Kicked for 120 minutes for JOKING with a friend?

My friend sarcastically asked where I was in the chat, and you can see my reply in the screenshot from the chat. He laughed, and then I got kicked out for 2 hours. I rarely swear, and when I do, it’s with people who I know won't be offended by it.

My question is, why does this warrant a 2-hour kick, when there are peds posting cp links or spam and only get kicked for 5 minutes? Just curious. Also may I know who did this kick? The mod was invisible when I was kicked. THanks

I'm curious to hear the opinions from other mods/admins, @H.R. PufnStuf @Ken_Kaneki @Finn2.0 I understand that rules vary in different rooms and there's limited context beyond what I've already explained, but would you personally issue a 2-hour kick for this?
 
You troll all the time, you're a horrible person. Even if your actions this time didn't merit a kick, you still deserved the 2-hour kick simply because of who you are. You beautiful god-like creature

Rules clearly say mods can kick you for any reason whatsoever even if theyre wrong they have the right to determine if theyre wrong or not and they are not held to any sort of accountability because the rules are literally what they make them.

That's pretty much the full context of what happened. He ask "where is summer[child]" sarcastically, and I said jokingly in all caps what's shown in the screenshot.

I understand, but what ill intent lies behind the phrase, "IM HERE YOU BLIND ****"? There’s nothing sexual, no restricted words, especially since I’m alleging that someone on the staff deleted my account, and now I’m just a demoted guest. Isn’t this just ordinary banter between two users joking around?

If I'm wrong here. Then I'd accept my kick and apologize, but I'd still like to know because I would like to report multiple instances where this happens between users in the room on an hourly basis.
 
there is no ill intent and the mods dont care because all they have to say is i perceived it to be a rule break and that gives them unalienable right to always be right.

Most of the mods I've interacted with in other rooms don't seem to abuse their "I'm always right" privilege. I must admit, even some moderators in Boys chat occasionally show their human side. However, lately it seems like some of the staff on @NorCal's team are fully exercising this so-called unalienable right. Perhaps that's the example he wants to set. Who knows?

Just to clarify, mods have guidelines set against the rules to work with. We don't make the rules up as we go along and will usually err on the side of the user rather than call an infraction. How we deal with a user depends on more than what's just been said, it takes previous behaviour in the room into account as well as general behaviour. If someone who's never said boo to a goose before loses it for some reason then we'll try to defuse that and calm the user down. Sometimes it takes a short mute or kick to do that, sometimes it can be dealt with in a pm. If someone's constantly disrupting the room then a much different approach is taken and they probably will be dealt with without any warning or similar. That's what I meant by full context. It also depends on the rules of the room - they differ between rooms.

Sometimes we do make mistakes, and we'll usually do our best to put those right as soon as we can.

Well said, and I'm inclined to see your point. I agree that this might simply be a misunderstanding or an accidental kick, which is why I haven't blamed anyone yet. I'm still trying to figure out who kicked me! However, it's comforting to hear a moderator acknowledge that they make mistakes and strive to correct them. I appreciate that.

If you were kicked for something you agreed you said, and what you said is in the kick screen then there is no misunderstanding.

As to whether your comment broke any rules, thats already been decided because mods have the unaliebale right to kick people for any reason whatsoever. They can call this perception, judgement, trolling, harassing, "accident", anything really.

The misunderstanding might be that the mod who kicked me could have mistakenly targeted the wrong person. Such errors can happen when there are many reports to handle. After all, mods are human too.
 
An asian man, a white man, and a latino man walk into a bar. They all say well take one fucking pint. The bartender says, two beers coming right up. The latino man says why dont i get a beer. The bartender points to the sign and says we reserve the right to not serve anyone for any reason. The latino man asks whats the reason. The bartender responds, i felt your cussing was excessive and we have a rule against excessive cussing here.

mistakenly targetting you by pasting your own comment in your own kick? A mistake would be pasting someone elses comment in your kick.

By the way they can say its an accident now. Theres no point in arguing. Theyll respond by the time your kick is gone and thus no one is held accountable. Mistake. Problem solved.
