its so fucking hilarious to me how so many (esp maga) people are up in arms and death threat mad over Milli Vanilli cancelling his/their appearance at that 15 day concert on The Mall.
1. He didnt actually receive an invite to play
2. One of them has been dead since the 90s.
3. They are a pop band made famous for lip syncing aka fakers
4. Their based ( or were based) in Germany. Cue the Bad Bunny sh!t all over again.

I can’t sleep so I figured I’d chime in.

I’m liberal borderline progressive. But everyone that’s backing out of this concert and realizing now that this is political when in fact it shouldn’t be tbh.

It’s crazy to see how some people like are up in arms over this and i find it hilarious.

whats funny to me is his people didnt even try to get someone thats had A) toured B) had new music C) sold any albums in the last decade. sure michaels and mcbride are bigger names but its not like they are anywhere close to "hit makers" now. hes not going to be hauling in anyone under 80 with that lineup. hell even my county fair at least tries. weve got god smack, styx and hank williams jr coming. it aint no elton green day and queen but they at least try to touch on some entertainment for 18 yr olds to burn their cash on.

I disagree on one thing partially. In terms of Michael’s if he was with poison doing this, the hit maker thing will be a little different but I agree with you basically. Holy ****, Godsmack that’s a good band. Hell yeah. What they should’ve done for the 250 is make it a political and have at least one younger group that people can relate to respect respectfully no offense, but they’re not it’s political.

Another idea would’ve been to get different musicians from different eras.

yea but hes not. there have been several successful members of bands that go on solo, Cher, Waters, McCartney, Beyonce . they have their old music library plus their new others. and Michaels is just stuck playing poison, without poison. there are several artists that support him. they didnt bother to reach out to them. there are several more that just go on for the paycheck. i think the stink from the artists perspective came from the group who booked didnt announce they were paid by Trump. and at the least that created the illusion that these artists were fine taking trumps money. from every day american throwing their opinions in the ring, they are making it out to be so and so hates america. refuses to play for everyone etc. in the instance of milli vanilli which is what i find the most funny. hes stated they never reached out to him ( or the real singers) yet put him on the poster as coming. AND hes German. as in band formed and he grew up in Germany, and still lives somewhere in Europe. AND yet everyday opinion throwing americans are sending him death threats for cancelling. this is the same group of people who threw death threats at an american citizen because he played the superbowl but speaks spanish. they PISSED over a non american citizen cancelling.

The two singers were women too. One of the lip syncers died of a drug overdose in 98, so it wouldnt be those two black dudes. Theres so many that pulled out of the event simply because they didnt know it was for the scumbag in the oval office.

They do not wish to be associated with Trump. If Trump planned it, he planned it with himself in mind. Every event he plans, he makes it about himself, like the military parade. Scratch that, everything he does, he does with himself in mind. So anyone preforming will getting push back from fans, or fans abandoning their support all together.

Most people do not care about the country's anniversary. Theres nothing to celebrate when everything worth celebrating has been undone. Its no longer a democracy, its a kleptocracy, and quickly spiraling into an authoritarian state. It feels like were actually saying goodbye to all of those years of America being strong.

That military parade.. we aren't like the UK and China where they have battalions just for show. Sure we have a few but most of them are out of active duty and do it for fun like the blue Angels or the corps band. You/we teach them to protect and fight, expect them to protect and fight and that's it. Here I'm near a few bases and they frequently move equipment from one to the other. When they're going down the road we don't stop and wave our flags like it's some parade. We discuss in hushed awe ( depending on age in the car) colors ,how big they are ,what squad, how old it looks, and if it's seen battle. Sure the bigger ones make the news, tanks and Apaches etc . But Its not a show, it's not for a birthday or fun, it's for freedom.

We don't have battalions just for show either. If you're thinking of the royal guards, household cavalry etc. They're all active service people that have served and will serve when necessary. About the only show people are the Yeoman guard at the tower and they're all ex-active servicemen...

I don’t think most people want to be associated with any politician, but since it’s Trump, they specifically don’t want to compared to any other.
