Hold up, that 8 mod limit applies to all the rooms? Please for the love of everything holy and unholy tell me that isn't the case.....
I still have issues with gen chat being limited to that when it needs roughly ten to cover the basics.=/

Sadly you are hearing truth. That rule was implemented for admins around 3 or 4 years ago, I'm sure purplerose has a thread about it in the Singles forum.

Edit - here it is https://forum.chat-avenue.com/showthread.php/229418-Singles-chat-users

Wild. Huh?

1.) Each room is only supposed to have 8 mods according to chatmaster himself. 2.) Mods do not work "shifts" nor are we required to. The fact that you all think 24 hour coverage is possible is insane. 🙄

Now if I'm not mistaken, There was 10 mods in TC a month ago.

1.) Scoobydoobydoo4
2.) wtfsarah
3.) Donut
4.) NorthKoreaCEO
5.) Sharkbyte
6.) 1jemoederator
7.) Catpoopmetal
8.) Jack_2
9.) Sirhamhaw
10.) Peterrr

I don’t think you understand what you’re asking for. You’re asking for a group of up to eight (8) people to be on a chat in which are tailored to teenagers, who should be able to be mature (yet obviously there aren’t always mature ones). But yet you want eight people to dedicate their lives to this?

I've been on this site since I was 14/15. I moderated teen chat when I was about 18-19 under erin_me. I'm in my early 30s now, and I'm telling you this has been an issue that this website's administration has never adequately addressed. I remember Cm literally had kids moderating kids chat, as if that made any sort of sense. I don't know if that's still the policy, or if they realized how insane it is to have kids moderating kids and teens moderating teens.

if you can only have 8 people moderate a chatroom for minors due to some technical constraint (because if this is an arbitrary administrative decision then that's a bigger problem) then the rooms should literally be taken offline during certain hours to better accomodate the moderators.

Just ****** 'chat-avenue arrest' in ****** news and a number of articles will come up. Safety of the users should be the biggest concern, and if the site can't gaurantee that they're doing everything they realistically can then they shouldn't be operating chatrooms aimed at minors to begin with and citing moderators as a line of defense against sexual predators when, by your own admission, moderators aren't always even in the room.

At the end of the day the site administration's attitute towards it seems to be 'well this will always be a risk with our rooms and we're just willing to accept it.' Why is this an acceptable risk? There's literally no upside here.

And I'd ask again (not to you specifically, but to anyone reading this) why is this such an opaque issue? The only thing about this 8 mod limit rule is a thread made by purplerose? It makes absolutely zero sense for her to be the one posting about it instead of Cm laying out the rationale behind it.
