How did you find out about the site? What made you join? What made you stay?



I’ve came cross this site back in August of 2021. That was the year I was trying to figure out my sexuality. I was still confused on what I wanted to be but I knew what I was into. My purpose was to look for chats that were for lesbians or people that were on the same boat as me. Basically looking to chat with people that were gay, bi, and or lesbian. I wanted to know their story so I can explain mine and figure out my sexuality. I was confused my whole childhood, until I went to high school and finally admitted to myself “ Girl you know damn well you like women too just as much as much as you like men 🤣 “ loll so now I classify myself as bi and I’ve met some good gay people, trans, and straight along my way up until now. 😊 so the question is simple, how did you find out about the site? What made you join? What made you stay?

Honestly I Googled 'Gay Chat' I always knew I was Gay.
from about age 4 I just knew.
And I never hid it or tried to never officially came out cos it honestly just never felt needed I am Gay that's that.
I found this site and it's helped when I have needed it at times.
It's good for little conversations but I wouldn't say anything to be taken to seriously or to consume to much time on.
Some nice people here also some not so nice.
But overall Forums is where I am (I don't use rooms)
And like it this way.
I joined to talk to people when honestly I have had a pretty lonely upbringing not made alot of friends.
stayed the time i have because of a certain person I met and they have made a huge impact on my life I'm grateful for that.
Overall the place is good without the trolls and just having a good easy going laugh when time permits.

Very interesting topic...I discovered chat ave not too long when it was started..lol..I just became a teenager and was looking to make some online friends..I gravitated to Girls Chat. Little did I realize that it would be one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I made some amazing friends some of which we're still friends today. I became a mod three times because I hated people who violated the rules and guidelines of chat and I became an expert (almost) at identifying them..and I wanted girls chat to be a place where people could chat and have fun without worrying about getting hit on. Even today I'm still a part of that community..although life prevents me from visiting as much as I'd like to..

I first joined in 2020 during the first lockdown (yes I know, I was underage at the time) after searching for a teen chat site. I started off in Teen Chat and stayed until the guest and bot problem got out of hand. I Joined Kids Chat in 2022 which I found a much better fit for me. I tried Girls Chat at that time as well but found it a bit too adulty lol. I applied to be mod in January 2023 (I wanted to help make a difference in the room) and was hired and here I am in 2024.

I found chat ave in my teenage years, about a century ago. lol. Started out in vid chat. Got kind of tired of getting my eyeballs poked out. Moved to gen chat. Became aware that it was possible to speak with people from all over the world in real time, which I enjoy. Very much. Have met a ton of wonderful people. Have met a whole flotilla of douche canoes too. Still enjoying the banter though. Cheers to all the good ones.

Yep. I blame COVID too. With the extended lockdowns here in QLD under Anastasia Palachook (Palaszczuk), even with my lovely books and school work, I needed more.

Sooooo, I ended up falling down a warren of rabbit holes, then a wormhole or two, and ended up in this alternate universe of chat chaos.

I did the same I used to attend another chat which died a slow death and moved onto the old classic general chat which then merged with this general. I have met some fantastic people from all over the world and enjoy the banter from them, I have seen this site change in so many ways both backward and forward over the years and I feel general is a small community of folks who want to engage and feel part of some world even for a short period is why I keep coming back. On a sidenote this site has taught me tollerance, acceptance and patience even if at times I havent wanted them.

I'm an introvert and it's difficult for me to talk to people, so online chat sites have been a way for me to meet new people. I came across chat avenue while trying to look for different chat sites to try. I've been to several of the chat avenue rooms, but none are as good as the General Chat. In my opinion, don't go to the adult chat unless you're ready to meet all the people looking to sext and have a good time. I've been there and don't ever want to go back to that hell hole.

To everyone that's in the US: I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and ate lots!

I was doing a number 2 on the toilet and bumped my phone and this page came up.

Found the .net site from this vid.

That then lead to here somehow, think maybe a link in the room description thingy.

And it was around covid time, and I had nothing going on (plus, ending up a mod after just a couple months)
