Leigh appreciation thread

Leigh was always so sweet anytime i said hello to her in general over the last few months, she seems lovely and funny. Shame you’re gone there, maybe you’ll mod elsewhere ❤️

She gives everyone a chance despite the fact this site is notorious for having people who try to influence others on who they should and shouldn't talk to. Leigh would ignore all of that and take people at face value.

Gen chat lost a really good mod, that's for sure. Never has she abused her power or been biased. She wanted to make the room as smooth and safe as possible even when her hands were tied.

We need more people like her I'm charge, but sadly, I've seen too many people on this site with big hearts, great intentions be removed from moderating or even being admin and it seems to often all be based around one issue that leads to the same problem.

time after time u has spent muting & kicking me, & everytime i would argue that i shouldn’t has been, that i dont break any of the rules…

but u know wat babe, i didnt mean any of it, u were totally justified to kick & mute me every single time unlike @Mr. Jose who just does it to bully me; u also unlike every other mod never stepped up to cover for him

i’ll miss u babe 🤧

I can't speak for @TheLeigh's performance as a mod outside of recent events, but my interactions with her through forums speak volumes as to her character. She has been nothing shy of kind, compassionate, genuine, appreciative, humble, dedicated, and about 50 more adjectives I don't have time to list. I am incredibly disappointed with the way things unfolded, but you deserve to be treated with dignity and respect, so there's a small silver lining in there somewhere. I've said it privately but I'll say it here too, any room you'd be interested in modding would be lucky to have you. It can be seen by the overwhelming response you've received what an incredible asset you were to General Chat, and I don't envy them picking up the pieces with your and @rapinoes smirking revenge's departure.

@TheLeigh thank you for all your patience, empathy, diligence and dedication as a moderator and mentor. You’re more than just a colleague, you’re a friend. You were full of energy and enthusiasm for your role, and made me want to be a better version of myself.

I wish I had more time to learn from you and nibble your grey matter for your knowledge.

If you two did not know, the other moderators are taking a very big code of silence on the topic they will not tell anyone who asks why Leigh decided to stop modding... and I guess Rapinoe is intertwined somehow.

I am an investigative journalist of prestige for truth, as we all know, BUT, I completely missed out on everything.

Would either of you mind so terribly as to give me; and others who were not around when this mystery event occurred; context as to what happened.?

It would be nice to have both of your sides of the story, than going into the peanut gallery and getting either lies or distorted interpretations.

If neither of you wants to give any context to those of us who missed out, that is understandable. But be mindful, it becomes frustrating for those of us who want to know and now have to dive into the peanut gallery and sort the truth out.

Tip of the hat for both of you on your volunteering, to keep the chat at a minimum safe for children.

Also ( side note to the peanut gallery if they choose to blab before leigh and rapinoe get to comment ), if this somehow revolves around Samwise; or other moderators, keep in mind this is a public forum, there is no T.O.S about not being allowed to discuss the actions of any moderator. The thing is if one wants to be critical, to do so, without breaking the TOS, aka, use your brain and be mature and not resort to talking like a grade school child.

An now back to your regular schedule kudos to Leigh. Rapinoes already has her own thread, I made it for her, go find it if you want to kiss her ass, this is about Leigh damn it.

Here’s what I’ll say about everything:
I think regardless of what occurred for this to be the outcome, it’s best to focus on the good that still exists on the site and in the room, and to remain respectful of Gen Chat’s Admin and other staff members by letting this one go. 💛

I appreciate you taking your time to post on this. Thank you for being so thoughtful.

Also, @rapinoes smirking revenge’s ass is allowed to be kissed, no matter the thread.

Noted and you absolutely are entitled to take the high road with internet drama with wanting to let it go, because that is all it really is in the end.

Me on the other hand, I am just pissed I missed out on the drama, so, sadly, I must now dive into the peanut gallery and see what I can find out.

Glad to see that whatever the drama was, you are not letting it get you down and that you are over it. ( you know you are over it when ya dont feel like talking about it anymore so that is a good thing. )

You were basically my first friend here, and while we didn’t get to mod together for as long as I’d of liked, I’m so thankful to have had the chance to get to mod with you! Not having chatted much lately, I knew Rapi a bit more than The Leigh.
This is exactly what is wrong with general chat. I do not pretend to know exactly what happened but it played out in open forums. I saw Sam Wise dress down Rapi for what he said was doing mod business in open forums. I know he addressed another mod, I thought it was Chelle but I am guessing it was Leigh. I looked at the offending post and it did not look in the least that Rapi was discussing super secret mod things. Sam Wise ratted both of them out to the chatmaster.

Oh and in that thread Sam Wise openly discussed sensitive mod business. If Leigh and Rapi were removed, Sam Wise should of gotten removed also. Sam Wise is responsible for the negativity in that room. The way he treats his mods. The way he allows and does nothing against pedos and racists.

@Chatmaster I don't know you, I don't care to. You need to get rid of Sam Wise.
General chat needs a fresh start #Rapisvagforadmin.

I would like to say that it has been a pleasure to mod alongside you in General Chat, to get you in the habits of dealing with spammers, handling of drama, and the ins and out of modding. You were quite a keen listener and you did mod very well in that room, giving it 100 percent all of the time. You will be missed, I do hope you have passed on your modding skills to the newer mods in the room.

The "other mod", I have already posted to you in your forum page. Damn, that means I cannot stir you anymore...

Hey, I can absolutely confirm this isn’t true. It’s the lack of solid evidence that usually gets the slimy ones off. Because you know they’d be the sort that would try to sue for defamation. They’re slimy slugs, and their slime trail dries too quickly.

💛 Thank you, Dindu! I’m glad we had the chance to mod together! It was fun when the times would line up. As far as the “passing of skills” go, I’ve been training newbies since the day I was shielded, so I can only hope they’ve retained a thing or two. ☺️

You ask questions, which is something I’ve always admired about you, because you ask for the intent of your own understandings. You are a blessing to that room and to the staff within it, and I can only hope that your value/worth, to either, never dwindle over something as silly as a helpful suggestion.

Gawd knows I rarely visit forums and choose to spend way too much time in Gen Chat instead, but I just wanted to take the time today to thank you for modding the room. Your time and effort didn't go unnoticed, and you've made positive changes to the rules (and room itself) over the years, so thank you! With that said, I've seen this happen time and time again with the previous Gen Chat teams as well, and I know it can sometimes be frustrating to be a moderator. I'm not here to take sides or point out who's right or wrong, that's certainly not my place. I only want to say that disagreements will and often happen, but respect for one another goes a long way from both parties. We must all strive to be more understanding and listen to each other instead of go into defensive mode, which leads people to say things they don't really mean and can't take back.

In any case, I'm not sure if you plan on continuing to use Gen Chat or not, but I don't really want to say goodbye either. The biggest thing I'll remember about you is how you care, even when you don't have to. I went through something tough in my life about a year ago, and you were one of the few people who took the time to reach out to me to see how I was doing. That's admirable to me and something certainly worth mentioning. Also, if you ever visit Gen Chat, we can talk about how much I suck at Call of Duty for old time's sake!
