Name one good reason Mods need to log in as guests or alt accounts.
Pro tip: you cant

There is no reason a MOD needs to log in as a guest to observe chat. MODS logging in as anything other than their mod account should be fired.

Doing his would cut back on MOD trolling and maximize Moderating.

"Ghost moderating" is a thing reserved for the admin. Not MODS. Having MODS in the user panel is proven to cut back on people breaking rules.

Not only to MODS log in as guests to troll other users but they also log in as a guest to avoid having to moderate. This is not helpful to the room.

This needs to end NOW.

As I said, I don’t choose to do this. But it’s a personal preference that each person can choose or not.

I don’t rely on anyone else to fulfill my responsibilities. I’m responsible for them so I do them. And as I said, if a mod isn’t on their mod account it should only be when another mod is present.

That is never the case and no one is ever around to know it. Which is why mods get away with harassing people under guest accounts.

Explain to me how a Mod logging in as a guest is safer for the room and poses no risk of abuse. You gave the example of them being able to report pedos/ua people by being "undercover". I gave you the example that you can not see reports while undercover. The latter(being logged in as a mod) has more benefits and less potential for abuse because the chat is also watching their behavior along with the admin.

If you have proof of mods on their non-mod accounts harassing users then provide that to the respective room admin.

As I’ve said, the non-mod account should only be used if there is a mod present. The non-mod account doesn’t need to see reports because the mod is dealing with them.

It is impossible for a user to directly tie a guest account to a mod.
The only proof/tools that could be used to identify guests lies in control of moderators/admin.

Anything other than that is purely specculative as users have no means of physically identifying guest accounts.

Like trolls, mods will send cue words that only their victims know how to identify through past arguments or other history. Just as you guys know when a guest is bypassing a kick by arguing about the same topic you just kicked a user for without looking at their profile, users will also know when a particular mod is harassing them.

Admins dont act on specculation they require proof of which is impossible to acquire as a user.

Ok then based on that there’s no way you can definitively say a mod is being abusive or harassing under their non-mod account. So it’s all just speculation.
 
Knowing who is harassing you and having tangible proof are two different things.

If you agree with my statement then you agree that theres no way a user can report this. If you agree with it also means you agree that them accessing guest accounts while being mod is a risk.
 
I'm not sure what your complaint is here. If you're being harassed, report the harassment. If you suspect that you're being harassed by a mod, inform the admin and provide evidence of the harassment. The admin will then investigate the issue and the offender, and take action against the mod if your suspicions were correct.

I believe he is offering a suggestion or feedback on an existing problem. Not necessarily complaining about someone specific.

That's why we have a mod complaint forum to address these issues. But eliminating/preventing these issues is a different topic altogether. hence Elroy's post.
 
He's probably trying to show the admins that he is active, so he doesn't get fired.

He's joining on threads that don't involve him always.

He's likes hopping into some thread that he might not normally do, but he did anyway.

I think they were suggesting that having moderators present and actively engaging with the audience would be better.

Plus, the practice of "ghost kicking" creates confusion and disorder among the users.

Plus, they cannot identify who is responsible for the moderators' action.

So, he is upset.

I find these comments interesting coming from you since you don’t really understand how moderating works and also as someone who spends a LOT of time on the forums commenting on a LOT of threads and constantly tagging random people. I really hope you have friends and interests outside of this site that you can spend time on. ✌🏻
