A few of us were talking this morning about how some people just drone on and on about politics. We get it’s an election year but enough is enough.
So the idea was to have “Politics Free Fridays.” Anyone that talks about politics on Fridays gets kicked (5 mins tops)

I say forget the kick. Ban them forever.

Serious opinion: If they get kicked for 5, they'll just talk about it again when they're back, and again every time but then they'd come on here and whine about it then have the usual keyboard equivalent of a willy waving contest. Stick the political guys and gals on ignore on a Friday and remove it on a Saturday.

In the Adult Chat rooms we don’t allow political or religious discussions. We find they almost always devolve into fighting and arguments. And most people come here to get away from all that stuff.

I'm not sure escaping religion or politics is quite why they go to AC

Although then again in Gay Chat we have quite a few "MAGA bros", a lady that likes to do things with crucifixes and someone that likes to do things with the Quran

i don't like the idea of banning topics (that are relatively harmless) but a one day a week thing isn't a terrible idea.

at worst it's just boring as all hell cause it's always the same few people regurgitating the same boring talking points with a 12yo's understanding of the issues. all surface level and falls apart with any follow up questions.
