.
As they drove off Bobby noticed a homeless bum stumbling down the road. "Hey, run that hobo over," Bobby suggested.

{{*Stabby stabby.

Yeah, so...ha. That's what you get for leaving me alone with this plot here. Enjoy. ALSO YOU SHOULD TTLY MAKE HIM RUN THAT HOBO OVER FOR LULZ. I left it open because, well...Nolre might.}}

When they arrived at Nolre’s place, Del leapt out of the car before it even came to a full stop. She rushed toward the front door, having been there so many times before, but it was locked. She huffed as she pulled fruitlessly as the handle. Nolre walked up beside her casually, pulling his key from his key chain. Del turned to see Bobby lagging behind and she ran over to him, grabbing him by the arm and pulling him forward diligently.

When they were inside, Nolre flicked on the light. Del was about to rush inside, but Delial grabbed onto her shoulder and pointed to her shoes. She grimaced, impatiently kicking them off before running toward the living room, dragging Bobby behind her.

“I get the couch!” Del exclaimed.
“Says who?” Bobby challenged.
“Me,” she replied, folding her arms.
“I’ll fightcha for it,” he proposed with a grin.
“You’ll lose,” Nolre warned as he walked by.

Del plopped down on the couch, looking around excitedly even though she’d been there countless times in the past. She only remained seated for a few moments before she got up again, going to examine the hallway. She peaked into Delial’s room, looking around, but not going in as she recalled the man was particular about having people just wander into his room. She did, however, wander into Nolre’s, as he never seemed to care. She walked around, looking at things with interest before scurrying back out.

When they were left alone, Bobby sat on the sofa and turned on the television, flicking through the channels. Del sat down on the floor in front of it with bewilderment. There were no televisions at HQ, which was where she resided, and anything she didn’t see on a daily basis was cause for wonder as far as she was concerned. When a commercial with a dog appeared, she squealed with delight, but Bobby changed the channel. She turned to him and scowled.

“Bring the doggy back,” she demanded.
“The commercial's over now anyway.”
“Bring him back,” she repeated firmly.
He flicked back and as he predicted, the dog was gone. “See?”
She stared at the screen with wide, sad eyes for a long, remorseful moment. But instantly, her smile returned and she turned to Bobby. “Want to play a game?”
“What kinda game?”
“It’s a game I play with Delial and Eve sometimes. I make little tiny versions of things and I have to remember the names of them to go with it. Only this time, you have to remember the names of them.”
“But I don’t know the names of them,” he reminded her.
“Well now you’ll learn them,” she emphasized.

He shrugged and conceded, having nothing better to do really. Del clapped her hands together and then sat down before him on the floor, keeping a couple of feet between them. She conjured up the smaller version of a creature she remembered seeing only once. It had three heads and bodies of men and one of them carried a club. It was a violent creature that started shouting in its tiny voices, banging on Nolre’s carpet with the club.

“Well? What’s it called?” she asked him.
“A sausage fest,” Bobby replied, raising an eyebrow.
“Wrong!”
“What is it then?”
Del opened her mouth to speak and then paused, looking back down at the creature. She furrowed her brow and brought a finger to her chin. “Um, I forget.”
“This game isn’t going to go very far of neither of us know the names of shit.”
“You said a bad word!” she cried, lifting her hand and pointing to him.
“Who says it’s a bad word?”
“Um, Mister Goose,” Del recalled, thinking of all the times she’d embarrassed him in front of his associates by repeating words she’d heard people say. “And besides, I know it’s a bad word. I’m not stupid.”
"Well, it's okay to say bad words sometimes. I mean, as long as you're not with uptight people, or around people you work with. Then it's pretty much fine. Anyone who who gets annoyed by it is just funny to watch get their panties in a wad."
Del cocked her head to the side. “Mister Goose wears panties?”
The boy nodded. "Probably ladies', too. And stockings and everything."

She lifted her hand to her face and giggled, then created a tiny tulpa of Swan in nothing but women’s underwear and stockings. Bobby burst out laughing and reached down to pick the miniature man up. The tiny Mister Swan started to scream in fear.

“Hey, little fella,” Bobby said and reached up. He started to pull on the man’s left arm, applying more strength until the limb tore off the socket. It bled onto his hand and Del giggled as she watched him. “Oh shit,” Bobby stated in surprise, then repeated the same process on the other limb.

“Bobby?” Del asked after a moment of watching him pull Mister Swan to pieces.
“Yeah?”
“Are you scared?”
“Of what?”
“People die a lot in Hocus Pocus, you know. I make lots of friends and then I never see them again because they die or get eaten by monsters, which is I guess the same thing, except sometimes the monsters spit them right back out again or they don’t chew them and we can cut them out of their bellies, but that usually kills them to, only sometimes it doesn’t. Um…what was I saying? Oh yeah!” she said, remembering. “People die a whole lot. Even the really strong ones.”
"...They do, huh?" he asked, then paused for a moment. "Sounds even more fun now."

Del grinned happily, pleased to hear that despite the dangers, Bobby would be sticking around.

Nolre opened the door and let the others go in before him. Del rushed to the couch, proclaiming that it was hers, and Bobby disagreed.

?Says who?? Bobby challenged.
?Me,? she replied, folding her arms.
?I?ll fightcha for it,? he proposed with a grin.
?You?ll lose,? Nolre warned as he walked by.

He walked to the kitchen, opening the fridge and grabbing for a red steak. He slapped the uncooked meat down on a plate and went to the dining table to watch Del as she wandered around the house. Delial joined Nolre at the table, and they spoke in hushed voices.

"Do you think he'll be in the Threats Department?"
"I know he'll be in the threats department," Nolre said quietly, tearing a huge piece of the steak off.
"What's so bad about it? What drives you crazy?"
"Half of the things aren't even threats." Nolre threw the piece of meat into his mouth and started to chew, welcoming the taste of blood and raw.
"I doubt those Lycans today were doing anything other than living a normal life. They didn't smell like blood or anything."

Nolre swallowed the piece of meat and tore off another when his phone vibrated. He licked at his fingers and then took the phone from his pocket to read the text.

Nolre stuffed the phone into his pocket and took one last bite of the steak before pushing himself to his feet and shuffling off to his room. He searched around for a bit to find a box of bullets, and he reloaded his gun with them. He walked out of his room, stepping over a heroin needle, and pronounce to the others that he would be back in a bit.

Delial went to the kitchen and put some coffee on. As he returned to the dining table, Del came out of Nolre's room with a bag of weed.

"Delial, what kind of herb is this? Bobby said it goes on cereal but I don't know if I like herbs on my cereal. Do you remember if I like herbs on my cereal?"
"No one likes herbs on their cereal, Del. Besides, that's not what that is."
"Are you sure? It looks like herbs. I wonder if it's basil!"
She went to taste it but Delial snatched the bag from her and scolded her.
"Don't put that in your mouth. Give it here."
Del furrowed her brow and tried to grab it back from him.
"Hey, finders keepers, Delial! Give it back! Find your own cereal herbs!"
"Get away-stop-Del, seriously, stop-these aren't cereal herbs-stoppit-I'll ****ing hit you, I swear."
Del kept at it, growing angrier.
"No you won't because I'll tell Nolre!"
The bag tore, and weed fell all over the ground.
"Look what you did! What am I supposed to put on my cereal now!"
Delial snapped.
"FUCKING MILK."
Delial made to clean it up, and Del pouted, crossing her arms.
"Don't yell at me."
Delial sighed and said, "I'm sorry. Do you want some cereal?"
Del instantly beamed and jumped. "Yes please! If it's not cereal herbs, what is it?"
Delial answered, smelling the weed. "I think it's kush... What kind of cereal do you want?"
"Um, do you have the cereal that's yellow on the outside and red on the inside and tastes like green peppers?"
Delial raised an eyebrow.
"No we're fresh out. We have Lucky Charms, Cherrios, stale Honey Bunches of Oats, and I think these are a knock off of Fruity Pebbles."
"Um, Luck Charms. But only the marshmellows please. What's kush?"
Delial went to the kitchen and opened a pantry.
"It's pretty awesome. Big bowl or little bowl?"
"A big bowl!" she said, looking at the baggy. "Can I have some? I want some."
"I think we're out of papers, and Nolre doesn't believe in pipes or bongs... But it would calm you down... Get me an apple from the fridge."
"Okay!" Del piped, running to the fridge to retrieve an apple.
"Can you pour your own cereal? I'm going to make this apple into something you can use the kush in."
"Okayyyy."
Del began separating all of the marshmallows from the cereal while Delial carved the apple into a bong.
"That cereal will taste like a Maine Lobster when you're done with this."
Delial prepared a bowl and fished around in one of the drawers for a lighter. "This is how you use kush, Del." He lit the apple and took a hit, exhaling slowly, then handed the apple to Del.
"I can make it taste like lobster anyway," She proudly proclaimed, taking a huge hit of the apple's contents. She coughed profusely and tried to pound her chest back into working condition.
"Take it slowly, God damn. You only need to take small puffs, inhale slowly, and exhale even slower. Do you know what a good high is? You most certainly will."
"I feel funny...Delial...have you always had two mouths? I miss Stanley...he was a good fish, really...That apple is yucky. Delial, all of your mouths are talking at once!
"
"Who was Stanley?"
"My pet fish. He was nice and everything, but he was just constantly swimming and it was SO annoying. Why does he have to swim all the time? He's not a REAL fish. Maybe I should bring him back. Maybe Bobby would like him. These marshmallows taste like green peppers!"
Delial began to zone out and sat on the kitchen counter. "Right on.... right on......."

Nolre arrived at the designated intersection and got out of his car, facing the apartments. They were awfully quiet, but a scream from inside broke the quiet air. Nolre ran across the empty street and climbed over the gate that led to the complex. He followed the screams to apartment 7642. The door was wide open, thus inviting him in.

A woman was on the couch, her stomach ripped open and her insides exposed, and her intestines trailed into the middle of the living room where a man was crouched and devouring them. The woman was trying to move, but her legs and arms had obviously been broken. Blood poured from her wounds, and she hand covered herself and the couch in her own hand prints.

"Lovely," Nolre joked.

The ghoul snapped its head around at him and bared its teeth, hissing. It turned to face him completely and poised to crouch. Nolre went for his gun.

"I fucking dare you."

The flesh eater lunged at Nolre to meet a bullet that tore through it's head. Holy water exploded from the bullet and seared the ghoul's head. It writhed on the floor for a moment, screeching, before falling quiet and still. The woman gasped for air and wheezed. Nolre put a bullet in her head and turned to leave when another ghoul tackled him.

The gun fell from Nolre's grasp and slid across the floor. The thing snapped at him and Nolre tried to keep its teeth away from his throat. It screeched at him, and Nolre headbutted it in the nose. It lessened its attack for a moment and Nolre threw it off of him, jumping to its feet just as it stepped toward him. Nolre threw a punch at its face, knocking it back, and then tackled it through the open doorway and into the cold night air.

Humans had come out of their homes to investigate the gunshot, and Nolre smashed his fists relentlessly into the thing's face, collapsing its jaw and then its cheeks. It stopped squirming and Nolre rose to his feet, walking back into the apartment to retrieve his gun. When he stepped back out, more of the things were charging him, and he broke into a run through the apartment's courtyard.

He turned a corner, the ghouls following closely behind him. Looking behind himself, he bumped into the pretty bartender from earlier that day, and spoke quickly.

"Hey--Jessy, was it?--Imagine meeting you here. What say you we run away somewhere?"

Jessy looked as though she was sleeping soundly, but her dreams were of horrid things. As usual. They were filled with curdling screams, strange pale faces she'd never seen before, and the little boy that always sat quietly in the corner. He never really cried, but rather an everlasting whine. She tossed and turned for a bit, and soon an actual scream woke her. Startled, she sat up in her bed and stared out through her window. Everything seemed to look normal. She put on some underwear and a big shirt, making her way out to the living room. Jack looked as though he was dead on the couch. She tip-toed to the kitchen and got herself a glass of water. She heard a distant bang coming from outside, something like a gunshot, but again, she decided it was nothing. They didn't live in the best neighborhood, probably some drunk threatening his wife by shooting off into the sky.

Her mouth craved for a cigarette. She slipped her feet into some flip flops and stepped out quietly. Trotting down the stairs, she lit her cigarette. The night was calm and very still. It wasn't as cold as it was earlier, it was actually quite nice. She leaned back against the wall and took a long drag of her cigarette. Her lungs filled with smoke as she leaned her head back and closed her eyes momentarily. A cloud of smoke hovered around her as she exhaled. Taking another drag, her mind wandered back to the conversation with Jack earlier that night. Then back to the man at the bar, with his wild tales. Was everyone finally catching on to her crazy, as if it was contagious, or could it be possible that the man was really telling the truth, and Jack was just doing his duty as a brother and protecting her.

