Insomnia

I don't sleep any longer than 5 1/2 hours any night. It's 5.50am and i've already pegged the washing out and sorted my son's lunch for school, that's how stupid it's getting. I've never been a particularly good sleeper but it's getting worse and starting to affect my mood and energy.

Anyone got any suggestions please?

That's not insomnia.

Yes, it is. Insomnia is the inability to either fall asleep or stay asleep but let's not split hairs. I'm far too tired for that!

Thanks for your suggestions people. 🙂

I'm thinking about trying Nytol to see if something as simple as that could make a difference, although the booze kinda sounds attractive. 😀

Ive had insomnia since I was around 7 years old.
I tried everything
warm milk..not watching tv or playing on the comp in my bedroom..etc etc
I go would go days without sleeping.
or sometimes I would get 4 -5 hours of sleep but that amount of time doesnt actually get you into or past the REM where you're in a deep sleep and wake up refreshed.
Ive tried prescription sleeping pills and finally after all these years I found one I can tolerate...and it doesnt have the "drunk" side affect in the morning.
But I also tried advil pm and that worked too
reading a book when you're laying down helps too.

but if this persist I would ask your doctor about mirtazapine aka remron.
within minutes of taking it you're out for at least 8 hours.

In the week i'm the same regaurding getting lunches ready .. Washing ect ... Us mums are on a time scale 🙂
But I would'nt class myself has having issues ... And I don't sleep many hours in the week but I sure make up for it at the weekends when my son is away.

I take Clonidine HCL 0.2mg each night before bed.. You may look it up and it says for heart and breathing issues but I assure you its also for sleeping 🙄

As jenna said this pill doesnt make you feel drunk it just relaxes you into a nice sleep.

Lucky you, Sunshine. 🙂 I don't catch up and i wake up over and over again all night. I get up as knackered as i went to bed. Grand total of 4 hours last night.

Thanks, Jenna and Catty. 🙂 I had temazepam a few years ago but it gives me a hangover and i stopped taking it, so i'll look into the others.

I have the same problem, I find it hard to sleep at night, sometimes I find myself still awake at 7am and then sleeping for about 3 hours and feeling like crap for the rest of the day.
For a while I was staying awake 38 hours every few days and It wore me out, I was moody, Weak, I Felt sick all the time... I didn't even get that drunk for my 18th, the day I turned Legal, because of the fact I wasn't sleeping and completely messed up my sleeping patterns.

I'm slowly sorting it out now. Monday night and the whole of Tuesday, I stayed awake. When it came to around 10pm tuesday night, I took a Nytol, waited half an hour and I was out for the count.
I ended up waking up at 8am Feeling great.
I don't always take sleeping tablets 'cause I try my best to avoid tablets and stuff, but it got to the point wwhere I needed to.
If you don't want to do that, theres other ways of helping you fall asleep easy; Staying up and being active throughout the whole day will tire you out, Having a hot bath with candles (helps you relax and weakens you that much, you feel you need to sleep), and even though Im not much of a reader, reading a good book will definetly get you to sleep fast. It worked for me.
If you're still having trouble, you should see a GP, they'd help you
😀
Good luck! 😀
xo

cant sleep

cant sleep

i've never been a good sleeper... i can stay awake 3-4 days in a row.. then collapse and sleep for 17 hours straight..ambien doesnt even work, try a warm shower and a cup of chamomile tea before bed..spray lavender spray on your pillow..if that doesnt work.. there is Benedryl which sometimes works for me.. other than that i dont know ...just know you;re not alone in this problem..my whole family is like this ... we;re all high energy people... :dontknow:

🙂 I've been having insomnia problems for years, I wake up four or five times every night and some times I can spend up to two days without any sleep, and when I do, I usually sleep over 8 hours. Been taking Unisom and Night Time Sleep Aid. but they don't do much for meh, and I don't want to take any other strong medicine since I don't wanna become a crack head
And like Lizard, I am very high Energetic :shy: ffs

yeah it;s a pain not being able to sleep... my husband could sleep through a bomb drop... :reallysad so unfair....

Haha, My dad's exactly the same.
My mum though, she can sleep properly, but she'd wake up at the sound of a pin dropping 🙄 It's just not right :reallysad

🙄 If i'm not so that forgetful, i remember one song named insomnia, a nice song...Fortunately i don't have any problem like that, i can sleep even to lunch time!!😉😉

Insomnia is a symptom, not a self-diagnosis or a disease. Insomnia is defined as difficulty initiating or maintaining sleep, or both, despite adequate opportunity and time to sleep, leading to impaired daytime functioning. There are three types of insomnia: transient, acute and chronic.

I had insomnia for about fourteen years, and has been prescribed medications to help the problem. I still can not sleep many nights, but my parents were smart enough to take my laptop so I can use to help me stay awake all night.

What i do that helps is stay up until you just cannot stay up any longer then wait til bed time and sleep you will get a good 8 hours. Then get up early for a few weeks and make your self go to bed. If that dont work keep trying but try doing some kind of work out that wears you out befor bed take a bath relax and then try to sleep.

