Question

Maybe that's the problem. Not applying a set guideline for what is considered to be pii. Doxxing shouldn't be complicated. Information is either personally identifiable or its not. Maybe this is why everyone voted you to be most to act like an admin, you don't actually have know what it takes or how to answer things. Best run along if you don't have answers.

I was just trying to have a reasonable, adult discussion with you. I guess when you don’t get an answer you want, you resort to personal shots. That’s immature and unfortunate. Enjoy the thread. 👍🏻

A reasonable discussion would be one where you could answer the question rather than trying to cycle logic your answers without actually trying to be helpful. Maybe you are on track to being an admin or Um after all.

No DOXXING. Do not post personal information belonging to anyone else, this includes (but not limited to) full names, address, emails, social media, phone numbers and photos. *Doxxing*- is the intentional sharing of personal information intended to harm another person.
For arguments sake rules, taken from the Adult forum chat rules thread, don't say anything about me posting your ip address, gleaned in the forums with my signature, in chat.

—————> “but not limited to” 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️
sure...but it doesn't specify anything else...and as a cybersecurity professional...i don't view someone's ip address as something that would be considered private...so...again...based on the rules...would it be considered? I think not.

Why would you want someones IP anyway ? Everyone knows the information isn't specific.
That's my point though...i've seen people lose it over someone having their ip...staff...and i'm just wondering if someone can specify what the site deems as doxxable information....the above quote in adult chat seems to indicate IP isn't...but his reaction seems to say otherwise

O.k , obviously i am no longer Admin of Adult Chat nor a UM, BUT this is what i would have banned for
Real name
Actual address
Employers details
Images
Links to Social media
IP? Grey area.

See...this is an answer. And the ones you're sure about make sense. This is probably why you were voted as an ex mod that should come back.

I would be enforcing the rule and I wouldn’t be banning. I’d be kicking.
which rule? i don't see it in the rules.

I already explained it to you above. If you still don’t understand then come to AC and I’ll help you understand. ✌🏻

No, you explained to me your abuse of a rule that doesn't state what that information is and I explained to you as a cybersecurity professional what my view is of that rule. Perhaps you, not as an admin, should seek to gain clarification from your admin...or someone higher...rather than speaking on behalf of the chat and/or site.

For someone who’s supposedly smart you’re kind of slow at following all this. I’ll try and be clear: You can’t post someone’s IP in AC.

Clear enough??

The rule states “this includes (but not limited to)” which means we don’t have to spell out every single scenario. The team agreed posting someone’s IP without their consent is not allowed in our rooms.

Here’s my question to you: why are you taking peoples IP addresses without their consent?

so if the team was in agreement that that was not allowed...why wasn't that added to the rules?

do you understand how the internet works? because the site requires that you use an external source for posting images...it grants me the ability to use my own servers...if you're requesting data from my servers...i'm logging what's being requested...how do you think my signatures work?

so if the team was in agreement that that was not allowed...why wasn't that added to the rules?

Because we have an awesome, dedicated team with great communication so we can make decisions very fast. As in 30 minutes ago. We are very efficient 😎
As I said earlier, we don’t have to change the rules 🤦🏻‍♂️

Hopefully we are done here, people are going to get bored reading this 😂