As thoughts wandered in and out of her mind, Jessy thought she heard footsteps approaching her. Again, thinking it was nothing she continued to smoke her cigarette. Closing her eyes, once more she took another long drag. Just as she exhaled, her body met with another man's quite forcefully.
"OW! What the fuck!" She shouted at the figure in the dark. The man panted. The dim light from the apartments revealed his face. It was Nolre.

"Hey--Jessy, was it?--Imagine meeting you here. What say you we run away somewhere?" He grabbed her by the arm and began to sprint. She whined as she lost a flip flop on the way, and barely kept up.
"I thought you were going to call tomorrow?!" She yelled, breathlessly.
"Couldn't wait, thought I'd just show up instead." Even while running through the night, sweaty and a mess, he managed to remain charming.
"Why are we running?" She remembered to ask. Since he had emerged in such a sudden manner, she had forgotten to even take a look at her surrounding and inquire as to why they were running aimlessly through her apartment buildings.
"Look behind you," he said casually. She turned her head and froze in shock. Not too far behind them was a pack of... a pack of... she didn't know what. She was so dumbfounded, she couldn't even force a scream from her mouth. Nolre yanked at her arm, "Don't just fucking stand there! We've got to keep running."

She snapped out of her shock and quickened her speed. The fear of whatever it was back there had really lit a fire under her, for she running as fast as Nolre now, and almost surpassing him.
"What are those things!!?" She asked in between breaths.
"Ghouls."
"GHOULS? I thought those were suppose to look like ghosts. You know, pale white things that float... sometimes friendly. Kinda like casper." She frantically ranted.
"These things look like they could tear me to pieces."
"They can. Which is why we're running."
"Well, where the fuck to? They're going to catch up sooner or later. Can't you like kill them or something?"

"GHOULS? I thought those were suppose to look like ghosts. You know, pale white things that float... sometimes friendly. Kinda like Casper." Nolre was growing annoyed by her ranting.
"These things look like they could tear me to pieces."
"They can. Which is why we're running."
"Well, where the fuck to? They're going to catch up sooner or later. Can't you like kill them or something?"

Nolre chewed his lip and considered it. There were five of them, and he had fired one, two shots in the apartment.. had he fired another? Lost in his thoughts, he noticed that he was starting to slow down and tried to speed up.

His gun held twelve bullets, and that spared him ten. Nolre let go of Jessy's arm and stopped, turning on his heel and raising his gun.

The first four shots struck the ghouls in their foreheads, but Nolre lowered his gun to take out the last one's knee. It fell quickly and thudded loudly on the cement, then tried to crawl. Nolre raised his foot and stomped its throat, crushing its windpipe and its spine. It stopped squirming but let out a slow, pained groan.

There was a tag on the back of its head that signified it belonged to Hocus and Pocus, and Nolre lit up a cigarette. He sighed when he exhaled, and scratched his head as he walked back to the girl.

"My car isn't too far from here, you want me to take you someplace safe?"

Nolre didn't wait for an answer, he just kept walking to his car and got in. Jessy followed, and Nolre examined her while he started the car.

"You're not wearing any pants."

She blushed.
"Right on," he charmed as he put the car in gear and offered her a cigarette.
"We're going to my place, are you cool with that?"

When they arrived at Nolre's apartment he flicked on the lights, though before Del could rush inside Delial instructed for her to remove her shoes, something Bobby followed suit in only to get halfway out of his own before the girl grabbed a hold of him and dragged him through to the living room with her.

?I get the couch!? Del exclaimed.
?Says who?? Bobby challenged.
?Me,? she replied, folding her arms.
?I?ll fightcha for it,? he proposed with a grin.
?You?ll lose,? Nolre warned as he walked by.

Bobby considered it for a moment and decided it might be best to let her win, though mere moments after sitting down she was back on her feet, heading off to look around the place.

Despite there being plenty for the teen to investigate, he instead slumped down on the sofa and turned the TV on. His way of looking around a place was better left for when he was on his own anyway. Just as he'd turned the set on Del hurried back in and, after being disappointed in the lack of seeing a dog on TV, suggested they instead play a game.

?What kinda game?? he asked.
?It?s a game I play with Delial and Eve sometimes. I make little tiny versions of things and I have to remember the names of them to go with it. Only this time, you have to remember the names of them.?
?But I don?t know the names of them,? he reminded her.
?Well now you?ll learn them,? she emphasized.

He shrugged and conceded, having nothing better to do really. Del clapped her hands together and then sat down before him on the floor, keeping a couple of feet between them. She conjured up the smaller version of a freaky looking thing with three heads and bodies of men, one of them carrying a club. It was a violent creature that started shouting in its tiny voices, banging on Nolre?s carpet with the club.

?Well? What?s it called?? she asked him.
?A sausage fest,? Bobby replied, raising an eyebrow.
?Wrong!?
?What is it then??
Del opened her mouth to speak and then paused, looking back down at the creature. She furrowed her brow and brought a finger to her chin. ?Um, I forget.?
?This game isn?t going to go very far of neither of us know the names of shit.?
?You said a bad word!? she cried, lifting her hand and pointing to him.
?Who says it?s a bad word??
?Um, Mister Goose,? Del replied. ?And besides, I know it?s a bad word. I?m not stupid.?
"Well, it's okay to say bad words sometimes. I mean, as long as you're not with uptight people, or around people you work with. Then it's pretty much fine. Anyone who who gets annoyed by it is just funny to watch get their panties in a wad."
Del cocked her head to the side. ?Mister Goose wears panties??
The boy nodded. "Probably ladies', too. And stockings and everything."

She lifted her hand to her face and giggled, then created a tiny tulpa of Swan in nothing but women?s underwear and stockings. Bobby burst out laughing and reached down to pick the miniature man up. The tiny Mister Swan started to scream in fear.

?Hey, little fella,? Bobby said and reached up. He started to pull on the man?s left arm, applying more strength until the limb tore off the socket. It bled onto his hand and Del giggled as she watched him. ?Oh shit,? Bobby stated in surprise, then repeated the same process on the other limb. It was awesome. He proceeded to rip him up into little pieces, finding great amusement in watching the weird little doppelg?nger apparently dying.

?Bobby?? Del asked after a moment.
?Yeah??
?Are you scared??
?Of what?? he looked up.
?People die a lot in Hocus Pocus, you know. I make lots of friends and then I never see them again because they die or get eaten by monsters, which is I guess the same thing, except sometimes the monsters spit them right back out again or they don?t chew them and we can cut them out of their bellies, but that usually kills them to, only sometimes it doesn?t. Um?what was I saying? Oh yeah!? she said, remembering. ?People die a whole lot. Even the really strong ones.?
"...They do, huh?" he asked, then paused for a moment. "Sounds even more fun now."

Del grinned happily, pleased to hear that Bobby would be sticking around.

Suddenly Nolre appeared and announced that he'd be out for a bit to Del and Bobby, and apparently also Delial who'd been standing to one side without the latter having realised.

As Nolre stepped out, Delial headed into the kitchen and Del ran off into Nolre's room to investigate...something. Bobby stood up to look around while he was alone, but was quickly joined again by Del, who was holding a bag of weed.

"Bobby, what's this?" she asked.
"Looks like herbs to me. Probably for putting on cereal." She looked intrigued and heading into the kitchen, he assumed to bother Delial and possibly eat marijuana on some cereal, which would be extremely entertaining. Either way, she'd possibly be busy for a while.

Bobby turned and walked around the room, looking for anything of interest. He eventually came to a large set of bookcases, absolutely crammed full of books, and all in alphabetical order. When he looked closer he realised they were also in order of subject and, he could've sworn, the type of book, as in what they were bound in, colour, size, possibly even how old each item was.

"Well hot damn," he mumbled to himself as he looked over the names.

There were books on the occult, on every religion he could think of, on a variety of weird sounding creatures - some of which he'd heard of - and how-to books on capturing and killing them, on absolutely every language imaginable and then some. He even saw one that distinctly read "Necronomicon".

"Oh, please let that be real," he said in a hushed voice, though decided against even touching it just in case his wish was granted.

And then he came to a particularly large book entitled "The Comprehensive Encyclopaedia of Creatures of the Supernatural". He slid it off the shelf with a little difficulty, it not only being heavy but packed tightly into place by all the surrounding volumes. Once he'd managed to get a hold of it without knocking everything else off as well, he held it steadily in one arm and opened it up with his free hand.

The front page was adorned with an intricately detailed and somewhat disturbing image of some ungodly monster, and after it lay several pages of contents. It was a bit much to go looking through for something specific, especially when you weren't even looking for anything in particular, so instead he just began to flip through the pages.

As he did so his eye widened.* There were several different sections filled with creatures, and each beast was dedicated a good couple of pages detailing all of its known names, its appearance - along with one or more pictures, its origin, how old it was, how many were known to exist at the time the book was made or whether they were extinct, its behaviour, its strengths and weaknesses, how to avoid it, capture it, get rid of it or kill it and more.

He placed his thumb on the edge of the bulk of the pages and began to flick through, hundreds of names and pictures flashing before his eyes; Serpent, Chupacabra, Harpy, Poltergeist, Mermaid, Aswang, Djinn, Kelpie, Unicorn, Gryphon, Wendigo...Demons. An entire section on them, and a large one at that.

Bobby could almost feel his mouth watering at the prospect. All of these weird, disturbing and dangerous monsters really existed? Would he get to see them? Would he get to interact with them? Kill them? It would be interesting to see how they worked, how one would even go about killing such creatures.

Suddenly he realised it was strangely quiet. He quickly closed the book and shoved it back into its place on the shelf, turning and heading into the kitchen. Both Delial and Del seemed to be spacing out, the latter sitting on one of the counters and the former swaying around. He also saw what appeared to be an apple bong sitting to one side.

"You made a bong out of an apple?" he turned to Delial.
He took a breath, paused for a moment, then finally said, "Yes."
"Killer. So...is she high? She...definitely seems high."
"Bobby!" Del exclaimed upon seeing him. "Do you want to meet Stanley!?"
"Depends, who is he?"
"Are you the one that put the coloured spheres inside my eyes?" she asked, looking at him with wide eyes.
"Is it safe for her to get high, you think?" he turned to Delial.
"Probably not for us."
"Huh."

Suddenly he heard the sound of the door opening and Nolre called to them.

"I'm back." After a moment or so he came into the kitchen. "What's going on? Oh, apple bong. Nice," he said as he noticed it.
"Yeah, is it safe for her to get high?" Bobby pointed to Del with his thumb.

The girl Nolre had been talking to at the bar earlier walked in wearing a big shirt and one flip flop.

"Oh, hi. Apple bong?" he pointed to it and she looked for a moment before shaking her head.
"I'm good, thanks."
"Heeey, aren't you the juice lady?" Del asked, almost falling over her own feet as she walked over to her. "Nolre, I feel weird."
"Hey, didn't you mention before that you didn't have a liver?" Bobby said, his brow furrowing. "So, you're not human either, are you?"

~

{{Not a typo, he's wearing an eye patch, lol.}}

He didn't respond as they kept on running. She noticed his speed was slowing down and gave him a skeptical look. He then made an abrupt stop and let go of her arm. He drew his gun quickly and fired several shots at the creatures that stood before them. One of them was still gasping for air as it began to crawl toward the two. Jessy backed up and got behind Nolre. He stepped forward and stomped on the thing's throat. Soon everything was still.

Jessy stood there in awe at everything she had just witnessed. She was more than just a bit shook up. Jack was trying to protect her, but how did he know of these people? Did he work for them too? Who was them? A million questions raced through her mind as she looked over at the striking man next to her. The night light was exceptionally good to him.

"My car isn't too far from here, you want me to take you somewhere safe?"
"Yeah..." She mumbled quietly doubting he was even listening.

She followed him to the car and felt his eyes on her as she positioned herself in the passenger seat.

"You're not wearing any pants."
She felt her cheeks get hot as she blushed.
"Right on," he charmed as he put the car in gear and offered her a cigarette.
"We're going to my place, are you cool with that?"
She smiled nervously, "Yeah, that's fine."

She took a long drag of her cigarette and relaxed a little.
"Do you live alone?"
"Usually it's just me and Delial, but I've got some company over tonight. Hope you don't mind."
She did mind, she really didn't want to be around too many people at the time, but she hadn't much of a choice. She didn't want to go home.
"Yeah, it's fine."

