I have a trash cat.

last night, my Pepper kitty was found eating bits of leftover food from dinner in the drain net in the sink. one problem is, a lot of soap washed through those pieces of food. she's licked pans left on the stove in the past, but I didn't think she'd stoop this low. she also climbs on trash cans and sniffs to see what's in there. I've got a trash cat.

she was a stray, probably dumped off by people who didn't want her, and she found her way here, and I took her in.

Question: do you feed it? o.o

why of course! and it's the good stuff too.

All of my 3 cats are stray cats. They eat everything, rice and fish bones, but I love them with all my heart.I feed them cat food but they still like their "old diet".I think it will take time for them to get used to the new diet. I suggest you mix the cat food with some fish meat, they love it.

Code:

I do that for the outside cats but I've never thought about doing that for inside cats, I'll give that a shot. they'd loveee tuna and cat food mixed!

I used to have a cat named Bootsie. She was a stray we took in. She was quite the hunter... My mom eventually got used to her coming inside the house with something dead in her mouth like a bird or rabbit and plopping it in her food bowl casually. And yeah, she ate out of the trash sometimes too. Cats that aren't 100% born and raised in a house will retain old habits for the rest of their lives.

I have no idea how old she was when we got her, she's stayed the same size. I guess she was older than we thought she was. When she does manage to escape to the outside, she always catches something, usually birds (which is a shame because I'm quite fond of birds.)

I agree with this one. One time, one of my cats went out for the night, he came back in the morning and there was blood and feathers all over the place. Turns out he ate all the chicks of our neighbors:uhoh:

awwww 🙁 one time Pepper escaped at night, then that morning I went out on the porch and there were feathers and blood everywhereee. I can't complain though, she also took down a mouse in my room once.
