does anyone have any good suggestions?
What's helped me is realizing expecting motivation before action is putting the cart before the horse in terms of what I've learned about psychology, and it's better to prioritize what's doable and to let the good feelings come with completing a goal after. Then just build this up like a muscle.

An overlooked part of having ADHD is actually the emotional regulation part of it, therefore task completion gives short dopamine hits that build to the larger tasks over time because the internal motivation is lacking with a shortage of dopamine.

In short, practice action before motivation.

Perhaps setting a timer for wht you want or need to do. I'd recommend like an hr or so. That's wht i do to focus on my schoolwork. My mom actually told me to do which works. If you've done what you needed or wanted to do in that timer great. My mom lets me take 10-15 min breaks after each hr. Sometimes longer breaks after tests bc i get stressed on them. I hope this helps you.

Have a great day- Goth&Rock

I have work that needs 5 people to be done by 1. Normally I'm good with it. I've just been feeling so tired all the time lately hence lacking focus. Thanks for the genuine tips above - I'll be trying them. 🙂

I struggle with this when I have depressive episodes. I am not sure what exactly you have lost motivation toward...
In my experience, I lose motivation because I feel overwhelmed. As people, we have alot of responsibilities and tasks to complete throughout the day. I find myself thinking of all these tasks at once.
If this is the case for you, I would suggest breaking these tasks into "micro" tasks. Remember: doing one small thing is a lot better than doing nothing and slowly helps you acheive the goal.
Do not get discouraged if it takes you longer to complete some these activities. We do not always work at 100% and that is okay. (It is okay to not be okay.)
Sometimes you have to force yourself to do these things. I understand that isn't the desirable state to be in, but starting something can help you gain the motivation that you need to finish it. (I experience this with exercise the most.)
I hope this helps you. It may not, but I wish you all the best. It sucks to feel that way.

Receiving that text message announcing a deposit into my account consistently ignites my motivation. It's the moment I eagerly delve into Netspend reviews, contemplating exciting plans for holidays to fresh destinations. The prospect of exploring new places becomes a rewarding incentive linked to those welcome account notifications.
