The problem is, we have ghost guns and people with connections who never obtain them legally. A lot of the guns circulating have also been used in a homicide and have bodies on them (kill count) and have the serial numbers scratched off. It's easier to solve the shootings that involve lunatics who legally purchase them than gang related violence which have existed long before these mass shootings.Banning and confiscating though… cant have a mass shooting without something to shoot
There's no reason someone who was deemed mentally unfit to serve to be given a gun. In nearly every mass shooting, there is a history of things that could have been used to bar anyone from owning a gun legally.
When you say "mass shootings" you're talking about someone with a gun with the attempt to shoot and kill random people and kill but people like Serenity will bring up gang violence which is completely different. A gang rolls up on a rival and opens fire, they may injur innocent people or kill them but that's not their intent. As bad as that is, they didn't obtain the guns legally. People like Serenity like to deflect and use whataboutism to silence the need for gun reform and its like when people bring up other races around the World who have been enslaved to tell descendants of African American slaves that "hey man, it's happened to my people too.".
