It really isn't. We baited a trap and along you came. You can't resist trying to spread your own weird and inaccurate version of the truth.

For what it's worth, and I really don't care whether you take it on board or not, I was born in Wester Ross and have lived in Wester Ross all of my life. And Yes, I really was rock climbing in the Cuillins today. We did Hung, Drawn and Quartered on the north wall of Am Basteir. An E3 6A climb not that I expect that to mean anything to you.

If this is the case of a native Gaelic speaker saying something incorrectly (doubt it as native) then looks like it’s misunderstood.

There’s perfect Gaelic and there’s conversational dialect Gaelic.
But by saying that can be applied ti all speakers.

People who speak English don’t speak “fluent official English” they speak English that pertains to their region/dialect etc.

Meh just seems silly. I can speak German. My German is not official fluent German tho so dialogue applies.

Stop arguing.

There's classic gaelic and modern gaelic of course. A good example of his misunderstanding is my use of bodach to @Finn2.0 meaning old man. His interpretation falls back to the old classic gaelic meaning from the days of superstition and supernatural folk. A modern speaker would have picked up on the meaning immediately and anyone who studied the language seriously would have as well. It's amusing really. But aye lol.

Languages are fascinating.

I’m not a Gaelic speaker and I am nowhere educated in languages like Dutchy is.

However I know he will know German and Austrian German are a nightmare especially when it comes to word order in German sentences. 🥲

I wanted to learn French but it gave me a heart attack.

Hence me saying previously about dialect and misinterpreted. It happens I just think it got a bit escalated. And I like drama. 🤣

^ fails to understand the importance of linguistic historical contextualism. “Old classic Gaelic” used in a modern context. Doesn’t get any better than that. It has virtually lost all its meaning in a modern context.
