No Mods at teen chat!

Theres no mods for several hours yes i know they have a life outside of the internet but its been several hours since i seen a mod, Dount you need to refresh your staff team asap, i see pedos asking for young etc etc its getting out of control inside teen chat, Hire some new mods asap
 
Update 2 - Since my last post (2:48 Pm) its now (5:03 PM) i havent seen a single mod get on, and its getting crazy in there..... People are spamming in the chat and being racist to each other... HopeFully donut see's this
 
Well, first of all. I have a job, outside of chat so I work during the day and stay up until about 3am modding chat. Second, Donut is hiring mods, so people are more than welcome to apply. Sorry that not all mods are on a user based schedule. Third, the issues described above by you happen whether a mod is there or not. The only perk of having a mod there when it happens is we get to sweep it under the rug for the lack of a better statement. So you don’t see it (the spam getting deleted).

But again, what do I know? If you feel there is an issue with the mods, I think it should be a private message to Donut.
 
Hey like i said i know you guys have a life outside of the chat room i was just pointing out that not all the mods are active. I only see you and Dylan being active

Sharkbyte is also a mod and shows up in there when he can. Mods admins and other people do have a life outside the chat. Unlike you and me who hang about in chat rooms all day with nothing to do shows something. I know I ain't got a life but anyways my point is rooms cant and wont be moderated 24 7 all day every day. Not ever gonna happen

To be clear, you seem to be openly acknowledging there is not any set schedule for moderators in teen chat. Why should it ever be the case that a chatroom with hundreds of people tailored specifically to minors be unmoderated at any point? And why would that glaring concern ever be some sort of issue you sort behind closed doors via private messages?

I've been on this site since 2003 and this bizarre, gaping flaw has never been addressed. The fact that one administrator is assigned per room makes no sense, the fact that there isn't a set schedule for chatrooms like teen chat, kids chat, boys and girls chat doesn't make any sense either, especially considering this site has made the news on more than one occasion for being leveraged in stings to capture child predators. In fact, I can think of at least two former chatroom administrators who are registered sex offenders off the top of my head.
 
1.) Each room is only supposed to have 8 mods according to chatmaster himself. 2.) Mods do not work "shifts" nor are we required to. The fact that you all think 24 hour coverage is possible is insane. 🙄
 
Your post does make some sense ,but what might help start adding mods in mixed time zones.As far as Chatmaster he can also ease lot's by adding the right room bots to,Mods have there life outside the chats I would have to agree cause I currently have 120 mods,me ,and my partner owners ,and 1 sub admin. We have a report tab in one ,and I still get drama reports in my pm.So it's hard to cover anything 24/7,but time zone mod selections would help some.

If you can't moderate a chatroom tailored to minors around the clock then you probs shouldn't have such a chatroom because all it says is 'i don't give a shit about kids.' If the 8 moderator limit is a technical constraint then the room capacity should be capped or operate on a schedule itself to accomodate the moderators. I'd love to know why you think that having an unmoderated chatroom for kids is insane tho, please go on.


If Cm could stop being entirely opaque on the issue and chime in too instead of responding publicly once every few years like a cicada that'd be cool.

Edit: also why do people tell this person to 'take it to pm' then multiple people write 'oh he pm'd me asking if he could be a mod lul'? What's the incentive of taking it to pm if those pm's are just going to make their way back here publicly?

I don’t think you understand what you’re asking for. You’re asking for a group of up to eight (8) people to be on a chat in which are tailored to teenagers, who should be able to be mature (yet obviously there aren’t always mature ones). But yet you want eight people to dedicate their lives to this? I just want to make sure I understand what you’re asking for....

Hold up, that 8 mod limit applies to all the rooms? Please for the love of everything holy and unholy tell me that isn't the case.....
I still have issues with gen chat being limited to that when it needs roughly ten to cover the basics.=/​
