So I just graduated from college, and I plan on giving the GRE to pursue a Masters degree. I was originally supposed to give the exam in Aug. So I started studying in June, then July came about and I slowly started procrastinating. It's now the 5th of Sept. Still haven't given the GRE. I've given a couple of mock tests and I'm getting around 318-320. But I'm hoping to get 330+ to compensate for my lower gpa (2.9/4).

I need help. I'm wasting my time going through random threads on ******, sleeping, just eating junk food, reading novels. Basically anything that's not related to the GRE. Feels like there's some mental block that's preventing me from focuing on stuff or is it an excuse I've just come up with. At this point, I'm a mess and I want the motivation to just get up, study and pass the exam in flying colors

Also, I've started becoming fat. I keep thinking of going to the gym. But again deadbeat and no motivation to fix myself

To rectify, the first priority is that I need to do good on my GRE. Any help/advice will be appreciated.

Me too, guys, education is so stressful, I swear to God :dontknow:
Lately I needed to do an essay about my dream work, but F, I don’t know what I dreamed about, maybe I just want to get through this year

Yes it happens

Yes it happens

It's natural and it's common to everybody but there is one powerful quote by Bruce Lee that drives me to my goal that is “If you spend too much time thinking about a thing, you’ll never get it done. Make at least one definite move daily toward your goal.” I also find very hard to do workout when i return from work because i do web design for a company and there you have to think a lot to create logics, so i would suggest you to lead a life like a robot do it without thinking anything.

  • Step 1. Identify the habit:
    • Develop a gym habit, ******* I’ll workout five days a week.
  • Step 2. Identify your CUE:
    • Every habit has a trigger, identify one that regularly works for you.
    • I’ll set my alarm to wake me up at 6 am every morning so that I can exercise before work.
  • Step 3. Identify the REWARD:
    • What reward will you give yourself at the end of the behavior/habit. The reward can be anything, the key is the craving.
    • Delicious protein shake, sense of accomplishment, endorphin rush.
  • Step 4. Execute the ROUTINE:
    • The routine is the actual activity/behavior you want to become a habit.
    • Drive to the gym and exercise.
  • Step 5. Write it down, make it happen:
    • The simplest and most effective way to form a new habit is to write a plan. Use the following formula to write yours:
      • When ________,cue I will ________routine because it provides me with ________reward.
      • When my alarm clock goes off at 6 am, cue I will jump out of bed and drive straight to the gym to exercise for 60 minutes routine because it provides me with a healthy lifestyle, a fit physique, and an energetic start to my day reward.

My fast essay service

Hi everyone,

I'm so tired being weak and unable to make myself stop procrastinating... Playing games, looking out of the window, playing with my cat... That's all I can do...
Please give me some ideas. To-do lists and planners do not work for me.

If you try Mindfulness it could possibly help. It really helped me You have to buy in the philosophy and learn awareness and acceptance. But don't pay me no mind I only help people like you for a career. This is free advise. Take it you ain't going to get much of value for free anymore.

Junk food likely wont help. Might make your blood sugar weird and tire you out-and you could mistake that for procrastination.

If you smoke dope, that is known to cause procrastination-even in younger smokers. And baby steps. Focus on one small thing to do, and do it. Dont get overwhelmed. And dont reward yourself with a dime bag and 2kg chops.

you do realize your saying someone with my name hast used weed right 😆 but you do make a good point- the strain of pot is really important whether it causes procrastination. Also, it takes a lot of years for men to go all couch potatoe with weed is what ive seen....

Well the key for me has been employing Mindfulness and that is what helped improved my motivation and decrease my procrastination. IF the thought of doing something is making me anxious I will just go ahead and do it so I will not be anxious anymore. Since using it my hair has turned less gray. Oh quite right you know I am just getting the Puffenstuff reference I always thought the Sid and Marty Croft zany television series which I get probably was much more enjoyable when high.

I had the same problem, but I try to do and learn things all the time. This resource perfectial was very helpful to me. I think you will enjoy it as well.

Once I came across the same situation and couldn't change it. But you should understand nothing can change without effort. If you want to live a better life, just start doing something. I quit my job and started an online business. It helped me to move on and get rid of this apathy. Speaking about business, are there any business owners here? I would like to discuss some promotion ways. For example, I discovered that email marketing is a brilliant tool for my business, it's still effective. By the way, this app is my latest find https://emailindetail.com/view-emails

The plan of tackling procrastination:

1) Plan a time to tackle your task at hand, and stick to it. If you fail to plan, you will plan to fail.
2) When tackling a task at hand, remove any temptation that can lead you to procrastinate more
3) Start that task at hand, and give yourself regular breaks. These breaks should be about 10 mins.
4) Drink water when doing tasks. Hydration fights procrastination
5) If you need to research, filter out sites that may lead you to procrastinate to other sites. Even apply a filter.
6) When task at hand is finished, reward yourself. You have earned it

Think of it as being independent and supporting yourself. Responsibility. Not necessarily "going above and beyond" or being a major success, whatever you perceive that to be. Some just need the motivation to do what others consider basic, like, going to work or cleaning the house, or paying the bills.