She took another drag from her cigarette, "Do you mind if I roll down the window?"
"No, go for it."
She blew the smoke out of the window. The wind felt nice in her hair, she was still a bit sweaty from running.
"Is this an average night for you?"
"You could say that."
She gave him a skeptical look. "What exactly is it that you do?"
He eased on the breaks as they came to red light. He looked over at her and paused for a moment before he spoke.
"I'm in the extermination business. And waaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the day, I was a gunsmith."
"Bull****, extermination." She spat back.
"I'm pretty sure I asked exactly what you do."
"Extermination and retaliation, sweetheart, that's what we call it." Nolre took a drag of his cigarette as he stepped on the gas. "And, you know, weapons design."

She gave him an annoyed look and rolled her eyes. He was giving her standard textbook descriptions of what he did. She wanted to know why anyone would hunt those things and how one would even go about getting into that business. She sighed deeply as they pulled up to a building.
"Home sweet home." He put the car in park and got out. She let herself out and felt the cold breeze of the night on her legs. She shivered.
"I regret not wearing pants."
"You can borrow something, I guess."
They made their way up the stairs without saying a word. As they arrived at the doorstep, Nolre drew his key from his pocket.
"I hope your friends aren't creeped out by the fact that I don't have any pants on.... and how I'm missing a shoe."
"My friends don't really get 'creeped' out by anything." He grinned as he opened the door.

The silly girl from the bar was there with a giant bowl of cereal, accompanied by two other boys.
"Hey! It's the lady with the... the... what was it?... WAIT DON'T TELL ME." She scrunched her nose as she pondered intensely about who Jessy was. "The lady with the egg-- JUICE! The lady with the juice!" She proclaimed cheerfully.
Jessy giggled. "Yeah, that's me."
The other man in the room had droopy eyes and a spacey look on his face. They both looked pretty stoned.
"Welcome to the chill zone." He smiled. "It's where we chillax.. that's chill and relax... all at the same time....."
Jessy laughed.
"And that's Delial. Everyone, this is Jessy." Nolre introduced her to them. Delial nodded, the crazy girl was too busy enjoying her bowl of cereal, and the other young boy in the room gave an unenthusiastic wave.

"How come she gets to wear no pants, Nolre!? I don't want to wear pants either. I absolutely hate pants." Del complained.
"I hate pants too, no one should ever wear pants, they're the devil." Joked Jessy.
Del furrowed her brow and looked to Nolre as if asking permission to get rid of her pants.
"You gonna finish that cereal?" Asked Delial, and just like that Del forgot all about her problematic pants and dove back into her cereal.

Jessy noticed Nolre slipping away and followed him. She entered what she figured was his room. He looked startled to see her following so closely behind him as he turned.
"...What? You said I could borrow something."
He gestured to the closet. "There's nothing but jeans here."
"Your point?"
"I can't sleep in jeans, they're uncomfortable."
"Then don't."
She pouted angrily. His arrogance was annoying and alluring all at the same time.

She wandered around the room for a moment and turned to see him changing out of his shirt and into a clean one. She tried hard not to stare.
"Do you have a phone I could use?"
He tossed her his cell phone. "Thanks."
She stepped just outside his door and called Jack, hoping he wouldn't answer. Voicemail, perfect.
"Hey, my friend called me up and asked if I wanted to go for late night coffee. I didn't want to wake you so I just slipped out. I'm going to stay the night here. Just calling so you don't worry. See you soon. Bye." She hung up the phone and made her way back into Nolre's room. He was sitting at the edge of his bed, cigarette in hand. His eyes were glassy. He looked as though he was somewhere else. She made her way over to him and cleared her throat. He didn't even flinch.
"Nolre...?"
Again, he didn't move. She knelt down in front of his face and snapped her fingers, "Hey!"
"What?" He sounded annoyed.
"Sorry...I was just wondering, where am I meant to sleep?" She shifted her weight from one foot to another, feeling uncomfortable asking him that.
Nolre points over his shoulder, taking another drag of his cigarette.
"Right there."
She bit down on her bottom lip, confused, "Where will you sleep then?" The man pointed over his shoulder again.
"You haven't even took me out on a proper date yet and you're already expecting to sleep with me?" She joked as she plopped herself down on the bed. He chuckled a bit, but he still seemed distant. If it were anyone else Jessy would've asked what was the matter, but something about him was off. She felt as though asking or saying the wrong thing would set him off. She may have been completely wrong about this, but for the time being she went with her gut.

She fell back on the pillow and stared up at the ceiling. "Mind sharing those cigarettes?"
He handed her one and lit it for her as she placed it in her mouth. She lay back thinking about all of what had happened in such a short amount of time. All this time she thought monsters only existed in fairy tales and nightmares. She was having a hard time figuring out what was real and what wasn't. Nolre was still sitting at the edge of the bed. It made her uneasy that he hadn't made himself comfortable yet. She eyed him carefully, trying to be discreet. He looked young, but his eyes seemed as though they were older than time itself.

"Nolre.."
"Hm?"
"How old are you?"

(fuuuuuuuuuuuu, laura, i didn't even notice that you had posted, I've just had this window open for so long. There's just little tiny details that are different so if everyone could just... ignore those... that'd be grand.)

After smoking some cereal herbs with Delial, Del started to feel very funny. It became difficult to hold onto one moment to the next, which wasn’t extremely unusual for her, but the state was certainly amplified. She began to remember all sorts of things that she’d meant to remember but had forgotten to. One distinct thing that she couldn’t seem to get her mind off of was how quickly and heartlessly she’d disposed of Stanley. She’d spent ages coming up with the perfect companion and just when she had, she let one simple case of incredibly annoying swimming.

Her level of concentration was actually quite remarkable consideration she could barely remember things from one second to the next on a regular basis. Holding onto a stream of thought for upwards of twenty seconds was actually quite a feat for her.

Just when she was beginning to grow tired of spinning around in circles, she noticed Bobby had returned to the kitchen and lit up.

"Bobby!" Del exclaimed upon seeing him. "Do you want to meet Stanley!?" Before he could respond however, or before Del took a moment to pay attention, something occurred to her. "Are you the one that put the coloured spheres inside my eyes?" she asked, looking at him with wide eyes.
"Is it safe for her to get high, you think?" he turned to Delial.
"Probably not for us."
"Huh."

Suddenly they heard the sound of the door opening and Nolre called to them.

"I'm back." After a moment or so he came into the kitchen. "What's going on? Oh, apple bong. Nice," he said as he noticed it.
"Yeah, is it safe for her to get high?" Bobby pointed to Del with his thumb.
“Nolre, I think I’m going to bring Stanley back. What do you think?”

“Nolre’s a succubus!” Del exclaimed.
“Jesus,” he muttered, lifting a hand to pinch the bridge of his nose.
“Wait, that’s not right, is it?” she thought on it. After a moment she shrugged, no longer caring. She turned to Bobby and let out a cry. “Bobby, your eye is gone! Here,” she said firmly, holding out her hand to reveal a human eyeball. “I made you a new one.”

"Welcome to the chill zone," Delial said to Jessy. "It's where we chillax.. that's chill and relax... all at the same time....." Jessy laughed.
"And that's Delial. Everyone, this is Jessy." Nolre introduced her to them. Delial nodded, Del was too busy enjoying her bowl of cereal, and Bobby gave an unenthusiastic wave.

Then Del noticed something absolutely detrimental.

"How come she gets to wear no pants, Nolre!? I don't want to wear pants either. I absolutely hate pants." Del complained.
"I hate pants too, no one should ever wear pants, they're the devil," joked Jessy.
Del furrowed her brow and looked to Nolre, waiting for the word that she could get rid of her pants.
"You gonna finish that cereal?" asked Delial, and just like that Del forgot all about her problematic pants and dove back into her cereal.

Del distracted herself with trying to remember what Stanley look like, as well as finishing the marshmallow cereal. When she was finished and had given up on reconjuring the fish, Delial and Bobby moved back to the living room. The two males slumped down on the sofa while Del wondered around the room. In this altered state, it was almost as if she’d never been there before.

However, she remembered that Nolre was there only moments ago and she couldn’t recall him leaving. He had been there with a lady, too, she was sure of it. With Bobby and Delial spacing out in a stoned daze, Del took it upon herself to find and potentially rescue Nolre. But when she found him, he was laying down on his bed beside the juice later. A wry grin appeared over Del’s face and she squealed, getting both their attention.

“Are you two making love?” she asked obnoxiously. She held out her hands and conjured two miniature figures of them, naked and...engaging in explicit activities. "OoooOooOoOOOoo-"
"Stop that."
Del popped the vision away and pouted. "Hmph."
Nolre groaned. “Go play with Bobby and Delial, Del.”
“I think they’re dead.”
“Then go dissect their corpses and figure out how they died.”
“Okay!” she sang sweetly and went to do so.

By the time she returned to the living room, the two had passed out. Del cocked her head to the side. She realized she, too, was quite tired. Her eyes were growing heavy and they had stolen her bed. After glaring at them, she hopped up onto the couch between them, pulling her knees up to her chest. She closed her eyes and started humming a song she knew but couldn’t recall the name of, and eventually she sang herself to sleep.

Nolre was awakened by Del's soft voice carrying throughout the house. The bartender's arms were wrapped around him, and he slowly slid out of bed. There was something familiar about the song. Nolre pulled a shirt over his head and looked at the alarm clock.
5:27
He frowned and looked around for his cigarettes, then walked out into the living room. Del was curled up hugging a pillow with her pants cast aside. Bobby and Delial had fallen asleep on the couch with the television on mute. Nolre turned it off and opened the sliding glass door to his balcony. He lit up a cigarette and stared over the city, taking a long drag and rubbing at his tired eyes.

"You could almost call it a family."

Nolre opened his eyes to see Mr. Swan standing beside him, gazing out at the same city, and dressed in a fine silk suit.

"Bobby, the troubled brother. Delial and Del, the children. That girl, the mother. What's her name?"

Nolre took another drag, narrowing his eyes when Swan asked about the girl.

"Gofuckyourself."
"A strange name."
"It's Italian."

Swan's lips curled maliciously.

"The Tangibles you slew last night were released from the research building. Our clean up arrived almost immediately, and the witnesses have been taken care of."
"It was Greene," Nolre said darkly.
"How do you know?"
Nolre narrowed his eyes again. "He's the only Department Head stupid enough to fuck with shit like that."
Swan raised an eyebrow, still looking out at the city.
"You want his position?"
"I want his head."

The two stood in silence for a moment, each avoiding the other's eyes.

"That song.. it is the one she was singing when we found her, correct?"

Nolre recalled the ashes of human remains and their homes. He recalled the devastation Del was skipping around in, devastation by her own hands. He recalled a whimsical poem about a sailor abandoning his wife. He took a hard drag.

"Mhm."

Swan began to sing.

"Sammy, oh Sammy, please come home,
Sammy, oh Sammy, don't let me grow old.
Sammy, oh Sammy, I beg, I plead,
Come home, or I'll kill you while you sleep."

Nolre remembered the man who was curled into a ball, the man who was crying and begging for them not to take Del away. He closed his eyes again and put the cigarette between his teeth, reaching into his pocket.

"I have some business to take care of, if you'll excuse me."

Nolre walked back into the house and toward the door before the knocking even came. When it did, he opened the door and removed the small bag of cocaine from his pocket and handed it to the addict, who was accompanied by a friend.

"I can't thank you enough, Mr. A, really, I mean I just, whenever I need a fix-"
"Yeah, whatever man, just pay a motherfucker."
"Sure thing, man, sure thing.. my friend here, uh, he's kind of, he wants to know if you have any meth."
"No, man, I don't fuck with that shit. Neither should you."

Nolre closed the door and set the money down on the kitchen counter. He reached into the fridge and took out the carton of eggs. He washed a pan and turned on the stove, then opened the carton.

"Three eggs... this is some bullshit..."

Nolre threw on his ripped coat just as Delial was waking up.

"Don't go around dealing out of our home," he slurred, yawning.
"I'm going out to buy some eggs. Please don't give Del any more drugs."

Delial threw loose change at Nolre and grinned sleepily. Nolre walked outside and threw the cigarette down, stepping it out and walking through the dark streets to the twenty four hour convenience store.

Many cars were on the streets at that hour. Nolre walked in silence past an shadowy alleyway, catching a glimpse of a human figure out of the corner of his eye. When he turned to look, there was no one there. Nolre furrowed his brow and kept walking.

