(I’m not complaining. I like not working)

On top of that, for at least a couple of thousand years people have been free to congregate, dress up in robes if they wish, parade with candles and crosses, to sing and give praise to Jesus and do so as often as they like (daily 24/7 if they wish). #JesusPride

cool, I didnt know about UK holidays. But what I really agree with is the idea, to increase everyone's recognition to be , equal, rather than reduce some so everyone is equal.

what I meant was, if pride is a month, then I like the idea of giving others a month of recognition, rather than reduce pride to what most others get, to make groups equal.

I’ll trade Veterans Day for month, include the American federal holiday too.
 
I am not going to bother quoting an ignored user as it would be a waste of 2kb of server space. But i will say is that you cant scream you are being persecuted while also badgering gay names to people who are clearly straight and identify as straight.
That would make you a hypocrite.

I think the concept of a "month" stems from the fact that Gay Pride Day is actually June 28 (the anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, and the birth of the Gay Pride movement), and it's difficult to have so many events on one day. On my little island, we have always had celebrations mid-June, so as not to conflict with the New York City event at the end of the month.

BUT - (in the US) Veterans Day (formerly Armistice Day - "the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month" - the end of WW1) has Veterans celebrations and recognitions all month long, for exactly the same reasons as for Pride, making the month of November essentially Veterans Month.

Also, with the proliferation of various other "months" and "days" (see above - Mental Health Month, Men's Health Month, and my personal favorite, Pet A Cat Day on June 5th), unless we find a way to add about 102 more months to the calendar, there will always be overlapping and extended celebrations.
 
while we're at it. next month is national ice cream month. we should do away with that. what about all the other desserts? why does ice cream get a whole month. we shouldn't tear the other desserts down by raising ice cream up
