From a psychiatric perspective personal grooming, brushing teeth, clesn hair etc.... is something that is part of a mental health assesment.

It is important to do self grooming, cleanliness is next to godliness. Personal presentation.

Somehow is has become a word of negative affect and stigma.

So they have swapped it to self care. Two words, care being a heavy mental energy word.

Has the media oligarchs, created stress by taking a positive word acticity, personal grooming, the brides groom, groomsmen etc, wedding celebration and ruining its positive semantic power.

Grand mother washes the face of her grandchild and brushes their hair, is she a child groomer?

Could we not find other words that are more effective at identifying such abhorrent behaviour.

Are you going to whine about the use of the word gay next? You're a troll and a moron.
i particular like the streets ice cream golden gaytime. However I dont buy it in the super market because I do not want to lead gay men on, who would be eager to date a handsome suave gentleman like me. Because I am genetically and culrurally psychologically coded a heterosexual.

its total rubbish, makes no sense.

Acticity is meant to be the word grooming.

The debate is about the word grooming.

Psychopaths are known to twist words.

The term “grooming” has become a linguistic and cultural flashpoint, and its shifting meaning can indeed cause confusion, cognitive dissonance, and emotional distress. But not mental illness in a clinical sense.

Misunderstanding or discomfort from word ambiguity does not cause mental illness. But if someone is trauma-sensitive, especially survivors of abuse, the word can trigger emotional distress or flashbacks. If used recklessly or politically it can lead to real psychological harm, stigma or social anxiety.

So while the word doesn’t cause mental illness directly, it can aggravate emotional stress or trauma in vulnerable people
