Never Ending Story đź“–

The knocking on the door resumes, ominously and calm, almost mocking her.

She falls to the ground due to the severe pain and starts to crawl towards her kitchen where her cellphone is, blood dripping on the floor.

Aurora reaches up to the kitchen counter, blindly grasping for her phone, when she hears the door hinges creak as the front door slowly swings open.

BEEP BEEP BEEP, Aurora wakes up to her alarm (she hits snooze again) “FU*K!!” She screams out, realizing that she fell back asleep and is now 3 hours late to work.

She then realises it was a hallucination and there is no screwdriver or impaled eyeball “ok get yourself together Aurora”. She says to herself.

“I need to stop watching Netflix before bed” she thinks to herself.

As she was rushing to the door she noticed her door peephole was broken, she refused to pay much attention and went into her car and took off to work.

Back from work and still not taking much notice grabbed a quick sandwich , finished off last nights wine and headed for bed .

As she was getting ready for bed, tipsy from the wine, she sat at the edge of her bed thinking about last nights dream… when suddenly she heard foot steps in the kitchen.

Overwhelmed with fear as the visions of last night cascaded through her mind, Aurora sat frozen in place as a screwdriver rolled slowly through her doorway and came to a halt at her feet.

She immediately got up and locked her door, went to her closet and grabbed her gun, she looked around to see if she could barricade her room door.

Aurora pushed with all her might to slide her dresser in front of her door. "There, that will keep it out," she thought, before realizing that the door opened outwards and there was nothing she could do to block it from opening.

Out of the semi darkness a clawed hand came round the doorframe, Aurora with her hand covering her mouth let out a stifled scream and with trembling hands slowly pointed the gun .

She steps back slowly, hands shaking uncontrollably, Aurora crying softly, when suddenly the lights go out.

Aurora backed up slowly, trembling, raggedly breathing, until her back met the closet wall. She slid down, crouched, her hands attempting–failing–to hold the gun steady, as she blindly pointed it into the darkness.

Aurora stayed there crouched for minutes, maybe hours – time seemed to be both an eternity and an instant while she waited hopelessly, helplessly for the creature to approach.

She saw it and screamed! It came closer , she pulled the trigger - click - pulled it again - click and again and again - click-

Misfire after misfire, Aurora begins to recognize the dark figure as it approached closer. Sighing in relief, she identifies her Godmother, “Maleficient!”

She got up only to find out she was wrong, the creature quickly saw her and pushed her against the wall and whispered in her ear….