The fluorescent lights of the small store imposed on Nolre's eyes. He was greeted by the man at the counter, who was busy with a newspaper.
Who was also a badass and had fought in a war with Nolre.
"Hey."
"How's business, Michael?"
"Shit," the man said frankly.
Nolre grinned and wandered through the store.
"Are these eggs any good?"
The man turned a page in his newspaper. "Yeah."

Nolre grabbed a carton and walked back to the counter, reaching over it and processing the transaction himself. Michael didn't move at all, and nodded when Nolre took the correct amount of change and no more from the register.

"Someone's following you."

Nolre looked through the window and saw nothing. His brow furrowed again and he took his eggs, wishing the man a good night. In response, the clerk spat on the floor and murmured to himself.

"Fucking Maple Leafs...."

Nolre once again walked the dark streets, heading home quickly. He passed the shadowy alleyway again and saw the figure. When Nolre turned, a reflection of light sped towards his gut.

Stepping back, he dodged the switchblade and nearly dropped the carton of eggs. The man leaped out of the alley and made to slash again but missed, and Nolre stepped into his range. He shoved a shoulder into the man's sternum, pushing him back into the darkness. Nolre kicked the knife out of the man's hand and delivered a strong headbutt to his nose, pushing him up against the wall. With the eggs in one hand, Nolre ground his elbow into the man's throat, pinning him.

"Do you see these? I JUST BOUGHT THESE FUCKING EGGS!!"
"I-I'm sorry!"
"Who do you work for?!"
"Nigga, I'm in my own business and you're pushing on my-"
Nolre delivered a swift knee to the man's gut, grinding his throat even more.
"DON'T GIVE ME THAT SHIT. You're too good with a blade and you're not dressed like a drug dealer. NOW WHO DO YOU WORK FOR?!"
"I d-don't know, man! He never told me his name!"
"What does he look like," Nolre demanded.
"Uh-Uh, uhm, he-"
"Uhm isn't an adjective, motherfucker!!"
"Uh-well, see-"
"PERSON, PLACE, OR THING, MOTHERFUCKER. PERSON, PLACE, OR THING!!"
"I never met him in person! None of us have!"
"Us?!"
The man shook his head.
"They'll kill me, man. Please, just let me go."
Nolre looked deep into the man's eyes. They begged for mercy.
"You know.. where I come from, people like you don't get second chances."
"..Compton?"
"HELL, MOTHERFUCKER. DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT I AM?!"
"Please don't yell at me!"
Nolre pushed the man away and kicked him in the back.
"Get the fuck out of here! You're pathetic!"

The man stumbled out of the alleyway and retreated as fast as he could. Nolre watched him go and then picked up the knife, dropping it immediately when he felt how scathing hot it was.

White wax covered the blade.

Nolre frowned, imagining the unbearable agony he almost suffered at the hands of the weapon before continuing home. The sun was coming up and the morning air was beginning to warm up. When he opened the door, the household was stirring. He gave Delial a look that said "We really need to talk," and then addressed everyone.

"How do you guys like your eggs?"

?Nolre?s a succubus!? Del exclaimed when Bobby inquired as to the man's race.
?Jesus,? he muttered, lifting a hand to pinch the bridge of his nose.
?Wait, that?s not right, is it?? she thought on it. He was about to suggest that she'd meant incubus when she apparently decided it didn't matter, shrugging and turning to him, letting out a cry. ?Bobby, your eye is gone! Here,? she said firmly, holding out her hand to reveal a human eyeball. ?I made you a new one.?
"Oh, that's okay. Actually, I-"
"Welcome to the chill zone," Delial suddenly said to the girl who had returned with Nolre. "It's where we chillax.. that's chill and relax... all at the same time....." Jessy laughed.
"God damn, how strong was that shit?"
"And that's Delial. Everyone, this is Jessy." Nolre introduced her to them. Delial nodded, Del was too busy enjoying her bowl of cereal, and Bobby gave an unenthusiastic wave.
"Hi."

After a moment or so Nolre made to slip away, and Jessy followed after him. Delial still seemed to be pretty zoned out.

"You all right there, man?" Bobby inquired.
"Super."
"Uh-huh." When the man got up to head back into the living area Bobby followed. "Will Del be all right in there by herself?"
"Yeah, she's got the cereal," he said, taking a seat.

Only a moment later she came in after them and wandered around for a while, then disappeared in the same direction Nolre had. Bobby glanced at the clock across the room. It was getting pretty late, and he certainly felt tired. While debating whether he should go to sleep or try and stay up to search around the place some more his body answered for him and he dozed off.

In the darkness Mr. Swan appeared before him, smiling. A series of visions of strange creatures flowed through his head, some changing into one another or splitting apart and morphing into other beasts as they did so. Everything seemed hazy and he forgot most of it. The most prominent thing in his memory was the fire that everything had eventually engulfed everything and faded out as he opened his eye, the first beams of sunlight creeping across his face and waking him.

He squinted as the light caught his eye and lifted an arm up to shield it, sitting up on the sofa where he'd fallen asleep. Delial was no longer beside him, however Del was, curled up in a little ball with her arms around her legs.

Bobby climbed to his feet slowly so as not to wake her, stretching and looking around. It was still fairly early, and it appeared the sun was only just rising. He pulled the throw from the back of the settee down over Del, and was about to head off in search of Delial when the man came in from the kitchen. Then he heard the door open and Nolre wandered in as well.

"How do you guys like your eggs?"
"Cooked. I don't mind the details. Whatever's easiest."
"In a banana wagon!" Del suddenly cried, and Bobby turned to see that she'd woken up abruptly.
"Awesome. Banana wagon it is," Nolre said, heading off to the kitchen.

Delial followed immediately and Bobby turned to Del.

"You all right?"
"Mhm. I like eggs," she said sleepily.

Bobby turned to head off after Nolre and Delial, Del close behind. He sat up on the counter to one side, it appeared he may have interrupted a conversation just about to occur between the two men, but he didn't think much of it.

"So, you're an incubus, huh? Awesome. I've heard you guys have either extremely large or cold dicks. If not both. How's that workin' out for ya?"
Del giggled. "You're talking about penises."
"Sure am."
"Um..." They all turned to see Jessy standing in the doorway. "Good morning?"
"'Sup?" He turned back to Nolre who was preparing the eggs. "So, as I was saying, about your dick..."

Del dreamed of a large field with tall grass. Down at the foot of the hill, rested a small, quiet, pleasant sort of village. Del was sitting in the grass, feeling the blades between her toes and her long, voluminous hair tumbling down over her shoulders and arms. She was sitting next to someone. His face was foggy, but she could recall his laughter clearly. He made her feel happy.

The dream started to fade as well as any memory of it, when Del felt something soft and warm being wrapped around her. Only half conscious, she lifting his arms to pull the blanket around her tighter. She became fully awake when she head the sound of the apartment door opening. She opened her eyes and saw Nolre speaking to the other two males, asking them how they?d like their eggs.

?In a banana wagon!? she cried, causing them to turn to her in surprise.
"Awesome. Banana wagon it is," Nolre said, heading off to the kitchen.

Delial followed immediately and Del climbed off the sofa, rubbing her eyes as she headed to the kitchen. Bobby turned to her as she approached..

"You all right?"
"Mhm. I like eggs," she said sleepily.

Bobby turned to head off after Nolre and Delial, Del close behind. He sat up on the counter to one side. Del watched him for a long moment, and then decided to mimic him. She used Delial for leverage.

"So, you're an incubus, huh?? Bobby asked Nolre. ?Awesome.

While Nolre spoke with Bobby, Del found the apple they had used the previous evening. She took the tinfoil off the top and then lifted it, opening her mouth to take a bit of it when Delial snatched from her.

?Don?t eat that,? he said, dropping the apple into the trash.
?I want more cereal herbs.?
?They?re not?oh forget it. You can?t have anymore.?
?Why?? she demanded, folding her arms.
?Because it will make you start to look like Swan.?
Del?s eyes widened. ?Ew, I don?t want to look like him.?
?Exactly.?

Del was overjoyed that Nolre had actually carved a little canal in a banana and filled it with scrambled eggs. It didn?t taste very good and she didn?t eat more than a bite, but that didn?t mean she didn?t absolutely adore it.

After they?d all eaten, Nolre instructed Delial to take Del and Bobby to headquarters. The latter had to meet with Swan about his post with the institution, while Del had to take her medication, as well as change her clothes. Delial made a few lewd gestures about Jessy and Nolre, before ushering Bobby and Del out of the apartment.

When they arrived at HQ, in the main lobby, Delial told Bobby to hang back while he took Del to the medical and research floor to meet with her doctor. Del was instantly opposed to this.

?No,? she stated firmly. ?I want to stay with Bobby.?
?You?ll see Bobby later. Come on.? He went to take her hand and guide her toward the elevator, but she snatched it back.
?I want to stay with Bobby,? she repeated more sternly.
Delial sighed heavily. ?You?re already late. You don?t want to start forgetting everything, do you? C?mon, stop being a pain.?

She scurried behind Bobby, turning her head defiantly from Delial?s direction. The young of the two males had a suggestion.

?Why don?t I just go with her while she gets her meds? Then swing by Swan?s after.?
?Yes, I like that idea,? Del piped up.
?Fine,? Delial groaned. ?Let?s just go before she starts calling us Andrew.?
?Andrew??
?He?s an Adaro I met yesterday.?

When they arrived at Medical and Research, Delial asked the receptionist to summon Del?s doctor. Del amused herself while waiting by creating multicoloured frogs and watching Bobby try to tramp on them before they could hop to safety.

?Delirium,? they heard and turned to see Doctor Stanford walking toward them. ?How are we feeling today??
?Don?t call me that,? she snapped. ?I don?t like that name.?
?Certainly,? he replied disinterestedly, before turning to Bobby and Delial. ?A new face??
?His name is Bobby,? Del chimed. ?He?s my best friend.?
?I thought Delial was your best friend.?
?Delial?s my other best friend. And Nolre. And Stanley. And Sergio. And the juice lady. And Dionysus. And??
?Yes, well,? the doctor interrupted, ?let?s get things underway then, shall we??
?Okay,? she sighed.

She turned and smiled weakly at Bobby and Delial. It was probably for the closest thing to genuine sadness Bobby had yet to witness from her. She followed behind the doctor, who led her into the room they were standing next to. It had a large glass window so people could see inside and observe whatever the scientists did. Del waved to Bobby and Delial, before hopping up on the steel table.

The doctor walked over to her, holding the needle in his hand. He reached up and pulled the collar of her shirt down a bit, rubbing the alcohol over her neck. Del hated everything about this procedure. It was necessary for her to receive injections every two days to keep what little memory she had, or she would forget things much more quickly. But she hated being touched so much and the doctor always had to put his hands on her shoulder and neck. She hated needles. It hurt and it was uncomfortable. She hated the drowsiness and sickness in her stomach that lingered for about an hour afterward. The entire ordeal was absolutely dreadful.

After he pulled the needle back out of her neck, he placed a little cotton swab there to catch the blood, taping it in place. He gave her a glass of water and then the two of them walked back out to meet the two men waiting for her.

?All done. And no fuss this time,? the doctor added patronizingly.
?I don?t feel very good??
?Um?what the fuck did you just do to her?? Bobby wondered aloud, crudely as ever.
The doctor raised an eyebrow at him. ?A chemical injection that helps jog her memory. If we were allowed to experiment on her physiology further, we might be able to develop something that could completely restore her lucidity, but?certain parties object to this.?
?In other words, Nolre won?t let them cut her open,? Delial simplified. ?C?mon, Del.?
She nodded and took his hand, keeping her other wrapped around her stomach. ?I think I want to lie down,? she said quietly.

"So, you're an incubus, huh?? Bobby asked Nolre. ?Awesome.
Nolre didn't take his eyes away from the eggs.
"It's as big as I want it," he said simply.
"Or," he continued, glancing at Jessy, "I can make it as big as other people want it."
She blushed and Nolre winked, making it worse. He handed her his eggs and carved a banana into a wagon, scooping eggs into it. After he served Bobby and Delial, he washed the pan and put it back where he got it.

"You're not going to eat?," Jessy asked.
"No need to. You guys should head out," he said to Delial, Del, and Bobby, "Bobby needs to get to Orientation, too."

Delial made lewd gestures about Nolre and Jessy before ushering the other two out. When the door closed, Nolre turned back to Jessy.

"Sorry about that. Do you need a ride home?"

The two of them made small talk as they walked to his car, and Jessy told Nolre a little bit about herself while they drove. When she had finished talking, her apartments came into view.

"So what got you to work for.. Hocus and Pocus, was it?"

