More report reasons?

Maybe about fishy accounts?

Stopped by General Chat and a man nearly in his 30s messaged me. Checked his profile, friends for fun... He has newish account and already harvesting minors as friends. What does a 29-year-old man have in common not with one but three underage girls? He had only four friends to begin with.

Wanted to report him but it might end up backfiring because you can't explain it and it doesn't really go with anything else.

I was on a customized chat build that had a ton of report reasons once, and it was more of a hassle than anything. A mod sees the same context no matter what the report reason, so if it's something a bit more complicated then it might be a better idea to message the mod and explain it.
 
Hello, my advice would be when in doubt just report it under any reason. That way the moderator will see it and take action. Could there be more reasons to choose from? Yes. But until those system changes are made just keep reporting. 👍🏻

To your other point, when you mix minors and adults in one room things can get very difficult. Technically based on the age requirements of the room (16+) there’s no violation in having friends. Is it sketchy for an adult to have minor friends? Hell yes!!! That’s why it’s important to have quality moderators who can properly assess people and remove those with bad intentions.

But I’m not involved with Gen Chat so I’m sure there other people who can provide better comments. ✌🏻

then pay it for the customization of the Modern Chat Software if you'd like to see this happen (if possible and willing to be implemented by those mysteriouso ones).
 
Ugh, Gen chat strikes again. Anyways, you can pm the mods after you flag it but sadly, there's no common sense rules against that. They do nothing to stop adults from not only friending but talking to minors and it's not the mods fault, they're doing their job.

A large chunk of that rooms problems would go away if they just made it 18 and up.

What @IamDave said ^^^. The "reasons" are throwbacks which aren't used anymore by mods. You report, we read and take appropriate action, no matter what "reason" is reported.

Agreed. This happens all the time in Adult Chat. To combat this I routinely post reminders in the chat to flag the offending post or pm, not the profile, since often times there is nothing clearly wrong in the profile.

You might be interested to know- the gen chat room rules do say that "sexualized images of minors" are not allowed- and that applies to friendlists as well. It's one of the improvements we are very proud of in the General Chatroom.

►We do not allow sexualized images of minors. Users are also responsible for ensuring their account is incompliance- including friends lists. Any issues relating to this is to be brought to the Room Administrator."


(edit that rule was introduced about 3 months ago.)

You let Cassie use "approved" cleavage photos and bathing suit photos because you were scared when she threatened to go to @Chatmaster about you. You reprimanded me for removing them and told me if she had a problem, to send her your way.
