Look I've been around a long time and I can read between the lines. Its like Karina said once to me rhat chat is like a video game you create an avatar and that's fine as long as you don't use that to take advantage of others. If you sext as a fake and and indulge conversation with minors I'll know and you bet your ass I'll expose you because I really care about those looking for an escape from the BS in real life and looking for a place to just chat. If you come to chat and you pretend to be female especially a teen I'll know believe me and I'll destroy you to protect the real minors?
 
I think this in reference to my views on the topic of people who may or may not be fake or the use of PFPs maybe? I tend to take a look at this from a different perspective due to my real world career. I see more than a face when I look at a person so the use of a photo, avatar, or no type of photo isnt much of a concern as opposed to the content of their character.

Catfishing is obviously wrong and a yucky situation for those involved. So when it happens, cant really say much else than to echo what @Amaisey said. People do come to chat and sort of create a new "them". Online can be an easier way to express themselves in a different manner than what they may be able to, or even allowed to, in the real world. Although to the title of this thread, that in particular is just wrong.
