Permanent Bans

When a person is on cam with someone and that person makes a non-consensual sexual advance, up to and including exposing their genitalia and possibly performing an act of self-gratification, and the person gets reported, why is that person allowed to remain in Chat Avenue? Why is that person not permanently banned, especially if the victim involves a minor?

The way it's been explained to me is that if an adult is doing this sort of thing with another adult, and the person performing such an act is reported, then that person only gets kicked for short period of time, but, for a person to do such a thing with a minor, it is then that the person gets banned, but again, it's only for a short period of time. Do I understand this correctly, is that not how it works?

Either way, the problem here is that this sort of thing should require a permanent ban. Otherwise, it sends a message that these people will only be removed for just a little while and that what they did isn't really against the rules, not to mention the law, so they're welcome back to do it all over again.

What these people have done is considered a sex crime! By not making the ban permanent, it allows the person to return to continue their bad behavior. Where are the consequences? Where is the justice?

No matter what the sites stance is, IP manipulation is a thing. Even if an IP were to be blocked, the changing of an IP can happen. Both willingly or over time, swap modems, a few reasons. So unless the person is making themselves know, there isnt a way to just know who a username might be or what they may have done in the past.

Whatever room this happened in, I suggest reporting the person to the moderators and then Im sure the room admin would be more than willing to speak to you as well. They are all lovely people 🙂

Thanks for clearing that up Karina. But, it didn't happen to me and I don't know what room it happened in, but the perpetrator was a certain male VIP in our room. Now he's back from a ban and in a room with minors and I'm just very concerned and would like to see something done.

Express your concerns to the admin of the room you frequent about why you feel a previously-banned chatter is a safety concern and why you feel their ban should be extended. Provide screenshots of examples for rule-break offenses he's committed in the room you're asking for a ban in.

Additionally, if you didn't personally witness the issues that you're referring to in this post, direct the person who told you about them to this forum to follow the advice given. I understand that you're concerned, but it's hard to place a ban - much less a permanent ban - on someone when you have no first-hand account of the issues and you don't know what room you're requesting a ban in.

It seems to me that you're suggesting the person you're wanting a permanent ban for is a child predator. These issues are taken very seriously and should be addressed as promptly as possible. Please direct your concerns to the staff of the room(s) this is taking place in so they can act accordingly.

Unfortunately, at the moment we do not have an Admin. And, while I did not personally witness the event, my source is highly reputable. But for the record, it is not just the person I referred to that should have a permanent ban, but anyone involved in such a crime.

If the room you're referring to does not have an assigned admin, @Chatmaster is the admin of the room. You can PM him your concerns by clicking his name in blue in this message.

Additionally, I'm not questioning the credibility of your witness. However, saying that someone told you something once but you're not sure what room it's for doesn't allow actions to be taken. If you're looking to have a predator removed from a room, help us help you by directing the person that brought these issues to your attention to this thread. They should report the issues to the admin of the room with screenshots, express their concerns, and request consequences be placed on the offender.

In a perfect world, all predators would be removed from chat in an instant. Unfortunately, that's not how things work - they have to be removed one at a time. If you or someone you know have the ability to prove someone is a predator, please bring evidence forward and report the issue to the room admin so actions can be taken.

There is always a way to ban permanent like before people who come with VPN for faking trolling etc now 99% percent they can't enter in the chat..

My advice is do this thing like everyone register first before they enter in the chat with there ID card/passport and photo obvious after will be difficult for people who comes over and over...

Regardless, a permanent ban should be in place for such activity or is what you're saying is that you disagree?
Where in my reply did it say anything even close to indicating that I disagree with banning for such activity? I said that we don't accept hearsay evidence, i.e. "I heard that AshleeLightBringer is selling pictures of naked walruses". Such complaints do not fly. First person reports and proof are the requirements.

Unlike the other mods, you seemed more into criticizing than giving an opinion on a permanent ban and now you're giving attitude so just let's stop.

@Apollo @Chopper @Kim @H.R. PufnStuf time to close this now.

Not a kick/ban complaint per se, moved to SC&F CM will see it there plus the tags etc.
