New Role : Chat Hunter (CLOSED!)

This will probably sound crazy, but I think all chat sites would appreciate one new role. The Chat Hunter was just my idea of name, it can be changed.. Well, what would Chat Hunter be about? When Mods aren't active then Report Limit is arround 7 people per User.. So even with alts it takes tons of time to get everything reported and most of people don't continue reporting when they reach a report limit (send screenshots or anything else), so I came up with idea of Chat Hunter, they would work under Moderators and their ONLY permission would be : Unlimited Reports. That's all. Nothing too "overpowered" and it will also help Mods with their work.. But the problem of this is that, people would stop spamming or etc if they saw something next to nickname of Chat Hunter (Something like Shields that Mods have), so I came up with a solution. Don't name the role Chat Hunter but something like Super VIP. It would be just a cover for them. Pervs act the same infront of Vips so noone would mind. Super VIP won't have VIP permissions and u wont be able to buy it, it will be classic User role just with unlimited reports. It will cover the Chat Hunter + u can say something like : "Super VIP is only for users, that have prove themself to Mods and Admins". People would just nod to that and wont mind. So it will be something like undercover Mod, but lower permission. I know, it's probably useless and theres alot work with it, but I think Mods would appreciate that kind of help.. And I wanted to share this idea with everyone and know what they think about it.. Thanks for reading that. (Also.. The most users don't even know about Forum, so no worries that someone could find out about this, u can also delete that if u decide to add the role)

You know what. I love your idea, I just don’t ever see anything being implicated like that into the chat :/

Ok, first of all, it's really nice to see a user offering a reasoned, well thought out idea to make the chat experience better. But here's the most important thing to consider: all the reports in the world won't help if there isn't a moderator to handle them. Many of the chat rooms (including mine) have a serious shortage of active mods. Someday, somewhere down the road, your idea may be used, but for the time being, it might better to apply and volunteer to be a moderator in the chat room that you use.

Keep making good suggestions like this, even if they don't happen right away. Remember, it took Thomas Edison more than 1000 tries to perfect the light bulb.

Thanks, I already tried to apply as Moderator, but I'm also trying to find another ways to help the site grow, also sorry to hear about the Mods situation and I hope in future there will be way to make the idea become reality! ^^ Thanks for your comment
 
Yer I don’t think you know how this chat works

the report limit cannot be raised for a singular rank
it would apply to all ranks

Ranks are number based 0-11
0 being guest and 11 being the owner
You would not be able to create a rank lower then vip without Changing vast amounts of code you'd need to use the number above what VIP is listed as(2) therefore this would also push that "secret user" right up the user list above all vips
which means your idea of a secret reporter is pointless

If admins wanted someone like that for their room they can Ask CM if they can hire a room mod/room admin/room owner that will be able to delete all spam without having the full mod privillages which i could see him saying no because those ranks are pointless.

And if someone is wanting that they may as well apply for a full moderator position

Sure, thanks for your reply, I didn't know about that ^^ It won't work anyways, because of low Mod activity and such things, I also mentioned in my post its a kind of stupid idea and I didn't though about it all the way so thanks for explaining.

But to secret reporter, it might work, even if it will be higher then VIP, thats why I mentioned something like Super VIP, its only natural for that role to be higher then VIP in User List... But all other things u said were right, and my idea just CAN'T happen. Thanks for everything u said

I actually think a Secret Reporter would be good. Name it Secter. Be invisible on the chatline in the room like the Admin is. Unlimited Reports. No need for a VIP logo or similar to a mod logo.

And a full Moderator position can easily drive people nutty and make then into a person they were the exact opposite of before being a Mod.

Some want to help the room out without being a Mod.

It could be like a Ghost User. 👻🥸

It sounds a good idea just don’t see it being implicated. As Nathan said it would take a hell of a lot of coding for something like this and would probably get abused anyway like most crap :/

Even Mods can't go to "invisible mode, also like Nathan mentioned, theres a big issue that just doesn't allow us to do such a thing.