Nolre narrowed his eyes and recalled the literal climb out of Hell.

"That's a story I'll never tell," he said in a flat tone. "We're here. Be safe, Juice Lady."

He watched her walk away for a few moments before rolling down his window and shouting after her.

"I liked you better without pants," he yelled, and then drove away. into the sunset

Nolre didn't take his eyes away from the eggs as he answered.
"It's as big as I want it," he said simply.
"Or," he continued, glancing at Jessy, "I can make it as big as other people want it."
She blushed and Nolre winked, making it worse.
"That has to be the single greatest ability ever," Bobbly said. "Just...ever."

He began handing the eggs out and everyone but him ate.

"You're not going to eat?," Jessy asked.
"No need to. You guys should head out," he said to Delial, Del, and Bobby, "Bobby needs to get to Orientation, too."

Delial made lewd gestures about Nolre and Jessy before ushering
Bobby and Del out of the apartment.

"I can't believe a motherfucker can change the size of his dick," he mused. "I mean that's seriously the greatest ability ever."

When they arrived at HQ, in the main lobby, Bobby looked around. It looked just like any other office building, aside from a rather eerie air about it. But then that could be said to exist in every office. So could the feel of depression and suicidal tendencies. So really, it seemed pretty average. That was until some extremely dangerous looking demon-like creature strolled by wearing a suit with some files tucked under his arm and a cup of coffee in his hand.

Bobby turned his head to watch the man - he assumed it was male - as he walked by, then looked to Delial.

"I take it not just anybody can walk into this place with er...non-humans all over the place."
"That's why I had to show ID and tell them who you were."
"When'd you do that?"
"While you were watching that drunken homeless man stumbling across the street and rooting for a car to hit him with Del."
"Oh...oh yeah."
"You really don't like the homeless, huh?"
"They're easy targets," he shrugged. "Nobody notices if they go missing, unless enough go missing, but even then nobody really cares."
"You should hang back here while I take Del to see the doctor."

The younger of the two males had a suggestion.

Del amused herself while waiting by creating multicoloured frogs, and Bobby tried to step on them and squash them before they could hop to safety. He was amused to see that they had different coloured blood as well.

?Delirium,? they heard and turned to see some doctor walking toward them.
"Delirium?"
?How are we feeling today??
?Don?t call me that,? she snapped. ?I don?t like that name.?
"Oh. Del...yeah."
?Certainly,? he replied disinterestedly, before turning to Bobby and Delial. ?A new face??
?His name is Bobby,? Del chimed.
"'Sup, Doc?"

It was probably for the closest thing to genuine sadness Bobby had yet to witness from her, and it was highly depressing. As she followed behind the doctor, Bobby coughed the word "asshole".

The doctor led her into the room they were standing next to. It had a large glass window so people could see inside and observe whatever the scientists did. Del waved to Bobby and Delial, before hopping up on the steel table. Bobby waved back, as did Delial.

"Can they hear us through there?"
"Not unless we hit the button."
"In that case. He's such a dick."
"That's how it goes."
"How easy is it to replace these guys?"
"You should probably wait until you're officially employed to kill one. That way you're less liable then."
"Cool."

The doctor walked over to her, holding the needle in his hand. He reached up and pulled the collar of her shirt down a bit, rubbing the alcohol over her neck.

Bobby remained behind for a moment. "Hey, Doc. You're a shit-eating cocksucker. And I wanna cut you. Bad. Know what happens when I wanna cut things? Bad?" The doctor's eyes simply widened. He opened his mouth to speak and immediately was cut off by the boy. "I cut them. Also bad." He lifted a finger to his eye and pointed to it, then the doctor, raising his eyebrows and lowering his voice. "I'm watching you." He then turned and walked out after the others.

Delial continued to lead the way to Mr. Swan's office, not bothering to knock as they entered and leading Del to one of the chairs to sit down.

"Ahh, Mister Flay," Swan said without turning around from where he stood behind his desk, his back facing them. "You made it. Excellent. Some of the others are gathered downstairs, awaiting Orientation. Let me take you to them," he said, finally turning with a grin.
"Can't wait. I am practically shіtting blood with anticipation, Swanny."
His grin faded. "Mister Swan."
"Y' ain't my boss, yet. And when you are, I will still show you no respect. And then I can get away with it because...I'm so lovable?"
Swan sighed. "Just...follow me, will you."
"Sure thing, Swanny." He sighed again and lead the way, Delial and Del following behind them as Del didn't wish to leave Bobby's side.

As they got downstairs he took them to a room where a group of more new employees sat around. Some Bobby recognised and some he didn't, but then he hadn't been paying too much attention to the other guests on the yacht, so it wouldn't have surprised him if they were all from the "test" night before. They were an odd bunch, and yet as he headed in and they turned to see who was entering the room, for the most part they gave him strange if not dirty looks.

"'Sup freaks?" he lifted a hand in a greeting. "My name's Bobby and I'm a paedonecrophile. In particular, the very young children but very old corpses." They remained silent, some gaining looks of disgust. "Fuсking dead babies? No? Well, y' gotta test the water to make sure. No harm done. Let's get this shіt underway, people."

He clapped his hands together and headed over to take a seat, Del and Delial doing the same at the back of the room.

"All right,"
Swan said, standing at the front of the room in front of the new recruits. "You all already got the speech about what Hocus and Pocus is all about, didn't you? So, let's not waste- Yes, Mister Flay?"
Bobby returned his hand to the desk in front of him, having raised it to get attention. "Yeah, um. Not so much. Wanna run that by me?"
The man smiled widely, showing off a mouthful of sparkling teeth. "Well I'm sure you'll get it as you go, Mister Flay. Now," he turned back to the rest of the people, or whatever they might have been.
"Ugh."
"So, since you're all here I take it this means you have all accepted my offer of a job here? Excellent. Now the only details we have to go over are where you will be working. There are a total of five," he lifted up a hand with all of his fingers and thumb extended, "Departments here at Hocus and Pocus, I will now list them, along with what they deal with."

He lifted a hand to his mouth as he cleared his throat. "The Secrets That Pose Threats Department. This Department deals with Demons, corrupted sorcerers, possessions, violent hauntings and so on. It is for the capturing and or terminating of such threats. As a part of this division you will be expected to carry out missions doing both of these things, either solo or in teams, both that and the type of creature you will be neutralising based upon your personal skills, which will be assessed later on."

"The Secrets That Hold Answers Department. This Department deals with Angels, ancient spirits, artefacts and that sort of thing. As a part of this division you will be researching such beings and items in order to try and find, as the name implies, answers. About anything and everything. After basic training and holding down the position of a new member for a certain length of time you will be able to choose an field of specialisation to work in."

He placed his arms behind his back and began to walk back and forth along the front of the room slowly.

"The Secrets That Must Be Contained. This Department deals with giant Sea Monsters as some of you experienced last night, Griffins, Unicorns, Chimeras etcetera, etcetera. You will be ensuring that these creatures' existence is not revealed to the public, or, if it is, dealing with the repercussions. This particular field is quite vast in your specific job, so if you have an interest you can inquire about it later on to find out bore. I shan't bore those of you who are not interested with the details, now."

"The Secrets That Will Become The Future. This Department deals with weapons research, how to detain and kill various creatures and the like. In this Department you will be doing much the same as in The Secrets That Hold Answers Department, except here, you will be researching not ancient artefacts and Angels, but again as the title implies, a future means to many things. Naturally your research here will help those in other Departments greatly, such as how to contain those things which must be contained, and how to eliminate those things which must be eliminated. Again, the same as The Secrets That Hold Answers Department, you will be ale to specialise in particular areas later on."

He came to a stop in the middle of the room again.

"And finally, The Secrets That Have Corrupted Man." Bobby remembered Del mentioning this one before. This was her area of work. "This Department deals with religion and the finding of religious figures. Magic. Immortality. Anything that man has seen and thought 'I would do anything for that', and then...he has. This field is perhaps the most vast, and least simple to explain in a...succinct manner. So, the same as as I said previously goes for this Department, too; you show an interest, we explain in more detail."

"If, however," he continued, "you are unsure of where it is you wish to work, or where you would be best suited for, then we have an aptitude test which will allow both us and you to learn what Department you truly belong in. It should also be mentioned that you are able to work in more than one Department, should you so wish, however I would recommend starting with just one for now so you don't get in over your head. Now, any questions."

Bobby lifted his hand.

"Yes, Mister Flay?"
"Do we get paid for this crazy ass shіt?"
"Yes."
"Fuсking awesome. And, what about a place to live? A bitch gotta live on the streets 'til he has enough money?"
"For those of you who need it, you will be given a place to stay."
"Awesome. Do y'all pay for that."
"Yes."
"And is it possible I could just like, have a place here or somethin'? I mean, I dunno if you're handing out apartments, or houses, or fuсk off huge mansions and shіt, but if you give me a room with a bed and a crapper if possible, I'm good to go."
Mr. Swan sighed. He was obviously a very calm and cool individual, but Bobby was at the very least annoying him. "Yes, yes, something can be arranged. There are other people you can talk to about this, later."
"Well you didn't say that."
"Did it ever occur to you that perhaps I was about to?"
"...No."
"Well, I was."
"...You should've been faster, we ain't got all day."
"Will you shut up and let the man talk?" a man nearby said irritably.
Bobby turned slowly to face him. "Your mother's a whore, but even she will not shed a tear upon hearing the news of your death."
"For your information, my mother is dead."
"Oh, my bad. Then she's not a whore. She's just a slut."
"Excuse me?"
"You don't get paid for sucking coсks in hell."
"Why you obnoxious little-"
"You bore me, sir," Bobby pulled his backpack off and reached into inside, looking for something.
"You little shіt! I should kill you right he-" the man was cut off by his own screaming as Bobby plunged a knife into his hand, pinning it to the desk. "You- you! You little-!" The boy twisted the knife, pulled it out, then stabbed it back in.
"You don't learn, do you, faggot?"
"Holy shіt, this kid's crazy!" a man with a thick southern accent declared. "Hot damn!"

Bobby pulled the knife back out, wiped it on the man's shirt, then returned it to its sheath in his bag before slinging it back over his shoulder. He turned back to Mr. Swan.

"You were saying?"
"Oh my GOD!" the man he'd stabbed cried. "Jesus, can I get a doctor?!"
"Sure, sure. Head outside and to the right, ask the receptionist to call you one, you'll be fine, sir," Swan instructed, shaking his head.
"But you won't!" he yelled, Bobby assumed at him, he wasn't looking.
"If you mean me, bring it dіckweed. Let's see what you've got and so on and so forth. Now, as you were saying Mister Swan."
"Right, well. Everyone follow me. Anyone who wishes to get more information on the Departments, please remain in the waiting room with the receptionist and your bleeding co-worker. Those who wish to take the aptitude test, continue after me."

Swan walked to the back of the room and everyone got to their feet, following after him. Bobby waited beside Del and Delial before leaving.

"You got any idea where you wanna work?" Delial asked.
"Well, I have some idea, but that aptitude test sounds like a riot. I'd actually like to know what these douchers think I'm good for, to be honest."
"Sure thing, let's get going."
"Don't worry, Bobby," Del said to him. "They say there are no wrong answers to the test, so you can't fail it!" She smiled.
"Oh, I bet I can find a way. Should be fun."

When they exited the waiting room, the man with the bleeding hand glaring after them and shouting curses, they continued out to the main lobby. Nolre was just heading inside and Del called to him enthusiastically, gaining his attention. He walked over and asked what was going on.

"Bobby's going to take the test for the hell of it," Delial informed.
"I think he'll do great!" Del exclaimed. "Don't you, Nolre?"
"Yeah. Wait, you don't know where you wanna go?" he turned to the boy.
"Well, like I said to Delial here, I have...some idea," he smiled. "But this test will be interesting."

Bobby was actually quite intrigued by the test. It had some very interesting questions, and ones that both allowed him to be honest and also possibly give some very "unique" answers.

Afterwards the tests were run through some processing machines or, some crap Bobby didn't really listen to, and he, along with the others who had taken them, were called in. Each had someone to go over the results with.

"Bobby Flay," a middle-aged man, balding man with glasses called and he headed over and took a seat in front of him.
"That'd be me."
"Right, well... It seems you, didn't exactly...take this test according to..."
"I just wrote my own shіt in there for answers, yeah."
"Including on answers that did not allow for you to do it."
"Yeah."

There was a silence in which the man looked expectantly at him, waiting for him to say more. When he realised this wouldn't happen, he cleared his throat and continued.

