New Message Sound Error

It seems that when SENDING a message I will hear the new message sound as if someone has sent me a message, but instead I am the one sending the message. Why is that?

I've had this happen as well (in Adult Chat Desktop). Rarely, when I send a PM, it'll flag sound on the page as if someone's messaged me instead. It didn't have that behavior before for me.