Hmmm

Hmmm

it wouldnt call that insomania, i dont sleep much ... people with insomania are 'scared' to sleep because they are like skitsoz, once they sleep another person wakes up in them like a skitso 2 in 1, you just need to take some sleeping pills, insomania is not something good to refer to your self 😱k: even im awake at that time :help:

Yes, get yourself more occupied in tasks that involves not only your mind but your body as well i.e. exercise. So that when its time to go to bed you are exhausted and cant wait to fall asleep. Dont get involved in tasks before sleeping that will make you feel awake, like don't watch a show you really enjoy watching that will most likely keep you awake, etc.

If you have tried this or other things and you still see no results consult with your doctor as there might be something that a trained eye can see that we dont.

I use beer also but it hasn't been working lately. I'm ba**z deep in my newest insomnia episode and probably will be for the next couple of months. 😱 I'd do the other you mentioned but I just don't think it's cool for people above the age of 30 or that have kids to smoke that. Otherwise, I'd be a chiefin' muhfugga all day, err day.

Thats not real insomnia if your getting 5 hours a night sleep i had insomnia in the past and once i never slept for a whole week now thats insomnia. 🙄

Maybe nootropics can help you feel better. I think this thing can help cope with insomnia. Nootropics also improve memory well, as well as help to focus better. You can read more about it here. I think this should help.

I would try natural ways of treatment before using nootropics. I know that meditation, yoga, exercises, warm bath, a walk before going to bed can help. Also CBD oil works good. My sister uses it and it helps her to beat insomnia. Speaking about sleeping pills, it is better to ask a doctor first.

I think exercise helps in increasing the quality of sleep. I would suggest doing exercise with a specific plan focus diet too.

Hi) I also had this problem for a long time, but I turned to specialists and they fixed everything for me. I advise everyone to check the ventilation and hoods annually!

Hi. I am very familiar with this problem and have suffered from it for about 3 years. I could not sleep at night, and if I did sleep then for 3-4 hours. I walked like a zombie. I went to the doctor but they didn’t help me. So I decided myself find a solution.I bought zopiclon. This is the site EU Meds where I bought them!Beware of scammers, only this site sells legally!!!

As I know, insomnia is often related to anxiety. Me, for example, I can't fall asleep. In my understanding, that's because my mind feels numb and it just doesn't switch off. I was subscribed meds, but I'm really scared of sides. One of my friend practices yoga, and claims that it can help to cope with insomnia problems. Yanva yoga website states that there are specific asanas and pranayamas that improve sleep. Has anybody tried practicing yoga for sleep improvement? Any feedbacks?

My mom had severe insomnia and it's so awful. She couldn’t sleep at all at night and was very energetic but in the morning and all day she was very exhausted. I decided to help her and read on Canadian pharmacy about various sleeping pills. So I advised her and after 4-5 days she felt much better. She also started doing sports and sometimes could sleep without sleeping pills. Therefore, I advise you not to tolerate this and buy medicine or see a doctor. Good luck to you all!

close ya eyes

Sry i'm late to the party lol. Anyway like @Ludovico said some people sleep 5-6 hrs. I found a few tips that work. Taking either a warm shower or bath before bed helps. The warm water relaxes your body very much. Another idea that i do is sometimes do a small workout before bed or in the evenings and it'll make you tired and you'll sleep well. One last one is to stretch before bed it can relax muscles as well. At first i found it hard bc of my sleep apnea (not sure i spelled right). I hope any of these ideas help you.

I can't sleep well for months. My insomnia was so bad over the years, that it had a terrible influence on my health. I visited a lot of doctors and tried different methods to cure it but nothing helped. I've been taking vitamins from Canada Drugs store, they help me sometimes to sleep a while.

Improving sleep quality often involves adjusting both your daytime and nighttime routines. Here are some tips:

  1. Regular Sleep Schedule: Try to go to bed and wake up at the same time every day, even on weekends. This helps regulate your body's internal clock.
  2. Relaxation Techniques: Before bed, engage in relaxing activities like reading, gentle yoga, or a warm bath.
  3. Limit Screen Time: Reduce exposure to screens (TV, phone, computer) at least an hour before bedtime, as the blue light can disrupt sleep patterns.
  4. Create a Sleep-Inducing Environment: Ensure your bedroom is dark, quiet, and cool. Consider blackout curtains, earplugs, or a white noise machine.
  5. Limit Caffeine and Alcohol: Avoid caffeine and alcohol in the evening as they can interfere with sleep.
  6. Physical Activity: Regular exercise during the day can promote better sleep, but avoid vigorous activity close to bedtime.
  7. Mindful Eating: Avoid heavy meals late at night. A light snack before bed is okay if you're hungry.
  8. Manage Stress: Practice stress management techniques like deep breathing, meditation, or journaling.
  9. Professional Help: If sleep issues persist, consider consulting a healthcare professional or a sleep specialist.
Remember, consistency is key. It might take some time for these changes to reflect in your sleep quality, so be patient and persistent.

My insomnia started the day I got the horrible dining in my ears called tinnitus. I have better and worth days but in general it never goes away. These day I started to research the information about lyric hearing aid and really hope that will be the end of tinnitus issue. Even though my hearing is not that bad, I will probably go for it

Insomnia is a sleep disorder characterized by difficulty falling asleep or frequent awakenings during the night, which prevents individuals from getting restorative rest. This lack of quality sleep can lead to long-term negative effects of insomnia on overall health and well-being.
