Reporting bug?

I do not know whether this is in fact a bug but i am here to report it. Since it doesnt seem to happen on mobile i would call it a bug. I have not tested with other operating systems or browsers.

When in the text chat box you can unknowingly or inadvertently upload pictures to chat without hitting enter or clicking the submit button. The bug is caused by executing the paste function when you have images cached in your clipboard. This has gotten me into hot water before so i hope it is addressed as ive known about this bug for a year or longer.

Bug:
You hit CTRL+C or go to an image and Right Click>copy image
Said image gets cached into your clipboard
You go to chat and click inside the text box
You hit click CTRL+V or Right Click>Paste
>the image gets automatically uploaded without even hitting enter or the submit button.

As far as im aware this is only happening in windows. It happens both in the main chat box as well as chat box for PMS.
In the past, i have inadvertently uploaded content against the rules as well as mistakenly posted confidential/private information because of this. If the above description isnt sufficient, i have included a video. In the video it doesnt record the right click box but rest assured it can be seen that i am pasting as the text in the box does not get submitted. Video here: https://youtu.be/I8ggX9a5Ofs

I have reported this to my admin but due to his non existant or tone deaf responses i do not know if it was actually submitted higher up.

the only "click" is actually pressing ctrl V.

Im just showing the steps required to satisfy the bug

The reason im explaining all of that is because you may inadvertently copy the wrong image or for some reason or other not actually copied the image you wanted to copy when you hit Ctrl+C/right click>copy. Which means that its going to paste the previous image cached on clipboard. Not the one you wanted to copy.

Actually that would be 3 steps. Pressing CTRL. Pressing V. Pressing Enter.

I would imagine most everyone who uses a computer knows if you copy/cut something and then you paste it will paste it. I don’t know why someone would click in a text chat box to paste something without first copy/cut what they want to paste. Seems highly unlikely.

But whatever. You made your “suggestion” now you wait till chatmaster responds.

The whole point of the thread is that you never hit enter or send and the images get uploaded.

You could be mistakenly uploaded an image onto chat(because its cached on clipboard) when you meant to copy paste text onto the chat box.
 
idk this just seems like a way to backtrack and make yourself look less creepy for posting a nude. like difference said, das a lot of clicks involved for an accident.

"yeah i posted that nude, but it wasn't my fault, i accidentally saved/copied it to my clipboard, then i accidentally right clicked and accidentally clicked paste"

sounds a lot like:

"yeah i shot that guy but my finger slipped I never meant to hit the trigger"
 
Yes I know going forward this happens now but that's why I think it needs to be addressed. Because other people may not know about this so they might accidentally upload something in their clip oard such as something against rules or perhaps personal information

bread posted a nude in main? can't say i'm surprised, but hey it's VGC where johnny allows pretty much any kind of degenerate in the chat
edit: also this thread is just bread trying to kill his guilty conscience of being shamed for doing something pathetic. obviously isn't working from the replies here.
