Can someone explain how the ignore feature works?

Can I tell if someone has selected to ignore me?

Can I ignore users in the main chat room, stop seeing their repeating posts?

Putting someone in ignore will block them from messaging you and you won’t see their posts. They may not recognize they’re in ignore while talking in main chat. They might think you’re just mental ignoring them. When they go to message you something will pop up for them saying you can’t contact this user.

Hi, you can ignore other users, they are not aware you are doing so.
They will not be able to contact you privately but will still see your posts on room walls. You will not see theirs even if you are tagged by them.
You will need to re ignore every few weeks, it doesn't last forever.

So there is no way to block or prevent seeing people’s posts in the main chat room, even if they are constant repeats?
 
Not permanently. Unless you re add them to the block list like Jen stated. And guest accounts wipe from the system after a while so you have to always put them on ignore.