"So, we had to mark the majority by hand. Thankfully it was only yours that needed such...attention. Now, I needed to ask you about a couple of these answers. First of all, for question three you answered,"
he adjusted his glasses and looked at the paper he held in front of himself. "'Well, under the circumstances I don't think any of these answers are what I would do, so to make sure this is as accurate as possible, I will give my own. I'd say I would cut a bitch up a bit, show that n*gga who's boss and then see if he wants to fuсk wit' me again. If so, then we tango, at which point-' it just goes on like this," the man looked up.
"What's the issue? Can't you pick a category for it?"
"No, it's just that...well...it has nothing to do with the question."
"It doesn't? Well, shіt. Let me see that bitch," he leaned over and pulled the paper around to look at the question under scrutiny. "Oh...ohhh. In that case, C."
"Excellent," the man said, marking it on the paper. "Now this one here. I don't believe this is physically possible," he showed the paper to the boy.
"Oh. Lemme see...no, no I've done that. Totally."
"All...right," he said sceptically, marking something down again.

It continued like that for a while, until eventually he had everything calculated.

"Well then, Mister Flay. I believe the correct Department for you would be The Secrets That Pose Threats."
"Oh, sweet."
"You can er...go now."
"Sure thing."

He stood and walked back outside to where Del was impatiently rocking back and forth on the floor, her arms holding her legs to her chest, making noises of boredom.

"Hey," Bobby said.
"Bobbyyy!" she cried, leaping to her feet and running over. "Did you have fun!? How was it!? Did you win!?"
"I don't think you can really win, but-"
"Wait, one second, I have a question."
"Go ahead."
"Where were you?" He paused for a moment as she stared at him expectantly.
"I was taking the aptitude test."
"Ohh, now I remember."
"Yup."
"How'd you do?" Nolre asked as he and Delial walked over.
"You were the last to come out, I think," the latter said.
"Yeah, well, my answers took a little more than the usual processing. I got the Secrets That Pose Threats Department."
"Wheeee!" Del clapped her hands together excitedly.
"Fuсking called it," Nolre said.

After Bobby’s aptitude test, Del was overjoyed he’d be working in the department she occasionally did work with. Doing work with Bobby would certainly not be like work at all, but rather quite fun. Though work was usually fun for her, or if not, she made it so. Usually.

Nolre wanted to get Bobby registered so he could get a quarters in the facility, but Del told them she had to first go to her room and change her clothes and she refused to leave Bobby's side. Because it was easier than having to deal with her being angry, they relented and she happily skipped toward her own room. The sickness from the shot was beginning to fade, as was her memory of it ever having happened.

When they arrived in her room, Del started to fumble in her pocket for the cardkey. She pulled out various things she’d found in her time between now and her last visit to her room. Things she couldn’t remember collecting and no longer cared to keep. There was a watch that went backwards, a doll head that was missing an eye, a pair of extremely thick lense glasses and tangled slinky. When she finally found her cardkey, she squealed and swiped it, causing the automatic door to open.

When inside, Del grinned widely and turned to see Bobby’s reaction. The room was about the size of a dorm room. It had a small bathroom with a shower, but that was it. The main room where her bed and dresser was had pictures plastered all over the walls, all created by her. There were many collages of nonsensical pictures, such as Mona Lisa’s head glued to the body of a butterfly, or a pyramid with legs and arms, holding a lollipop in one hand. There were drawings, too. A lot of them were extremely childish and amateur, all with her handing hands with someone else like Nolre or Eve, as well as creatures and places. Some drawings, however, were remarkably beautiful and realistic. There were drawings of fields and people who Del no longer remembered. It was quite a collection.

Among her art work, there were colourful scarves and wraps that hung in corners. She had a trapeze that hung in the middle of the room that was adjustable in height. Her bed had no covers or pillows, but many stuffed animals. She had personally taken them all apart and put them together again so their parts were all mismatched. Sometimes she loved this place more than anywhere else. But then, sometimes she hated it.

“Well?” she cried. “What do you think?”
Bobby raised his eyebrows. “It’s…something. Did you draw these?”
“Um…”
“Yes,” Delial confirmed. “She doesn’t remember doing most of it though.”
“Delial tells me I’m a very good artist when I want to be. But I think he’s wrong because I always want to be and sometimes I’m not.”
“Hurry up and get changed,” Nolre concluded, exiting the room, followed by the other males.

Del smiled happily and skipped toward her closet. She knew she would go through ever outfit only to pick the first one she chose. So she chose the last one first so that she could wear it and save herself the hassle. It was simply a purple and yellow chequered skirt that went just below her knees, as well as the typical fishnet leotard. After changing, however, she forgot that she was being waited on and became distracted by her trapeze. She pulled herself onto it and hung down from her knees, waving her arms and swinging back and forth.

“Wheee!” she cried.
There was then a knocking on her door. “Are you done yet?” Nolre called.
“Done what?” she answered. “Wheee!”

The door was pushed open and the three of them looked in, Bobby wearing an amused smile. Del grinned when she saw him.

“Bobby! You came back!”
“He didn’t lea—”
“Sure did,” the boy interrupted.
“We’re going to get Bobby checked into a place now. Do you want to come?”
“Yes.”
“Come on then.”
“Nolre?”
“Yes?”
“Are you frustrated with me?”
“No. Why?”
“Because I want to ask a question and you don’t answer very nicely when you’re frustrated.”
“I’m not frustrated. What is it?”
“What’s the word for the precise moment when you realize you’ve actually forgotten what it’s like to make love to somebody you really liked a long time ago?”
“There isn’t one.”
“Oh. I thought there might be.”
“No. Shall we go?”
“Okay!”

She swung her torso back up and then hopped off the trapeze, skipping over to Bobby and grabbing onto his arm. She looked up at him and grinned.

The next morning Jessy awoke to find that everyone in the house was already up and wandering. It seemed as though she was the last to wake. She awkwardly entered the kitchen where Nolre was making everyone eggs. One of his creations involved a banana, she figured it was for the girl with the funny hair.

The young boy called bobby was ranting about penis sizes and how Nolre was an Incubus? Whatever that is, she thought to herself.

"So, you're an incubus, huh?” Bobby asked Nolre. “Awesome.

She giggled quietly waving to everyone as they left. When the door closed, Nolre turned back to Jessy.

"Sorry about that. Do you need a ride home?"
"Usually, I'd say no. I hate cars... but since I'm not sure where we're at, yes, a ride home would be nice."

The two of them made small talk as they walked to his car, and Jessy told Nolre a little bit about herself while they drove. When she had finished talking, her apartments came into view.

"So what got you to work for.. Hocus and Pocus, was it?" She wasn't sure if he'd answer her question, as she recalled how he ignored the question about his age. He paused for a moment then narrowed his eyes, "That's a story I'll never tell," he said in a flat tone.
"We're here. Be safe, Juice Lady."

She sighed at him, "Thanks for bringing me home and letting me crash at your place. I'll see you sometime?"

He grinned up at her and nodded. She gave him a lazy wave as he pulled away. As she walked to her apartment she heard his voice from behind her once more.

"I liked you better without pants," he yelled, and then drove away.

She giggled to herself as she walked up the stairs. She was relieved when she realized Jack wouldn't be home at this hour. Her sense of calm disappeared the minute she stepped foot through the door.

"Where the fuck have you been? And don't give me your bullshit, 'I went for midnight coffee,' you hate coffee."
"Jack, calm do-"
"No, you were with that guy, weren't you? The one from the bar."

Jessy scowled at her brother, "So what if I was? You're not going to tell me what to do, Jack. I can take care of myself!"

Jack's face was turning red with rage, he balled his hands into fists and punched the wall closet to him. His heavy fists plunged through to the other side.
"You can't. Not with these people." He walked over to her and grabbed on to her shoulders, "You don't know what you're getting yourself into. These people are no good, Jessy. Just trust me, please."
Breaking free of his hold she shouted back at him, "Why should I trust you? I've lived with you for some time now and I still know nothing about you. You're my brother and I barely know where you go half the time. You never even told me why you left home! Mom and dad were always harder on me, because you left at such a young age."
"Jessy, I don't have the time or energy to go into all this. Just do what I say."
"No, I will not... and if you keep pushing the subject I'll leave..."

Jack sighed as he fell back on the couch and rested his head in his hands. He rose from where he was sitting and made his way past Jessy and into the kitchen. He searched through the cabinets until he found the bottle he was looking for. He poured himself a cup of Black Label. Jessy looked up at him worried. Jack rarely ever drank, so it was quite odd for Jessy to watch as he downed the cup of liquor before him. He poured himself another.

"If you're going to hang around this... guy. I need you to tell me his name, and I want to meet him."

Jessy froze as she heard the words coming out of Jack's mouth. This had never happened. Jack was never interested in who Jessy even dated, and now he wanted to meet a guy she had only just met?

"Just once, then I'll leave it alone."

She narrowed her eyes and bit down on her bottom lip. "I... I don't know. Can I have some time to think it over?"
"Sure..." he finished his drink, "On one condition."
"What's that?"
"You're not to see him until you've made your decision about whether I can meet him or not."

She pouted up at him, "Fine, I only need tonight to decide anyway."
"Fair enough."
"Will you be home when I get home from work?"
"Yeah..." he walked back to the couch, "I'll do you one better, I'll pick you up. What time do you get off?"
"I'm closing so it'll be a little past 2."
"Alright, I'll see you then. I'm going to sleep now."

Jessy walked back into her room. Why was Jack so obsessed with Nolre and what he did? She couldn't figure it out. Of course it was strange that there were monsters and other pretend things running around in the world, but what did Jack have to do with that? How did he even know about them, and why does he despise them so deeply? She pondered all of this as she entered the shower and began to wash her body.

She dreaded the thought of work, but figured it would be kind of nice to be out of the house and away from Jack. She finished up in the shower and got dressed for work. She wore some old cut off jean shorts, with a big loose black T-shirt. She put on her sandals and made her way to the door.

"Leaving?"

She nearly jumped as she heard Jack.
"Jesus Christ, Jack! You looked like you were passed out in a coma, then you suddenly speak."
"I didn't mean to startle you," he ran his fingers through his hair.
"It's fine, and yes, I'm off."

She opened the door and waved goodbye to him.
"Wait..."
"What is it?" He could sense the annoyance in her voice.
"Let me take you..." He offered.
"Jack, come on. I can walk."
"I have to pick up some things from the store anyway, come on, I'll take you."

She gave him an irritated look before agreeing. They both made their way down the stairs and to the car. Neither of them spoke a word once inside the car. Finally arriving at the bar, Jessy was ready to jump out.
"Remember our deal," called Jack. She threw up her arm and formed the O.K sign with her hand as she disappeared into the bar.

"YA EARLY!" Her smelly boss called from behind the counter.
"There is no pleasing anyone now a days."

After Bobby?s aptitude test, Nolre wanted to get him registered so he could get a quarters in the facility, but Del told them she had to first go to her room and change her clothes and she refused to leave Bobby's side. Because it was easier than having to deal with her being angry, they relented and she happily skipped toward her own room.

When they arrived in her room, Del started to fumble in her pocket for the cardkey. She pulled out various things including a watch, a doll head that was missing an eye, a pair of extremely thick lense glasses and tangled slinky before she finally found her cardkey. She squealed and swiped it, causing the automatic door to open.

When inside, Del grinned widely and turned to see Bobby?s reaction. The room was about the size of a dorm room. It had a small bathroom with a shower, but that was it. The main room where her bed and dresser was had pictures plastered all over the walls. There were many collages of nonsensical pictures, and there were drawings, too. A lot of them were extremely childish and amateur, all with her holding hands with someone else like Nolre or some people he didn't recognise, as well as creatures and places. Some drawings, however, were remarkably beautiful and realistic.

"Whoa..." he said quietly.

Among her art work, there were colourful scarves and wraps that hung in corners. She had a trapeze that hung in the middle of the room that was adjustable in height. Her bed had no covers or pillows, but many stuffed animals with mismatched parts.

?Well?? she cried. ?What do you think??
Bobby raised his eyebrows. ?It?s?something. Did you draw these??
?Um??
?Yes,? Delial confirmed. ?She doesn?t remember doing most of it though.?
?Delial tells me I?m a very good artist when I want to be. But I think he?s wrong because I always want to be and sometimes I?m not.?
?Hurry up and get changed,? Nolre concluded, exiting the room, followed by Delial. Bobby wandered out after him and stood to one side.

After a moment of silence, thinking about what he'd just seen, he finally asked. "So...what happened to her? To make her like this, I mean."
"Short version: she lost her mind. Happens to the best of us, kid," Nolre informed.
"And the long version?"
"Classified," he said simply.
"Uh-huh."

