I was the mod in last night who tried to meditate Vs kick. I came in with the purpose of trying to help make peace with eachother Vs kicking which seems like it adds fuel to the fire, i was trying to say to everyone even Michael though a pm that it’s best to let it go and not discuss it at all. In the forum many talk about knowing the ********, knowing the dialect between eachother, feeling like kicks have been to heavy. I apologize you feel let down while i was in there and that lays on me for not kicking. I was doing a lot of behind the scene PMs, tagging to stop in the main room as you probably saw me do. It’s hard to understand just what everyone in this room is asking for because it’s such a wide range of request.
 
@DynamicDylan was an unusual choice of admin for singles chat. They are an ex kids chat & teen chat mod. They weren't active on singles chat before becoming an admin making it so, essentially they were running the room blind folded. To be an effective admin in the room you volunteer for you have to know your userbase. The userbase on teen chat/ kids chat is entirely different than the users singles chat attracts. DynamicDylan was not the appropriate choice for singles chat simply because they come from teen chat and kids chat. They never modded a day on singles chat before admining on there. Experience moderating on the room you volunteer as a mod on is essential. @DynamicDylan can improve if they are more open to finding ways to incorporate users feedback. They've been rumored to say that criticism is a sign of doing a great job. Surely, some users are bullying them but there are lots of users who want them to succeed as an admin but simply don't think they're doing a great job and so they're given constructive feedback on how to get better.

My take is, a 19 year old shouldn't be put in charge of a room where the average user is older than them. Older users are less likely to respect a younger admin because they're chalked off as inexperienced kids. What's more is at that age, someone lacks the life experience that can help them develop the leadership skills that make an effective admin.

Dylan for sure wants to help. They're biting off too much to chew volunteering to admin a room like singles chat and they should speak the Chatmaster about sharing the admin responsibilities with someone else by having a temporary co-admin hired or pass the torch off to someone else. Right now, singles chat is in a state where they need an active admin.

Singles chat has always been a room with lots of drama and toxicity. It's only getting more toxic as time goes on.

Some moderators Dylan choose are problems, they excessively kick others and things often slip past them. They aren't the highest quality of moderators. The thing is, what better alternatives are there? Almost everyone on singles chat is involved in some sort of drama.

Some things need to change, whether that means Dynamic Dylan works on how they admin the room and coach their moderators to improve or a new admin gets hired and they start from scratch. Singles chat needs help. If you use other rooms on here and aren't a problematic user, consider joining singles chat and applying when you meet the requirements.



Note: volunteer as a mod should say volunteer as admin.

I think the collective is they just want fair judgement on kicks, and some common sense in relation to trouble ********, doxxers, and trolls. Trolling is different to everyone, sure - But the fact doxxing is so strong in there and those same ******** doing it are basically going unpunished? Or as mentioned, the paedos in the room being allowed to stay in and not being kicked on sight.

Don't know who this was, but it's actually got some decent points to it. The admin didn't really address anything in his replies in the previous thread. I've been saying all along there's a respect issue that clearly comes from the top of the room hierarchy, and if he paid attention to his room and ********, he'd know he'd made some silly choices in mod hiring. I don't think it's an age thing, I think it's just a lack of knowing how to communicate with a room you've already burned bridges with, and then laughing at, mocking, and stating you don't have the time to deal with it.

Granted there's a lot of drama in the room as of late, but most of that is enhanced by the doxxing etc.

I've said the room has always had trolls and such, but it's never been this bad where there's such a disconnect between mods and ********. Let's not pretend that it's ever been perfect, but @purplerose did a damn good job of trying to make it as balanced as possible and hearing her ******** out whilst still supporting her mod team - That was showing when the only real complaints the room had was from known trolls (sang, revo, RA etc) - This time it's mellow-headed, respectful ******** complaining, too

I don't have an issue with Dylan himself as a person (Although laughing at people when you're being shown up by those same folks is a bit of a shitty move), I do have an issue with a room I used to enjoy visiting becoming such a cess pit 🤷‍♀️

Exactly, and it's rather funny because not only did he used to praise me and asked if I wanted to mod the first week he was made ADMIN, he also said he respected me for taking care of my mother. I returned the favor by asking the people who were harassing not only himself but his mother on FB to stop. I've always said that family should be off limits, as they have nothing to do with the situation. I would have still told people they shouldn't do that regardless, just like I've told people it's f*cked up to post photos of people's kids and family. But he'd rather attack me now because I brought up a problem that'd dipped into hid ability to run the room.

I don't care what he or anyone chooses to do with their life offline, it's none of my business or concern but when it's effecting your duties, I'll say something. There's no reason any mod or ADMIN should be logging on here drunk, telling people they're not dealing with issues because they don't care and just want to unwind and punish their liver. Hes told people multiple times in PMs that he doesnt care about the room and is going to quit. If I was called on my day off to come in and cover for someone but were drinking, I'd just ignore the message and not respond with "Listen sizzle chest. I'm completely hammered and right now, I don't give a sh*t about this job. Go bug someone else, I'm trying to watch re-runs of Whose the Boss." I certainly wouldn't head into work intoxicated while holding a solo cup full of Jameson and ranting. That thread Purplerose mentioned that got deleted was him drunk and trying to defend himself. He's young but he's also a snake and two faced. Expect nothing to happen at all and voicing your concern as nothing more than pissing in the wind.
