So there’s a free-to-play game called Warframe and it is, in fact, actually free!

What is Warframe?
Well, Warframe is an mmorpg in which you can play as one of 50+ characters with special abilities. These characters, as you might have guessed, are called Warframes. Some, like the Warframe Volt can shoot lightning and run really fast. Others, like the Warframe Rhino are walking tanks who can shrug of the strongest weapon fire like it’s nothing. Then there are Warframes like Mag and Loki that basically turn any war zone into their own personal playground with their very unique abilities. However, ultimately how each of these Warframes play is entirely up to you.

Create Your Own Playstyle
See, Warframe has this modification system and these modifications can be slotted into your Warframes and the weapons you choose to make them more versatile. If you want to have a shotgun that feels more like sniper riffle that shoots toxic rounds that catch enemies on fire? You’ve got it! You want to have a boomerang that explodes and deals lightning damage that chains to multiple enemies? Done! If you want your Warframe’s abilities to impact a larger area or last longer then these modifications can do that too! The customization is unparalleled when it comes to mods!

Fashionframe
Speaking of customization: with a little time and effort, your Warframes can all look as unique as you are. See, all of the weapons, Warframes, and even your faithful animal companions (yes Warframe has pets and lots of them, too) can be made to look unique via cosmetic shades and accessories you can purchase with Platinum (the game’s premium currency).

Complete Freedom
Okay so remember when I said this game was completely free and that you didn’t have to spend a dime if you didn’t want to? That’s still true. The Platinum O mentioned can be earned via trading after you reach a certain point in the game! What do I mean by trading? War frame has a chat channel, in-game solely dedicated to exchanging Warfrakes, parts, companions, and just about everything else you can earn in-game for Platinum. Also, you don’t have to worry about scammers or people taking your stuff and running so it’s a perfectly safe trading system.

Much More than a Looter-shooter
There’s a lot of different things to do in Warframe so it’s not just shooting and slashing. You could fish, build a dojo, join a dojo, race on a hoverboard, join a syndicate, or even hunt for artifacts. Then, once you’ve down all of that, there’s this thing called The Steel Path.

The End
Anyway, Warframe is available on literally every current gen device that can play video games so if all of this or even some of this sounds appealing to you: feel free to click the link below:

If you do decide to pick it up and you’re not sure where to start here’s a handy video guide:

There’s also this handy wiki you can go to to look up anything if you still have questions after watching the video:

Thanks for reading all of this and I hope to see you out there, Tenno!

but you cant OWN people, just bots big downside.

Isnt this basically Destiny but less cool theyre both f2p
@bread if you’re going to make decisive comments on wholesome threads, please have the decency to do max 2 hrs of research beforehand. Warframe does in fact have PVP and competitions but it’s not a place for the representation of slavery, which is the root of what owning someone in a game or otherwise ultimately stems from. Please don’t post anything remotely racist like that again, okay? I’m asking nicely here. It’s a great game, with a lot to do and it’s worth getting into if you have the time.

I havent played that game since like 2012. At the time it was just a space crawler with "instances", not even a true open world game.

I dont remember there being any pvp only a score (points) based competetition system.

It seems like pay 2 win game. Lots of other games that are f2p and have paid features, but dont actually improve your chances of winning by a large degree.

So i played a few missions on venus and got bored really quickly. All you do is run through the entire instance avoiding all enemies to interact with your objection and on the chance you do need to encounter nemies all that you do is 1 shot them by spamming sword. The guns are effectively useless. I bought a shotgun that takes 3 hits to kill somemone. Theres nothing much to do other than spamrun through the dungeon and collect credits.

You know I could see you getting bored with this game.

That is the type of person you are.

@Awesine_Jason what do you find appealing about this game? Its tunnel based dungeon just hack and slashing all the way through. Destiny is also free 2 play and its a lot more exploratory and customizable. The missions are also better and dont equate to kill everything on x,y,z stage. I guess since youre a tengu (ninja) the sword is your main weapon but it makes the other weapons absolutely obsolete especially when you are always being confronted by hoards of enemies where your biggest advantage is spamming AOE attacks.

Regarding the D2 comparison. $90-$100 per expansion is not F2P. You got to pay for the content then you’ve got to pay for the Season Passe, which by the way, lock a lot of content behind them.

Venus is one of the earlier planets. So having a shotgun that can kill a level 5-10 (or close to that) enemy in three shots is understandable in early game.

One of the reasons I find Warframe so appealing is that unlike Destiny 2, there’s a lot to do beyond just shooting things and all of it helps you progress. Destiny 2 has what? The regular missions/loot chasing, Bounties, Raids, and PvPstuff? That’s it, right?

Warframe has way more stuff to keep you engaged and it’s lore system (a museum-type thing accessed in the late game) is a pretty nice way of organizing the lore for people who want to learn more about their Warframes.

The community is super helpful and non-toxic too!

Also if you want to start over you can either email support folks, or since Warframe is still n everything now, start a game on a device you haven’t played it on yet and then set that one as your primary account on Warframe’s official websites I

How do you change characters I want to start a new game

I have Loki from like 10 years ago
If you want to just switch characters though you’re going to have to put in the effort: find the blueprint for the Warfrane you want to switch to, buy it, then find the boss that drops the blueprint for their parts, and farm him or or her or them until you get all three. Then if you have enough resources to craft all those things and a couple days to spare you’ll have a new Warframe to play with.

The base game is f2p. there is plenty of world without expansions. The game is far more put together. More sandboxy. The weapons combine very well with the superpowers of the characters.

I have had zero use for lokis superpowers. Im currently crating a few mods but not sure what they do. I find the sword and superpowers useless compared to the sword and the only thing ive leveled off it is XP levels.

what is there to do? Maybe i have not explored other planets but so far every landing point has been essentially running through a tunnel and slashing everything in it.

Like what? you cant get down and explore any planet. You are confined to your ship or going into a tunnel to slash everything.

Arguments are stupid. I’m not trying to convince anyone to play anything. I’m inviting people to play. If you don’t want to do that, that’s fine. I’m not offended. Just say you don’t want to play and move on from there. For those of you who do, though, I’d be happy to have you 🙂
