Mod Quota

You have stated before that you have enough Mods for the General Chat, yet we are not covered 24/7.
Could you not stagger the Mods so we are covered 24/7?

In a perfect world we would not need to have Mods 24/7, but due to the fact that we have all different types of personalities coming into the General Room, it does appear to be necessary. When the Mods are not in the room, unfortunately the conversations do delve into the undesirable side of things , and seeing as 13+ are allowed in the room, it would seem to me, that Mods are indeed needed.

Also, today, a Mod asked a 14 y o child to leave the room.... even though the rules clearly state that 13+ are allowed into the room. It does say, however, that 16+ is recommended. So what exactly is the rule? Or does it depend on the Mod what age is actually allowed? Its very confusing to say the least.

They did suggest that they go to the Teens Room and if i am remembering correctly, they did actually kick them out of the room.
But, thats not my point. They are either allowed there or they are not.. Which is it? If the Mods dont even know... how can a rule be implemented in the correct manner?
I personally dont like the fact that 13+ are allowed in General... but i think i am in the minority there. Just make your mind up about who is actually allowed into the General Room and stick to it.... It doesnt appear to be a very difficult thing to implement to me.... but I havent had the experience of doing it, so maybe i am wrong.

13-16 is Mod's discretion based upon maturity in the chat etc. There are some 14 y/o ******** (if they really are) that behave quite well in chat.

General chat has historically been ages 13+ it has been part of the advertising and draw of the site for a long time. IMO as of the last 3 years at least this entire site shouldnt be available to anyone under 18 yrs old. especially with the lax rules of late of posting of nudes and links to cp.
sad truth is there is a mod limit why there is no one knows . and the fact that almost 80% of those mods are in the USA. however the room cannot be modded 24/7 due to volunteer and life.

I have also been in when there are no mods. It happens. The mods are volunteers not voluntolds.
I understand that they are volunteers. That is not my point or concern. I was told, as were others, that the General Room had enough Mods. Yet.... there are not volunteers there when always needed. That is my point. Why not stagger the Mods ? If there are not enough Mods to cover 24/7, then there are not enough Mods. Because of the nature of the room, there does need to be Mods on at all times. And i know that the Mods that do care, can see this.

look, i get that SerinityMoon... My issue is not with you Mods...Its with the implementation of the Mods... It could be done so much better.
It's really not that difficult to put into place a schedule that would benefit the Users, who, after all, are the backbone of this site.

Nobody in this world is perfect.

They put long hours in each and every day. They put there own precious time. Long hours and months and years at a time. They don't get paid. HR and staff they do the best that they can. I have never had a problem in the general chat room with any of the mods or the admins. Past and present. They work for free and they work hard. They do the best that they can and that's all that matters. Sometimes it's not easy being a mod or an admin. With all the people that come in and out daily don't you understand. If you have a problem why don't you try to sign up to be a mod and help others. If you have a problem with HR or his staff he can please kindly send a private message. HR will be happy to help you. HR is always very helpful and team. I hope you have a lovely day. God bless you, your family, and your friends. Be well and safe.

All the best,
Princessa

Princessa, i appreciate what you are saying... But i actually did not complain about the quality of the Mods. My point was the LACK of Mods at the times when they were needed. In the room we actually did ask about becoming Mods, but HR Puff assured us that he didnt need any more Mods for this room.

Look dude the Admin of the room is so anal that if there was any way to set up a schedule he would. Think of what you are asking. Mods are all volunteer. Your suggestion for a schedule is very laughable. I am hoping you are a troll and not serious

The General Chat is a 13+ room. Anyone who want to be there for general chat of that age can be. The reason the age is "recommended 16+" is so the staff can direct young users, who are really looking for other young users *only*. If under 16 are clearly not being appropriate in our room, or mature enough etc the staff ask/direct them or help them go.
Its a very good rule, the site admin created, and the administration of the General Chatroom supports it. We cover the room with staff best we can. We constantly have over 400 ******** now, most of the mods are on when those ******** are.

The word recommended is clear. It is staff discretion. This room will never be 18+ according to the owner(s)- lots of those on site now. The site main page clearly says rooms cant be staffed 24/7.

every user now is 16+ as their accounts declare. Those who used the room prior to the rule change, may be under 16 but those accounts created by users before the change who historically used the room prior= are sorted on a case by case basis. There is no reason for staff to start booting a user who is mature enough or has chatted for a few years-- and wants general chat,-- based on a rigid unjust application of the rule.

The staff ask, suggest, investigate and when needed remove. Discretion is essential in any organization and promotes fairness in keeping with the expectations of the site managers.

Ok thats fine, but that needs to be made apparent in the rules. You really shouldnt be saying that a room is 13+ if its only at the on duty Mods discretion... perhaps the Chat Room Rules and Regulations need to be updated?
From the Gen chat room rules.

The General Chat is a great room to chat in because every topic (with few exceptions listed below) is allowed. Anyone 13+ looking for general chat can be here- but the recommended age is 16+

General Chat *clean* chat room-which means its not a place for excessively vulgar /tasteless chat.

If you are ages 13-15, and are only looking for other teens to chat with, please try the Teen Chat.

Any gray area about any of the room rules is at the discretion of the moderators and Room Administrator.
