Soo I received a 2 hr kick for joking in main with my best friend calling him a “kunt princess”. Thats just how we jokingly greet each other ( like when girls be like hayyy biiitchh hru) but no one got offended, no one reported, no disruption, only used once in a positive context and the chat was all chill vibes. But I respect the rules and know the word is not allowed in main. So no complaints about the kick itself but I thought this is a great opportunity to highlight why “context matters” when it comes to modding.
Does kicking users for using a banned word in a joke context really make the chat safer? Maybe..but let’s talk about it
@Chatmaster If your goal is to have mods who are programmed to blindly kick for banned words without weighing intent or tone, then why even have human mods? AI bots have advanced enough to handle that easily 24/7 for free. You can stop putting the current staff thru the horrors of looking at the disgusting cp reports and save their sanity. Bc what’s the point of human mods if we’re just playing See bad word. Kick. Repeat.
Idk maybe I’m wrong but I thought the whole point of having real human mods is that they can pick up on the nuance between harmful language and an inside jokes between friends. Bc right after I got kicked, my friend hit me up with a screenshot of some 57yo guest asking, “any teen bottoms” and though that’s not explicitly against the rules, but the intent was pretty obvious. It feels inconsistent when one technical gets a hard penalty while pedophilloic innuendo gets to slip by.
Also Im not here to bash the mods bc I know the bs they go thru and it’s tough. But shouldnt the full conversation and intent be reviewed before slapping someone with a 2 hour kick? A simple warning or a quick PM could clear things up, especially in a relaxed chat where no one was feeling targeted.
When I got kicked several people were hella confused on why I got kicked bc we were all having fun and laughing. So If the goal is “SEE BAD WORD. BLINDLY KICK” then maybe AI bots should be in charge. But if thats not the goal, heres what Id suggest:
Mods, please don’t lose your humanity. Rules matter, but context matters more. Before you blindly kick, take a sec to read the conversation and maybe send out a warning or pm if a ban word is not being used in a derogatory way
Apply mod standards equally. If youre kicking someone for using “kunt” in a playful way, then the same rules should apply to the 56yos saying “any bottoms” or the 65yos asking “any 13-14 wanna rp”
I get the word is historically seen as offensive usually when directed at women, but inside a chat room with all boys and used colloquially amongst friends.
Be more transparent. Its starting to feel like mods are getting less accessible. I get you wanna stay invisible because creeps come out when mods are see. online but theres gotta be a middle ground. Why was the staff list removed? Why can’t we search and pm a mod in an emergency or when we’ve used up our 3 report limit?
Note: If my past behavior played into this decision, I get it. But moving forward, can we prioritize fairness and common sense over strict automation? As multiple people without much history have complained about this constantly
Also Not trying to start up drama this isnt a troll post. A bunch of people have had similar complaints, and I thought it was a good moment to speak up and start talking about
