RIP Pete Rose

Won all star in 3 positions? and one of the best feilding percentages. Plyed without steroids. HOF now!

Pete Rose was a professional baseball player mostly if not entire career at Cincinnati. He has the record for most hits ever in a career. He fell out of favor due to getting caught up in a betting scandal and has been blacklisted in baseball. It is high time to do the right thing and let the one with the most hits in the HOF, Just in Jesus forgave him at the Pearly Gates.
 
after the whole blacksox thing i can totally understand why baseball comes down so hard on gambling. i don't think there was any evidence he bet against his team or anything. i get not allowing him to ever work in baseball again, but i'm not sure i understand keeping him out of the HOF.
 
I can understand why he was banned. But what he did as a player in terms of hitting was fantastic.

He played for Philly also, and they won their first world series in lke 70 years when he did. One of his 3 world series rings the other 2 with the big red machine- under the legendary Sparky Anderson.

A baseball player would have to have 20 years, of 200 hits a season, and still not break Pete's record, one that wiull likely never be broken.

I think major league baseball acted too harshly denying this man the honor he deserves. He did bet on baseball but never his own games. My hope is that baseball gains a heart. Put him in the HOF, he may not get to enjoy that honor but it would mean the world to his 2 grandsons who play baseball.

I think he actually did bet on hos own games- but only to win.
