UM also admins a chatroom where as a forum mod is only on forums

The difference is forum mods have green names and only mod a select few forums UMs mod them all hence the name universal mod.

That has zero to do with being a UM - At least in the old forums a regular mod was for certain threads and a UM could mod any thread.
