Every Saturday and some Sundays (night my time) I put on a show from ******* in a side room in Girls Chat.
These shows vary from old Z grade movies that tend to be hilarious to TV shows and documentaries often ones not seen by most.
I also play from ******* live streams of SpaceX launches.
All are welcome.
In 24 minutes from this post there is to be a Launch
Us Girls Chat Mods are doing a lot of things to mitigate and negate the spammers we get.
Whilst we work hard at it there are some things the normal ******** can to do make your chat experience fun and virtually not affected by them.
Here are some tips.
Tip one that spammers and trolls hate is don't engage with them. Don't complain in main, don't try to negotiate with them and don't abuse them. They thrive on such engagements and it encourages them to do it more.
What I have noticed when everyone does this is the spam just becomes background noise, people have fun and the spammer eventually gives up and leaves. Often the chat is more fun too.
I see this effect here in Australia when its hot. When people whine or complain it feels hotter but when you just accept its hot and get on with things it doesn't feel as hot.
Tip two. VIPs can make side rooms that allow only members and excludes guests. I suggest they make 3 or 4 people admins in that room so they can block any accounts made by the spammers. Spammer just hate these rooms it annoys them no end. If they make accounts to go in its only a short term thing with admins blocking and if you do what I suggest in next suggestions.
If you make one of these rooms please set aside differences and just get on with each other no matter who is there. These rooms are often a lot of fun, even if its only 5 or 6 people. With 10 people its more chatty than main with 300.
Oh and if they make accounts let us know so we can deal with those. Its actually quite good they make accounts for other things we are working on.
Tip 3. If you click on spammers profile the hit ignore and then refresh room it wipes the spam and they are ignored. This is really effective and reduces any issue you feel with the spam. You will have to do it regularly but its is quite empowering to take control in this way.
Like I said the mod team is working on a bunch of things to mitigate the spammers. If we come up with more solutions for you we will let you all know.