He looked off to one side, wondering what on earth could make a person like that. Or whatever Del was. That in itself could explain a few things. Before he had a chance to ask, however, they heard her crying out from inside her room.

?Wheee!?
Nolre knocked at the door. ?Are you done yet??
?Done what?? she answered. ?Wheee!?

He pushed it open and the three of them looked in, Bobby wearing an amused smile. Del grinned when she saw him.

?Bobby! You came back!?
?He didn?t lea??
?Sure did,? the boy interrupted.
?We?re going to get Bobby checked into a place now. Do you want to come??
?Yes.?
?Come on then.?
?Nolre??
?Yes??
?Are you frustrated with me??
?No. Why??
?Because I want to ask a question and you don?t answer very nicely when you?re frustrated.?
?I?m not frustrated. What is it??
?What?s the word for the precise moment when you realize you?ve actually forgotten what it?s like to make love to somebody you really liked a long time ago??
?There isn?t one.?
?Oh. I thought there might be.?
?No. Shall we go??
?Okay!?

She swung her torso back up and then hopped off the trapeze, skipping over to Bobby and grabbing onto his arm. She looked up at him and grinned. He smiled and shook his head.

He mostly sat to one side with Del and Delial while Nolre talked to someone about registering him. All he had to really do himself was sign some papers, which he did without hesitation. He was pretty sure that if he ever wanted to get out of whatever he'd signed, he'd either find a way or stop caring about it eventually, so it wasn't a big deal.

"Right, that all looks fine. Okay, you should head on in for a physical, then a, er, psych evaluation."
"This is because of my answers to the test before, isn't it?"
"Sir, I assure you, it's routine," the woman said in a very unenthusiastic, monotone voice. "Just head on in to see the doctor."
"Whatever."

Nolre once again lead the way and pointed him to the door.

"Del, you gotta stay here, Bobby has to get naked."
"Aww," she whined, but relented and took a seat.
"Sweet, haven't even worked here a day and someone gets to see my junk."
"Yeah, it's pretty fucking awesome," Nolre said.

Bobby headed through the door and saw a tired looking man sitting behind a desk.

"Mister Flay, I presume?"
"Yup."
"All right, come along. Let's get this over with."
"Wow, maybe you should prescribe yourself some anti-depressants there, Doc."
"Trust me, I have."
"Super. So er, are you gonna give me a prostate exam as well?"
"Do you...think you need one?" the man raised an eyebrow.
"No."
"Then no."
"That's a shame, 'cause I was gonna make that joke about how you should at least buy me dinner first. Then I was gonna punch you in the balls and make damn sure you didn't put your fingers up my ass. I'm a seventeen-year-old boy, dude, if there's a problem with my prostate I'd probably know it. Like...jizzing ants or...some shit, I don't know."

The doctor paused for a moment, just looking at him. "Mister Flay, please, just...remove your clothes."
"You could at least buy me dinner first." The man sighed heavily and Bobby smiled. "Classic."

After he'd undressed he walked out and took a seat on one of the chairs in front of the desk, definitely not intended for people to sit on while naked.

"You didn't have to remove your underwear, son."
"I heard different."
"Ugh. All right, let's see here. Do you...think you could sit up on the table over there?"
"Looks cold."
"You can put your underwear back on."
"I'd rather not."
"Good Lord."
"So do you deal with freaky non-human...things, as well then?"
"Yes, I do."
"Killer. Anything that has like, spiked genitals? Several balls, maybe? Somethin' good."
"There are plenty, I assure you."
"Really?"
"Yes."
"Wow. You must have a great time."
"Yes," he said much less enthusiastically, not that he had been the picture of it beforehand.

Bobby got up and sat on the table as the man walked over to it, realising it wasn't really a question the doctor had been looking for an answer to when he suggested he sit up on it.

"My ass in frozen. I hope you're happy."
"So, when did you lose the eye, Mister Flay?"
"Whaddya mean? It's right here," he pointed to the eye not under a patch. The doctor's expression remained unchanged. "Ha, I'm just messin' with you, I know what you mean."
"So?"
"So what?"
"When did you lose it?" he repeated irritably.
"Didn't," Bobby flipped the patch up to reveal a perfectly healthy eye underneath.*
"I see. Right, well. Let's get this show on the road."

Afterwards Bobby got dressed again and came out to sit on a chair as the doctor went over the chart he'd made notes on.

"So, what's the verdict? Is it AIDS, Doc?"
"You're perfectly healthy for your species, Mister Flay."
"Whoa...that's kinda creepy."
"As I said, I deal with many. It becomes habit."
"Uh-huh."
"You will need to visit Doctor Jones for a psych evaluation."
"Super. Thanks."
"Good day, Mister Flay."
"See ya, Doc."

He headed out. "It's all clear. And I didn't need a prostate exam, so," he gave a double thumbs-up. "Said I need to see some Doctor Jones for a psych evaluation."
"Sure, follow me," Nolre said and once again lead the way to the correct room.
"You know, you guys don't have to come with me everywhere. Not that I don't appreciate it. Just...I figured you would wanna be doing other things."
"Nooo, I wanna be with youuu," Del said, clinging to his arm.
"And as long as Del's with you, so're we," Delial said.
"Okay."
"Can I go in with Bobby this time, Nolre?" she pleaded. "Pleeeeease?"
"I'm sure she'd be okay, I don't mind."
"Sure, if you're okay with it."
"Yaaaaay!"

And so Del accompanied Bobby in to see Doctor Jones, who asked him a variety of questions, the answers of which made him either surprised, concerned or even downright disturbed by the look of it. It made Bobby feel proud to freak the guy out after all the things he had to have heard working at Hocus and Pocus.

"By the way, Doc, is that picture one of those ink blots that you see images of things in? 'Cause if so, I'm gettin' a duck." The picture was in fact just a picture of a rubber duck.
"Yaaay, duckies!" Del cried, summoning up a group of multicoloured rubber ducks that swam around in mid-air, quacking.
"I...think that's all, Mister Flay. For now, at least," he said, raising his eyebrows.
"Awesome. So am I crazy?"
"You are...fine to be working."
"Nice dodge, there."
"You're free to leave."
"Thanks," Bobby stood and walked out, Del and her conjured rubber ducks following.

"So, are you nuts?" Nolre asked as they returned to the waiting room.
"No too much to be working, apparently. So...what now?" he asked, watching as Del walked behind the incubus, one of her ducks landing on his head.

~

{{*I had this planned from the start, fuckahz.}}

?I like duckies,? Del said as they walked down the hallway.
?Now I have **** to do,? Nolre replied. ?They should have an room prepared for you by the night. Here?s your ID and you?re your cardkey.? He handed Bobby some things while Del stacked the tulpa ducks on his head. ?And try not to kill anyone until you?ve clocked some decent field time.?
?Gotcha.?
?I?ve clocked lots of field time, haven?t I, Nolre??
?Yup.?
?I like clocks,? she said, and as she mused on the subject, the docks transformed into quacking clocks with beaks and feathers. ?They never forget things. Except sometimes they do, like my clock.? She pulled the watch out of her pocket. ?It goes backward, which is why I like it, because even when I forget to tell time, it doesn?t matter because this doesn?t tell the right time anyway.?
?It?s right at least twice a day,? Delial pointed out.
Del narrowed her eyes at him. ?I?m right more than twice a day, so there.?
?I?m going to get a dri??
?I wanna come, too!? Del cried.
?Sounds good to me.?
?Delial, you go with them.?
?I have things to do, too.?
?What do you have to do?? Nolre asked suspiciously.
?I don?t need to go with someone,? Del protested.
?You aren?t allowed out alone.?
?I won?t be alone. I?ll be with Bobby.?

Nolre looked thoughtfully between the two of them. He seemed rather conflicted, but eventually sighed and pulled a pen and paper from his pocket.

?This is my number,? he said as he wrote it down. ?Call me if anything happens. If you lose sight of her for a second, call me immediately. Got it??
?Sounds good,? Bobby replied, taking the number from him.
?Del,? Nolre spoke, looking to her. ?You know the rules. If you break them, I?ll be angry. You don?t want me to be angry, right??
She shook her head. ?No. When you?re angry, you?re mean and your nose is scrunchy like this,? she said, causing her face to contort into a replica of Nolre?s with a furious expression.
?So you?ll be good and stay close to Bobby.?
?Yes,? she sang with a grin.
?I?m going to regret this,? he thought aloud.

When they were outside, Del skipped alongside Bobby. She was now wearing his eye-patch, as he had give nit to her at her request while exiting HQ. She was wearing the patch across her forehead and singing while Bobby walked toward a parking lot.

?Where are we going?? Del wondered.
?To get a ride.?
?You have a car!??
?I will in a few minutes.?

When they arrived in the parking lot, Bobby scoped around to check where the security cameras were. Del followed behind him, tilting her head to the side. She watched as they headed to a corner where a fairly nice blue convertible was parked. Bobby rubbed his hands together before he got to work on picking the lock. Del hopped up on the hood of the car, swinging her legs back and forth. When Bobby got inside, he started hotwiring it. As the engine started up and the lights came on, Del squealed happily and hopped off, going in the passenger side.

?Where do you wanna go?? he asked.
?Um, I don?t know. Everywhere.?
?Where do you wanna start??
?Umm?here??
?Great. We?re here. Now where do you wanna go.?
?Uhhhhmmmmm?? She leaned her head against the window and looked toward him. ?Somewhere that?s not here??
?Alrighty,? he agreed.

As he pulled out of the parking lot, Del got an idea.

?Oh, let?s go see the juice lady!? she proposed.
?Cool.?

Bobby sped down the road, ignoring signs and red lights. Del lifted her arms up excitedly, crying out for him to go faster, which he did. They?d hit two homeless men and heard countless cars swerving behind them, Eventually the police caught up to them and Bobby groaned as he looked in the rear view mirror.

?Balls,? he exclaimed, pulling alongside the road.
?I like balls,? Del said with a grin.
Bobby laughed. ?Y?do, huh??
?Yes, especially bouncy ones.?

The police officer walked up to the side of the car, tapping his pen on the door to demonstrate authority.

?Do you mind, officer?? Bobby spoke, sudden sporting a British accent. ?I just had her refinished.?
?You and the little Missis are gonna have to step out of the car, sir.?
?We?re on our way to see he juice lady. Do you know her??
?Sir, I said step out of the??
?Excuse me, is your name Andrew??
The officer blinked a few times and then seemed to lose his patience. ?Alright, that?s it.?

He went to pull the car door open himself when Bobby pulled a knife out of his pocket and stabbed it into the man?s hand. He screamed and stumbled backward. Del giggled as she watched him screaming after them.

?He was very funny.?
?Total riot,? Bobby agreed, pulling over into a gravel lot. ?C?mon, the bar?s just down the street.?
?Okay!?

They both hopped out of the car as they heard the police sirens following them. Bobby grabbed onto Del?s arm and the two of them bolted off away from the vehicle. Del was laughing up a storm, wondering why on Earth they were running so fast, but enjoying it at the same time. Eventually she forgot what they were running from to begin with, as they approached the bar.

Bobby panted as he opened the door and Del giggled while stepping inside.

?That was fun!? she cried.
?Yeah, just make sure you don?t tell Nolre.?
?Why? I bet he?d have fun going fast, too!?
?Maybe, but probably not when you?re involved.?
?Why? I absolutely love going fast.?
?Some people are just cunts.?

When they were inside and Del spotted Jessy, her face lit up and she rushed over, smacking her hands down onto the table and grinning widely at her.

?Juice lady!? she exclaimed. ?Do you remember me? I?m Del and you gave me juice. And this is Bobby and he?s my best friend and we just went really, really fast and then we didn?t go as fast, but still faster than normal and then we got here! Do you like to go fast??
?Hello to you, too,? the girl finally managed to get a word in.
?Two Buds, please,? Bobby said as he hopped up on the barstool.
?Draft or bottle??
?Draft.?
?I like bottles.?
?One draft, one bottle,? he corrected.
?Comin? up.?

Del dropped her head and arms onto the bar, making little mushrooms grow and die and decompose in front of her as Jessy got them their drinks. When Del took a sip of hers she immediately spat it out.

?Yech!? she cried in disgust.
?Not a Bud fan, huh??
?I don?t blame you,? Jessy chuckled. ?Why don?t I mix you up something tasty??
?Yes, please, this is absolutely revolting.?
?But oh so cheap,? Bobby added before taking a large gulp.

Jessy put together a rather colourful drink. Del?s face brightened as she watched it being prepared with layer upon layer of colour. When it was handed to her, she grinned widely and marvelled at it.

