When you see someone with " new member, bronze member, silver member or gold member " it represents the trophies that you've earned on the site by the amount of the messages you've sent and the amount of reactions that you've earned.

If you press on your Profile picture you could see an option called " trophy points " press that, and you'll be able to see your current trophies and the obtainable trophies.
 
It just basically means how interactive you are. I think gold member is achieved when it’s 1,000 posts unsure about silver though.
