Pete Rose for posthumous HOF?

Should Cooperstown wake up and posthumously induct Pete Rose?

This one has been back and forth for me since he passed, RIP to the MLB hit leader!

Quick 411, Pete Rose was caught betting on Baseball as a Manager, not a player. Baseball’s longstanding Rule 21 about misconduct, which is prominently displayed in every MLB clubhouse, states any player, umpire, or club or league official or employee who bets "upon any baseball game in connection with which the bettor has a duty to perform, shall be declared permanently ineligible."
Cooperstown never budged. I dont think they should now, they should have when he was alive, but I also think it would be worse not having the all time hit leader in the hall of fame... Its a catch 22.
Will his family actually appreciate it? Will that actually close out his legacy and rightfully put the PLAYER Pete Rose into the HOF and seperate him from the MANAGER Pete Rose who bet on baseball while employed?
 
it pains me....because I feel like he was SUCH an awesome talent as a player- and has records that go unmatched. Did he eff up? Sure....but this was in the 80s, and players today do SO much worse! I think it's a shame for him not to be recognized for his amazing feats, while players that admit to using PED's (IE- Jose Canseco) are allowed in. Seems like such a terrible injustice.