?Wow! Look at all the colours! Bobby, isn?t it absolutely wonderful!??
?Yeah, chick drinks are pretty good.?
?I bet it tastes like summertime and giggles.?

She took a sip and was delighted at the fruity flavour. She started to drink it much faster, despite Jessy cautioning her to take it easy. She quickly demanded another and Bobby told her to go for it, saying he?d be paying. After three drinks, Del noticed she started to feel differently.

?Wow, I think the juice lady?s house is rocking back and forth!?
?This isn?t really my hou??
?Oh wow!? Del said suddenly, noticing something. She saw in the back of the bar, one of the man dressed in a leather jacket was taking to another and she noticed them passing along something she recognized. ?Cereal herbs!?

She jumped down from the barstool and rushed over to them, slapping her hands down on the table and grinning at he man she?d seen taking the herbs. They both looked between her and each other, not sure what to make of the situation. The one she was looking at kept glancing at her practically bare chest.

?Give me those, please,? she said, pointing to his pocket.
?Whaddya talkin? about, kid??
?The cereal herbs. I want them. Give them to me, please.?
?Look, fuck off, will you?? the other man snapped.
Del scowled at him. ?That?s a bad word. Only Bobby?s allowed to say bad words.?
The other reached out and pushed on her shoulder. ?Just back off, bitch, or you?ll get yourself hurt.?
?I didn?t know this place turned into a titty bar.?
?What tits?? the other man quipped and they both started laughing.

Del on the other hand had a hardened expression. Bobby had already walked up behind her with his switchblade in hand, while Del?s hands were curled into fists.

?I wasn?t very nice,? she said quietly. ?You should say you?re sorry.?
?Wat part of fuck off don?t you understand??

He stood up threateningly and Bobby was about to strike and Jessy was calling one of the bouncers, when Del caused body a tulpa to grow around her body. It made it appear as if she were morph into a beastly version of herself, with scales and long, sharp teeth. Her eyes looked like they had been shot out, like the Levianthan. Both the man recoiled in fear.

?Say. You?re. Sorry.? Her voice was suddenly deep and ominous and it echoed throughout the entire bar.
?I?m-I?m sorry! Jesus Christ!?

In an instant, Del popped the tulpa away and smiled with satisfaction.

?Thank you for saying sorry. It?s nice to have good manners."

Two bouncers walked up behind them, grabbing onto the men and pulling them to their feet, dragging them toward the door.

?She?s a fucking monster!? one of them cried. ?Didn?t you see that!??

Del stared after them blankly. Bobby looked to her, raising his eyebrows.

?You okay?? he asked.
Del turned to him and smiled. ?Yes. I want more colourful juice, please.?

It was a bit of a slow night at the bar, and Jessy was thankful. After all the nonsense Jack had given her and the adventures from the previous night, she needed some down time. A couple old regulars were sitting off to a table on the side and there were a few new faces scattered about. Jessy looked to the front door as it opened, only to reveal Del and Bobby. It was nice to see the strange girl, she was always a joy to have around. She hadn't really spoken to Bobby, but he seemed nuts, in the best way.

Del ran over to the counter excitedly, ?Juice lady!? she exclaimed.
?Comin? up.?

She readied the drinks and slid them over to the two. As soon as Del took a sip of her drink, she contorted her face into disgust and complained.
?Yech!? she cried.
?Not a Bud fan, huh??
?I don?t blame you,? Jessy chuckled. ?Why don?t I mix you up something tasty??
?Yes, please, this is absolutely revolting.?
?But oh so cheap,? Bobby added before taking a large gulp.

Jessy found all the fruity mixers she could and combined them all with a bit of everything. The drink was exploding with colors and she was sure it would taste just like juice. She placed the drink in front of Del and waited for the verdict.

?Wow! Look at all the colours! Bobby, isn?t it absolutely wonderful!??
?Yeah, chick drinks are pretty good.?
?I bet it tastes like summertime and giggles.?

Jessy chuckled. "Summertime and giggles, sounds like a perfect way of describing it."

Del sipped the drink with delight. She started to down the thing a bit too quickly.
"Uhhh... you might want to slow down, Del," she looked to Bobby. "Is she even allowed to drink?"
He shrugged up at the woman, "No one said she couldn't. We're both here, we'll keep an eye out." Jessy bit her lip as she gave him a skeptical look.

Jessy looked to Bobby, confused. "Cereal herbs?"
"Oh boy..."
"What?!"
"She wants the weed." He said, running his hand back through his hair.
"Oh come on! CEREAL HERBS?! REALLY??"
He gave her a half smile and shrugged. Del was already making her way over to the two men.

Jessy couldn't quite hear what she was saying, but the two men looked annoyed. Bobby was making his way over to them, just in case a problem arose. Jessy was keeping a close eye on them as well.

?Wat part of **** off don?t you understand??

Jessy rushed over with the bouncers as they dragged the two men out of her bar.
"Are you okay, Del?"
"Just dandy!" She was beaming.

They all walked back to the counter, "You okay?" asked Bobby.
?Yes. I want more colourful juice, please.?

Jessy looked to Bobby again, then back to Del, "I don't know if that's such a good idea, Del."
Del's smile turned into a pout, "I. WANT. MORE. JUICE." She chanted.

Bobby chuckled as he finished his drink and gestured for another. "Just make her another, so she'll shut up. I'm takin' her home right after this, She'll be fine. Let 'er have a little fun, huh?"

She slid him his drink looking unsure. "While you're at it, you should take a shot or two as well, take that edge of."
As silly as it sounded, Jessy definitely could use a drink or two. "...I don't see the harm in it. I mean it's not too busy and I can handle my liquor."
"That the spirit!" He lifted up his drink, "Cheers!"

Jessy made two more drinks, one for Del and one for herself, both of them colorful and full of fruity tastes.
"Weeeeeeeeeeeee" Del sang, "Rainbow juuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuiiice!"
She mused a rainbow over her with her hands as she sipped her drink quickly. Jessy followed the crazy girl's lead and took her drink down rather fast. She wasn't an avid drinker, so it went to her head a lot quicker than she thought it would.

"How're you too feelin', then?" Bobby asked, with a grin on his face
"I feel like tingles and electricity, and I can smell all the colors in the world!" Del clapped her hands together.
"I'm fiiiine. I'm just gonna go ahead, go ahead, go ahead and make myself another."

Bobby laughed as Jessy made the lot another round of drinks. They all clinked their cups together screaming random things.
"To drunk chicks!"
"Yeaaaah duck chinks!"
"APLASTA!"

Del spun around in her stool. Bobby stood up and stretched while Del almost toppled over. It was nearing 1:30am.

"Ya can start closin' down shop, Jess."
Jessy looked around to find the bar empty. Del, Bobby, and her were the only ones drinking. She handed Bobby his last drink and instead of making more 'juice' she poured her and Del two shots.

"Okay, Del, this is like medicine. You have to take it really fast. It's the last bit I have left. It'll make you... make you strong like a..." Jessy pondered for a moment.
"Uhhh, like a unicorn."
"I LOVE UNICORNS!"
"YA! So on three, you down that sucker, and I'll do this one, this one right here, I'm going to do it too, okay?" Jessy pointed at the little shot glass that sat in front of her.

"Bobby. Bobby. Bobby... Bobbyyyyy"
"What is it, drunkie?"
"You, you count down, okay? GO CAPT'N"

Bobby downed his on drink and put both hands in the air. Jessy and Del both brought the shots near their faces, awaiting the countdown.

"Ooooooooooooone... twooooooo.... thr-"
The two girls downed their poison before Bobby even got to three. Del hit the floor almost instantly, and popped right back up within seconds.
"I AM AS STRONGGG AS A UNIHORN!"

Bobby laughed loudly as Jessy staggered to the other side of the counter, joining the two.
"Letss get ouuut of this place, guyzz"
Bobby led the way out as Del and Jessy skipped merrily behind him, holding hands. Both of them were singing different songs, and neither of them made any sense.

They got to the car and Jessy jumped in the backseat. Del was getting herself situated in the front, when Jessy chimed in.
"HEy! Hey, sit back here with me, I don't wanna be all by my loooonesome."
"Awwwww, Okay! I'll come back ov-" she jumped over the seat "er there."

Del plopped down next to Jessy and smiled. They both looked out the window where Bobby was having a cigarette.
"He sh-sh-should hurry and get in here."
"Yes! He'll go faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaast again. I love when he goes fast!"

Jessy laughed and ruffled Del's hair, "You're like a cute little squirrel!"
Del giggled, and almost sounded like one. They both laughed and swayed from side to side.

"Hey... Hey... Hey, Del."
"Yes?!"
"Do you... okay.. okay do you think Bobby's hot? Like, do you... okay do you like him?"
"Of course! I adore Bobby, he's my best friend! But I don't know if he's hot. He seems cool to me. It's nighttime anyway, it's not too hot out, is it? He should be fine. Is he on fire or something? Oh my god!" Del wore a big smile on her face.
"N-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-no no no no no." Jessy cleared her throat and tried her best not to slur her words. "Do you... do you... okay, do you like him like him. You know liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiike him."

{{Yeah so this is what happens when I don't really know where I'm going with a post. But Cory made me so yeah. -awesomeface-}}

As it turned out, Nolre had shit to do, and so told Delial to go alone with Bobby and Del. However Delial also had shit to do, so eventually it was decided Del would stay with just Bobby, who had to call Nolre if she went missing for even a second.

After deciding to go and get a drink, they stole a car, ran down some hobos, stabbed a police officer and ran into the bar from the night before. All very hilarious and another rather average night for Bobby, minus the unusual company that Del was.

After getting rather drunk and impressing Bobby with her ability to scare the living fuck out of a couple of guys that decided to mess with her, Del returned to her colourful fruity drinks, and the two of them managed to get Jessy, who was again tending bar, to join them in doing so.

It didn't take long for the two girls to get drunk in Jessy's case, and even more drunk in Del's, and after that it was closing time, so they all headed out to the car park where Bobby proceeded to steal another car.

He let the girls get settled as he had a cigarette and looked around. He noticed a guy not too far away near the docks and walked over, taking out his knife. As he got closer the man looked up, and as he saw the knife in the boy's hand his expression changed to one of fear.

Before he could say a word Bobby had stabbed him in the stomach, holding his cigarette with his free hand and exhaling smoke into the wind. He pulled the blade out and stabbed a couple more times before kicking the guy backwards into the water, watching as the blood dyed it red and the bubbles slowly disappeared.

He flicked the knife to get the blood off and then strolled back to the car, finishing his cigarette and dropping the butt to the floor as he got in.

"What're you gals talkin' about?" he asked.
"Ohh, nothin'," Jessy said. "Where were you, anyway?"
"Oh, keepin' busy. Let's see what Nolre and Delial are up to."

Bobby treated the girls to a very speedy journey back to the Hocus and Pocus headquarters, managing to hit a couple of pedestrians along the way and swerving into the middle of the car park, blocking the passage out.

He helped Del and Jessy get out of the vehicle as they both swayed a little when trying to get back to their feet, the speed they'd just been travelling at probably not helping the effects of the alcohol they'd ingested. Still, they both seemed happy and nobody had thrown up yet, so it was all good.

When they got inside Bobby took them back to Del's room as it was easier than trying to find his own for the first time. Upon arriving he sent a message to let Nolre know they'd returned. Del was introducing Jessy to her cuddly toys. The incubus arrived shortly afterwards, Delial along with him.

"Oh, hey, how'd things go?"
"What the fuck?"
"Yeah, they were pretty good for us."
"It's almost two in the morning and she's drunk...and Jessy's here."
"Are you complaining?"
He paused for a moment. "You could've given me a heads up that she was drunk."
"Or that Jessy was here," Delial said. "And also drunk."
"Yeah, well...they're having fun, and nobody puked yet."

Suddenly the noise of vomiting reached their ears from the bathroom.

"Oh."
"My sick looks like rainbows! Does that mean I'm a unicorn now?"
Del called.
"Well, it's still not the worst night I've had with her."
"So yeah, you get to have Jessy sleep over again." Delial elbowed Nolre and made some obscene gestures, making him elbow him back. "Um. She's allowed to be here, right?"
"Jessy can sleep over, yay!" Del sang before stumbling onto her bed.
"As long as she's with Nolre it probably won't be a problem. And I'm sure she'll be with Nolre."
"Shut up," he said simply, though he didn't seem too bothered by it.
"I still have to find my room. And probably eat something. Do they have room service here? A cafeteria? I could go for lobster."
