Mods at night

That is a common problem in most rooms, mods not being able to cover all times of the day and night. Rest assured that the admins are trying to fix this by getting more moderators. especially for different timezones. Eventually there will be mods in there 24/7 I'm sure. Until then, we do the best we can.
That is a great idea. Be the change you wish to see. If there are no mods covering your timezone, perhaps you could be the one to do it

It’s not as easy as you think. You have to find someone who you think would do a good job and isn’t like a trolling idiot. You also have to factor in if you think they’ll do a good job and what your staff thinks as well. Coupled with the fact that every room has different ways of hiring people. @TheLeigh
And even if a user checks all those boxes, there is a high chance that they are from NA timezones which is okay but not exactly what we are in need of. We need other timezones but not many people from those timezones apply and the ones who do may not be a good fit

I do agree that nighttime coverage is something that needs continued improvement, especially since a lot of reports and issues tend to happen during those hours. It’s also something that is constantly being worked on behind the scenes.
The biggest challenge is finding reliable moderators in the needed time zones who are active consistently and are a good fit for the role. That’s why applications for overnight coverage are always encouraged and actively looked at.
No room is realistically able to have perfect 24/7 coverage at all times, but expanding nighttime moderation has been an ongoing focus for a while now and efforts are continuously being made to improve it. In the meantime, reports are still reviewed and handled as quickly as possible whenever staff are available.
As @Drock shared above, there is currently a moderator application open for General Chat as well. If anyone feels strongly about wanting to help improve overnight moderation in General Chat and believes they’d be active during those hours, applying is definitely encouraged. Having dependable people willing to help is ultimately what strengthens coverage the most.

im available at night, been available. i got like the perfect record to be a moderator, ive even requested to go on a kamikaze mission to sanctify the room during any and all hours.

Right, you can be the example of what not to do in the room, so that the room knows what not to do, right?
Admitting you are going to kamikaze the room probably won't get you modded...atleast keep it a secret until you actually get modded 😁
Our goal is to have 24/7coverage, and that’s what I’ve been working towards for about a year (I think) now. We don’t have gaps like that in Gen, thankfully, but the gaps we do have could use some fillings!
